It's possible that you might have to become a Savant to be able to do something like that, and who's going to bother becoming an Aluminum savant? Also Vins earrings are invested while ordinary metals are not so that might also be affecting the results, rather than just because she didn't ingest them.

Unfortunately we have no definitive WoB answer on 1 or 2, but it should be possible to flare either and get an even stronger effect, or use Nicrosil to boost Duralumin, they'd just last an even shorter period of time but be even stronger but yeah, just conjecture at this point, hopefully we'll see this kind of thing in the second series when it comes out.
-
Speed for sure, storing it would be pretty easy and it's fairly versatile in its uses, for mistings probably steel again, just because flying is awesome.
-
Yes storing and tapping should both be affected by a time bubble, if you'll recall Wax tapped weight while inside it and it seems to have been tapped faster (Normally for him, since he was in the same reference frame.) Age wouldn't be affected more than any other attribute since you store actual age, not the rate at which you age. Malatium was a particular alloy of a god metal with gold which is why it produced a similar effect. Keep in mind that the metals in a quadrant need not be terribly related, Iron and Steel differ from Tin and Pewter far more than Bendalloy does from gold or electrum.
-
Mwahaha! Well what can you expect from someone with void in their name? But yeah, sorry for spoilers.
-
About 8x in Alloy, a 2 minute bubble represents 15 seconds on the outside, obviously flaring, relative strength, etc. will all change it though.
-
No Word of Brandon on this but almost undeniably yes. Miles didn't notice any physiological changes in the bubble so it seems like all metabolic activity, respiration, etc. is all affected by the time bubble.

Q:In Alloy of Law why aren't there any full Mistborn and why are Feruchemists now only able to have one ability? A: Allomancy has degraded in the population, much as the mistborn during the time of the original mistborn trilogy were weaker than Elend or the original Mistborn who were given Lerasium by the Lord Ruler. Feruchemy has become diluted as well through the combined effects of the Lord Rulers breeding programs, the slaughter of the Keepers by Ruin and also through mixing with Allomancy genes by interbreeding. This has allowed Ferrings to exist. Canonicity: Brandon Confirmed.

Clearly an Aluminum gnat will be the one to defeat Odium

I don't know about a main character but I'm sure we'll get one in a supporting role at some point, I imagine something kind of like Spooks progress from book 1 to 3, initially viewed as kind of useless and then finding a more useful way to use their abilities and becoming the survivor of something or other Scadrial needs more survivors.

just had an image of a bunch of kids running up to Marsh and calling him grandpa, lol.
-
Marsh's expiration is more due to him having limited atium to use to compound rather than limited storage, he needs to keep ingesting it to compound so he'll run out eventually.
-
But feruchemy just requires contact with the metal, allomancy specifically requires you to ingest it and brandon has said that it was partially based on metabolic activity IIRC.
-
On Miles gaining feruchemical breath or determination abilities, since he doesn't have the requisite allomantic abilities for compounding he'd still have to store those traits, which is never even vaguely alluded to or suggested and the breathing comment almost directly contradicts it. I'd say it's almost certainly just because he wanted to have an ultimate back up in case his metalminds were removed, he did blow himself up at one point, he could have lost his metalminds then if he wasn't careful. If it was hemalurgy then why would he only steal powers with gold? energy and breath is pretty useless for him, determination isn't really a necessity , why not steal one of the offensive allomantic powers like steel or iron, or a more useful feruchemical ability like strength or speed. Miles able to even just store and tap speed without compounding would be a fearsome opponent indeed.

Or that just the Davar Soulcaster is a fake and her father also had inherent Soulcasting abilities, I'm sure that some brilliant theorist already made an excellent theory about that.

I hope I get some in time to protect myself from the chalklings at my door!

Sorry, Terris as in other than Rashek? I didn't think we had confirmation that they'd ever done anything with the well? Edit: Woo 1,000 posts!

I maintain that Nicrosil is one of the most potentially interesting and vaired abilities, you can use it as a support for allied allomancers, defensively just to deplete enemy reserves of metals, or if timed with enough precision offensively, (Nicroburst a Tineye just as someone fires a gun, or a coinshot just as they're pushing off up into the air, lurcher as they're pulling on something to move, Seeker in the middle of a heap of allomancers to disorient them) lots of possibilities for that one if you're skilled enough.
-
It's an interesting question though, why would Leras imbalance his power even more by manifesting Lerasium?
-
Well it's more a matter of just having a different cost, feruchemists have to pay with the attribute they store up, if a feruchemist just bought new metalminds and an allomancer just bought some more allomantic vials, then the allomancer has the advantage. There's also the problem that they can only store a certain amount of an attribute, so you would need more if you ran out of storage space..

Masquerader? Bit unwieldy though. Veiler?

Ham talks about the difficulty of pewter burning, it's more in knowing when to use your metals rather than a specific application. Less practise required than some of the others but there's still something. Copperclouds with enough practise might be able to shield the emotions of others, so there's room for improvement there. Gold, using it is fine but interpreting what you see effectively seems to be beyond the abilities of the two we've seen use it. Electrum and Atium the difficulty would be using that additional sensory input (More for electrum, since that's als part of atiums ability) and the same problem with pewter, knowing when to use it. Vin managed to beat Shan by using that trick, so it is fairly useful. Bendalloy would be about knowing again when to throw up your bubble, where to move, using the time you gain effectively, etc. And finally Nicrosil would be perhaps one of the most difficult to use effectively, you could just go around ramping up everyones metals constantly but if they don't know what you're about to do they could get seriously injured, it'd be about predicting when and where it's needed, and timing any offensive uses you might try.
-
Well there's also the possibility that if you used the same amount of Lerasium to make a misting as to make a mistborn, that the misting would be 16x stronger in that one metal, a coinshot who could push on metals inside of peoples body is going to be hard to beat, as Kelsier once pointed out they could just rip the metals out of you. Or say, a bendalloy misting who can compress time 16x more effectively than anyone else.

I think you're putting to much emphasis on the act of drawing, it's not the act of drawing, it's the form that you create, the Dor needs a physical outlet through which its energy could escape. Elantrians have the capability of bringing the Dor to the actual form but the form still needs to exist, its physical shape altering the energy. You couldn't just visualise one in your mind any more than visualising Lerasium in your mind would let you burn it.
