So now that his familiar has a location I'll edit to say that Samuel's going to the prison via the riverbank to pick up Murk.- 314 replies

... somehow I completely missed the Tsukuyomi connection. Yeah he's pretty broken but with no secondaries or PI he's very fragile, particularly to surprise attacks, but people are deterred by the fact that if he's alive for even a second after he gets attacked and his weakness isn't in effect he'll strike back.

Somewhere cold would definitely be a good place for him, the name even suits well through complete coincidence. (I was going off of the latin origin for tempest being Tempus (Time) and also "We are such stuff as dreams are made on" is one of my favourite lines from the Tempest and it seemed to suit)

I just had another idea for an Epic (I know, I have a problem, I'm seeking help... from Counselor, an Epic I made ) but he's a bit too OP for any of the areas so far, so I guess he can just have his own area of currently undisclosed location until it can be worked in somehow. Epic name: Tempest Primary power: Mental illusions, one of the most powerful mental illusionist Epics in the fractured state, capable of manipulating all human senses including temporal-perception. Modus Operandi: Through combinations of hallucinations and altering his subjects temporal perception Tempest causes his victims to feel as though they have been tortured for years or even centuries all within the blink of an eye.

I imagine you'd get Sazedium and I'm of the opinion that it gives the power to become a Feruchemist.

Welcome to the forums! Glad to have you here and I look forward to talking to you some more. Mistborn is still one of my favourite series of all time, although the Stormlight Archive is also fantastic. As for what you can do around here there's plenty, whether you like to discuss theories, make jokes or just talk about books the subforums under the Brandon Sanderson heading are great, I'd suggest sticking to the Mistborn forum and avoiding the cosmere or Stormlight Archive forums until you've read some more books if you want to avoid spoilers. We have a few forum Roleplaying games in the Role-Playing section including a very large Reckoners RP if you ever read Steelheart. We also have social groups whether you like wolves, waffles, ice castles or Hemalurgy baking there's a social group for you! So welcome to the forums, take an upvote and a cookie!

The beginnings of the cat plan for world domination were humble, experts have traced the origin back to a single communication made between cats on a fan forum.

Adventures in Edassa: Summer, 1375 S.E - City of Menkor
Voidus replied to Seonid's topic in Inactive RPs
Samuel strode through the streets of Menkor, fuming at the news of the recent proclomation. How dare they? What right do such men have to forbid the Inquisition anything!? Well he would show them, he would show them the futility of trying to resist the Inquisition. No one was above suspicion as far as Samuel was concerned, he would capture every man, woman and child of this city and cleanse them through fire for this. Samuel was posing as a street tough for his current assignment, his sword and armour unfortunately left behind and replaced with a thin piece of leather and a primitive club. Nevertheless his training had covered such situations. Everywhere he looked citizens were rioting, some of the braver ones were even trying to attack his fellow Inquisitors! "Heretics! Heathens! Fall before the Inquisition and know your place!" Samuel yelled, assisting one of his fellows and caving in the heads of several civilians. The Inquisitor gave a nod of appreciation, recognizing Samuel as one of the Inquisitions resident magic wielders. Samuels mind was working quickly, if a proclamation was involved this was no simple revolt of the masses, someone with power had started this. "The heretic, the imprisoned father!" Samuel said "They'll need a more tolerant figure to fill the gap. The guards at the prison may not be enough." The prison wasn't far, but if this rebellion proved too much to handle he might need the help of his familiar. The river first then the prison. Samuel made for the river with speed, stopping only to retrieve the sword of a fallen Inquisitor.- 31 replies

Of course That's why we're all here. I think it's the influence of the strong enjoyment of science a lot of Brandons readers have, all theories go through peer review

I'd actually have to say that Wrath is another, creepy he may be but Nighthound just doesn't compete with Epics like Nightwielder for pure wrath.

Until there's a reason for the sudden reappearance of Atium, given that he said that while working on AoL I think it's safe to say that at the very least they're not around during AoL I'm not ruling out their eventual reappearance but for now I'm going with them being unlikely. A link to Elantris means nothing about Atium, and the only similarity to Hathsin is that it's called a 'pit', hardly convincing. The final metal would logically be either Nicrosil or Chromium, not Atium which has been known since they thought there were only 10 not 18. Lerasium? Chromium? Nicrosil? Also the presence of Atium doesn't mean the pits reappeared, we know that Marsh has Atium still, Atium still exists, doesn't mean the pits do.
-
The implication that they may appear is certainly there but Brandon does stuff like that all the time, it's just to keep options open and keep readers guessing. That he left the option open doesn't strongly imply either way that they will eventually become relevant again all the WoB says is that for now they definitely aren't.
-
VO1DUS is now a member. It's been a while since I've played, hope to play some of you soon!
-
I imagine the reusage of the term 'pits' is simply cultural, we might call them caves but the culture that named them had previously called something similar the pits and so established a naming convention. I think a vague similarity in naming doesn't trump a direct contradiction through WoB.

In terms of Familiars for Inquisitors/Paladins how are they usually found? By the individual or does the order find them and present them to likely candidates?- 314 replies
