  1. Voidus spared a glance for the newcomer and his strange, glowing rifle. He kept himself motionless as the rifle was trained on him at Winter's insistence, a gleam of light sped between the two and a spike was quickly embedded in Voidus' chest. He spared it a glance, trained eyes quickly determining the metals content. "Pure silver, very few impurities. You might want to try aluminium against allomancers in future." Voidus advised, pulling the stake from the centre of his chest. The wounds began to close before it was even completely removed. A quick push sent the spike back the way it had come.
  2. Charging a spike with someone else's Cadmium makes that person need to breathe a lot less (Not at all) using that spike would then allow you to store and subsequently tap breath.
  3. The soldiers guided MV and her sister down the streets. The twins walked hand in hand, they'd given up taking down anything unless it was about to attack them, after the first few had been thrown to the ground both twins had found themselves suddenly irritated and had silently agreed to save their powers. "Where are we going?" she asked one of the soldiers for the fifth time. He sighed. At least not threatening to exterminate them he shot her an irritated glance. "It's an outpost, should be a couple of Epics there that can look after you, Lucy's on duty today I think, she's a good sort." Lucy? What kind of Epic lets people use their name like that? Then again considering this city she probably just counts herself lucky she hasn't been shot. The noise in the city was growing slowly louder as they neared the outpost, not just the squeals of the pigs either but the roars and trumpeting of much larger animals. She looked towards Alison with concern, her sister returned the glance, gripping her hand tightly. "Don't know what we'll find when we get there." Impact said. "Be ready for anything." MV nodded. I hope Backtracks ok. She thought as they turned another corner. He's so helple... the thought trailed off as she saw what was causing the noise at the borders of the city. A veritable horde of animals was pressing on the city, a living sea that seemed to be attempting to swallow the Dalles in it's wake. A group of Panda's spotted them, led by an elephant. A sparking elephant. Their guards hesitated only a moment before opening fire, hitting several pandas, their black and white fur staining with red. The Pandas however were not unarmed, arrows burst from their midst, one guard took an arrow to the throat and collapsed, the other taking several to the chest. He dropped his gun in surprise, fingering the shard of wood piercing his body, his fingers dripping with red when he pulled them away. MV screamed as their guards both died, she immediately spread he power out in front of her, forming a barrier which stopped all further arrows, sending their momentum into the ground beneath her feet, the arrows hanging suspended in mid-air. Megan Pierce stared in astonishment at the scene before her, a rapid stomping approaching them quickly jolted her out of her surprise as an elephant charged towards them, it struck her barrier and immediately froze, its momentum sucked from it by MVs abilities. The concrete slab beneath her cracked as it absorbed the shock, pieces of it flying off behind her, in seconds it had been entirely blown away by the force of the beasts charge, MV tripped as her footing was suddenly removed, her barrier dropping in an instant the elephant resumed its charge flying straight towards Impact with incredible speed. MV watched in terror as the beasts tusks struck her twin, Impact immediately blew the tusks away with her own powers but not before they'd put a gash in her arm. "Alison!" MV yelled, watching her sister do combat with a creature easily 10 times her size. Impact backed away from the creature as its head turned back to her again, she'd never even seen an elephant before today except on tv. Watching something on the discovery channel and having that thing charge towards you, weighing several tons turned out to be very different experiences. "Meg! Run!" She yelled, her instinct as always to keep her sister out of trouble. The creature took another swipe at her, this time she was ready though, sending a surge of her power into her hands she struck the elephants tusk, breaking it clean off. She had not however reckoned on the momentum that such a large creature would produce, even as it screeched in pain it's body crashed into her, sending both of them to the ground. The moment they hit Impact felt another surge of power well within her, by reflex she pushed herself against the elephant to remain upright, when her own weight began to crush her she pushed against the elephant too, using all the force her abilities granted her she pushed against it, using her power on herself was not something Impact had ever tried before, let alone at the same time as something this large but in her fear she sent a huge wave of power into them both, realizing her mistake only a second too late. The elephant flew backwards, dead before it hit the ground as the force of her push caved its chest in. What she had not thought about was that once the elephant was gone, the force of her push had nothing to oppose it, and so she flew into the air, carried away from her sister by her own power.
  4. Charge* I believe is the verb for filling a spike actually, tap is for metalminds. Of course once a spike is charged it will need to be tapped.
  5. Voidus watched the wolfkindred in amusement, through the use of Allomancy she soared towards the panda. Iron? Did we give her that? Voidus closed his eyes mentally scanning through the hundreds of files of DA experiments. Hmm.. must have been natural, I don't know how we missed that in her screening. A pity she left after that party, we could have done with some more research subjects. Voidus pulled himself towards the skyscraper, burning pewter as he hit. A quick half-lashing held him suspended in the air as he watched the myriad combatants. He just hoped no one here had any kind of Investiture relating to fire, healing from burns hurt. Alot. Decapitation was the only thing Voidus had experienced worse than being burned and that only because growing an entire body was Spiking long.
  6. The Dark Alley would like to point out that Zucchinis are high in Iron and Zinc... I wonder how those metals got in there.
  7. A burst of fire lit the room briefly, at their center a metal plaque formed before falling to the ground next to Queen Elsa. To her Highness, Elsa Steelheart, Queen of Newcago, sovereign of ice and Epic, I do hope that this missive finds you, a new experiment in the combination of Fabrial science and Hemalurgy, the wavelengths were a bit tricky to synchronize and the pulses from different Shardic Investitures were a nightmare but I think we finally managed it. The Dark Alley is having a spot of bother with some newcomers trying to disrupt our market share, while we do appreciate the sponsorship and relationship between the Newcago court and the Dark Alley we do request that these differences be allowed to settle without outside intervention. While we do not ask for any assistance we would appreciate a pledge of non-intervention so that the alley may be allowed to settle these differences of opinion and resolve certain disputes with our less-than-happy former-ally the wolfkind known as Winter. Hoping you are well, Voidus, First Lurker of the Alleys, Head of Sales
  8. The Anti-Bakery, the latest addition to the social guilds has been formed with the express intent of opposing the Dark Alleys. While it may be tempting to simply laugh at such futile endeavors I strongly recommend that you also fill a Feruchemical cadmium spike so that you may continue to laugh while not worrying about such mundane concerns as stopping to breathe.
  9. A flash upon the battlefield announced Voidus' arrival, his skin glowing with the silver of an Elantrian. He pulled a metallic Aonic symbol from a pocket and placed it on the Atium spike on his shoulder, causing it to vanish instantly into a pocket dimension. His skin returned to it's usual pale white. "It is not advisable to pick a fight with the Dark Alley" Voidus said quietly, his powerful soothings bestowing him with an aura of menace.
  10. I don't see how, the spears are meant to be solid so it makes sense they'd be blocked by the force field. Prof would heal from the wounds even if they could penetrate his forcefield, it just means that instead of the shadows directly trapping prof that he'd trap himself in his own forcefields.
  11. I've been replaying Portal 2 and I'm just about to reach that scene
  12. Wow so you guys posted like 6 pages last night :S Well if someone wants to kill him again then sure! Although I still haven't named his last personality.
  13. Grandmaster: Can cause chess pieces to grow and become animated, limited to one full set of pieces at a time. Ballitzo: Can surround herself with a form-fitting force field capable of vaporizing anything it touches, including organic matter. Viscera: Can manipulate atmospheric pressure, in combat creates a small ball of incredibly dense air which she feeds to her opponent, then allows it to expand again. Vitae: Capable of animating any representations of living organisms, however has no control over the organisms personality once it is animated. (Eg. Could turn a statue of an angel into an actual angel but it may try immediately to kill him)**Possibly remove the lack of control on this one, it was just a thought to keep him as a minor Epic** Some random selection that could be appropriate.
  14. Transmutation could be cool, turning things into water in an expanding ring around his body, possibly with some water-related secondaries.
  15. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Chronology#Events_on_Roshar
  16. 1167 I believe, I did a lot of work on the chronology on the Coppermind ages ago but I could be wrong.
  17. I suppose it could work, although I think the Protagonist would have to suffer an identical psychological condition to just go along with it. "Not as interesting? Oh no! Edgedancer's approval has gone down by five!"
  18. Somewhat, although his powers are significantly less powerful While those are the names he gives to his powers the actual technical aspect of it is: Primary: Instantaneous teleportation through any non-gaseous material Secondary: EM radiation manipulation and interpretation, capable of large range 'illusions' through the manipulation of light although his skill with illusions is very low, limited to providing light sources for the most part. By creating radio waves instead of visible light he can use this power as a form of radar. Tertiary: Geospatial awareness, precise knowledge of where he is and the rough geography of the area around him. Passive: Resurrection He can adjust his radar to either short or long range, the short range is only about 100 metres but can pick up things like people and animals, his long range can only pick up larger objects like buildings and cars but could extend for a few miles.

  20. Collaborative Connel post between Mail-mi, Mailliw and Voidus (Pt 1. of 3) Maodun split up from the Architect, leaving the still fuming Epic to gather his own squad of soldiers. Maodun summoned his troop with a wave of his hand. The group of soldiers immediately lining up in front of him, Sergeant Wilson taking position behind Maodun. “Unknown assailants attacking the city” Maodun said tersely to his troops. “Word from Hundredeyes has yet to reach us so we don’t know if any Epics are among them but should any hostiles exhibit signs of Epic abilities disengage immediately and radio it in, leave them to me.” Maodun nodded his dismissal and the soldiers fanned out behind him, most clutching rifles however Sergeant Wilson and two others instead unsheathed sabres and pulled small bucklers off their backs. “You three are with me” He grunted to them as the troop marched towards the sounds of gunfire, the three flanked Maodun forming a shieldwall to distract the enemy while the rest of his soldiers flanked them. Shields weren’t much protection against bullets but they were something, people tended to focus their fire on the man in the centre who had no shield, and once they realized he was an Epic they tended to run. Maodun grinned, shaking off the boredom that had been plaguing him as they drew within sight of a group of soldiers firing at some forms frozen on the ground. He felt no sympathy for the foolish members of the guard who had been caught by their enemies. Maodun took the shorter, throwing spear from it’s sheath on his back as he ran towards the enemies who were now taking note of him. He lobbed the spear as his power wrapped around it, tearing straight through one of the soldiers and into the ground behind him. Pulling out his longer spear Maodun gave a primal scream as he and his three charged towards the soldiers. Smasher saw a man, holding two spears, flanked by three men with shields and sabers, come out of the building. A squad of soldiers assembled behind the four in front. The one in front without any protection had to be an Epic. No one sees force fields and confidently enters battle with just two spears. War Smasher watched as the Epic threw the shorter of the spears and it tore straight through one of Smasher's commandos and went into the ground. He must have some kind of super strength or force enhancing power. Smasher created a small force field around himself and ignored the other soldiers that attacked him. He made eye contact with the Epic and nodded. He dropped his force fields and, with fully densified fists, leaped at the Epic and slammed a gloved fist into his face. The Epic didn't start bleeding or even appear to be injured. Smasher realized that he had impervious skin or something of the sort. As Smasher was confused, the spear managed to slice his side. While fully densified, Smasher shouldn't be able to be harmed. He went intangible immediately and encased the Epic in a force field. Metalmech surveyed the gates of Connell through the slits of his mask. There was a serene feeling about destruction, something one couldn’t find anywhere else. Even better than the death of vanillas was the crumbling of once-well-supported structures; better than the screams were the crunching sounds. Metalmech stood back as Jag took care of the human guards, focusing himself. He closed his eyes and found the Place inside of him, the Place where it was only him and his machines. His tank took full shape in his mind, all of the mechanics and weaponry were his to command. The tank was his slave, and he? He was its master. Metalmech snapped his eyes open and commanded the tank forward, thrusting forward with his arms. The gesture wasn’t necessary, but it made him feel more in control. The tank rolled forward, a large piece of steel slowly protruding from the front, thick and round like a battering ram from the olden days. And that’s exactly what it was. Picking up speed, the tank rammed into the gates, causing the entire structure to shudder. Once, twice, three times more, and the entire structure collapsed, metal crumpling, concrete crumbling. Metalmech changed his mask to a slight grin, relishing in the destruction, the crashing like music to his ears. Immediately, guns started firing out of the now open gates. Metalmech tensed up, closing his hands into tight fists, and the guns jammed up, some of them exploding on their users. The tank’s barrel rotated and shot at a group of enemy soldiers, killing some and knocking others backwards. “Alright, Jag,” he said over his mobile. “We’re in. What’s next?” Jag finished with the dozen or so guards he had fought while Metalmech brought out the battering ram. He smashed the tank into the gate, crushing it completely. Jag cut off the head of the last guard and jumped back into the Lightning, his commandos following suit. "Let's go. Straight to the steel factory. Anything in the way, level it," Black Jaguar said over the mobile to Metalmech. He drove over the rubble of the gate and into the city. The tank was able to take care of any building or structure in the way. None of the buildings here were very big or strong. Connell wasn't meant to last against Epics. Jag knew that this town would crumble in his hands. As they approached the factory, Jag used his heat vision to scan for people in the building. It seemed vacated while masses of people were on either side, fighting Hawking and War Smasher. "Blow the building and then go to Smasher. I'll aid Hawk," Jag told the technomancer.
  21. I think the running theory is that you just use the spike with the Allomantic spiritweb attached, not a whole person. There's some interesting stuff going on with the Southern Scadrians and Allomantic technology so hopefully we'll see it in the next trilogy.
  22. <------ I should point out at this point that the first lurker of the dark alley has a pony dp.
  23. Strangely enough, yes! He suffers from a dissociative derealization disorder, after Calamity appeared he began to suffer under the delusion that he'd begun living in a video game, when he was granted his powers this belief became even stronger. He suffers from many delusions and hallucinations including the above mentioned. Most of these are in no way linked to any real abilities, he's not actually able to tell if someone has anything to say but will frequently bug people until they tell him something. Occasionally he gets annoyed and just shoots the person saying he'll come back once they've respawned. He's also known to: exclaim "Checkpoint!" Whenever entering or leaving a building or area, believe that he has to choose from options on a hallucinatory dialogue wheel during conversation, call Vanillas NPCs, exclaim in wonderment at the reality of the graphics when entering a new place.
  24. Newan got it from a signing, I heard it through a PM, not sure if it's been posted anywhere though.
  25. Another Epic I'm considering for Astoria unless he fits in elsewhere: Adventurer: Primary power: Toolazyfordooranimations- Capable of teleporting instantaneously to the other side of a barrier, uses this ability to never actually open doors for the most part, however can also teleport to the other side of a wall or use it on the ground and teleport into a nearby cavern. Secondary: Shaders- capable of creating either a point light source in his hand to act as a torch or creating an ambient lighting to light whatever room he's in. Tertiary: Minimap- geospatial awareness and radar capabilities. Quaternary: Reload!Reload!- Resurrection capabilities. Before anyone asks, no his weakness is not being shot with an arrow to the knee
