Hey welcome to the forums, if you've read Steelheart you could check out the Reckoners RP we host on the forums, if not I'm sure I'll see you around somewhere since I'm usually lurking in the RP subforum anyway Would you care for a welcome cookie?

That's what you get for refreshing the page less often than once every 1.5 seconds I think with one he's kind of trying to adapt to the other system by equating the term 'High Epic' with what he'd previously called a 'Prime Invincibility' so while according to that definition of a High Epic some lorists still might classify Regalia as a High Epic due to her Astral projection he doesn't classify her as having a PI and so doesn't translate that as being a high Epic. Or at least that's how I took it. I do kind of feel like it's a bit handwavy but I'm happy to accept that it was necessary to avoid weaknesses being too obvious and try to rationalize it somehow.

I am really happy with the answers too, and I can't believe I didn't think of that with Steelheart as a clue for the Nightwielder question.

Welcome to the 17th Shard, home of the insane, the awesome and the awesomely insane. Can I interest you in a welcome-cookie?

I wish more people asked Reckonerverse questions :/

I suspect that questions 10-100 will likely be repeats of the same request for ARCs. We need them! You know for the RP and stuff.
-
11. You know what? Getting ARCs would mean we'd still have to wait. Is there any way you can narrate everything you're writing as you write it and podcast it to us?

This is a good thought, Atium spikes decay less so it's certainly possible that a direct infusion of investiture would help minimize decay, might be worth adding to the list of questions to ask Brandon.
-
Just saw and added them, thanks Mailliw! Also it reminded me we should probably include Vanillas of importance since it's more of a who's who than just a powerlist, so if I could get some profiles of team Funacid that would be amazingtastic. *Imagine a picture of a cute pug with pleading eyes here since I'm on my phone*

Thanks everyone for adding summaries to the doc, the master list of characters is finally starting to live up to its name. Also new Epic and potential candidate for the coveted 'And then they died' list: Epic Name: The hated one (He has never adopted a name of his own, this is simply what everyone else calls him) Appearance: Unknown, if the hated one's appearance ever became publicly known then all the forces of the world would unite in an attempt to destroy him. Primary power: Darkness-lego conversion: The hated one is capable of turning any patch of unseen darkness into lego blocks to stick into the feet of the unwary. Secondary power: Shoe removal- The hated one passively destroys all shoes within a 10km radius of himself, leaving feet completely unprotected against his malicious powers.

I would also like to state that while there's no WoB confirming it I still totally choose to subscribe to the carrot-Hoid hypothesis as it will now forever be known
-
Yeah a quick search later revealed that I was completely wrong on this and it was always planned Probably just another WoB that only existed in a weird dream I had, like that one time I was sure I remembered reading that Brandon said Hoid was actually a vegetable
-
The one method of physical compression mentioned: Black holes would probably do it, my point was just that you can't physically compress metals, unless you change their atomic makeup they're as dense as they're going to be.
-
Not really, solid matter doesn't compress well and if you did it'd likely change the nuclear makeup of the atoms resulting in it no longer being allomantically viable.

1. I imagine that this has somewhat to do with the Shardholders filtering the Intent a bit, Ati didn't want to be evil he was just warped by his Shards intent so I imagine that allowed him a certain amount of leeway with seemingly going against the intent in order to bring about greater ruin. Leras meanwhile may have simply not been able to rationalize destryoing things with the intent of preserving them, I suppose the other point is that if you preserve something you can always destroy it later, once somethings destroyed it's difficult and in a lot of cases impossible to put it back together. 2. I don't believe so, I'm relatively certain it keeps decaying once the piece of spiritweb is no longer attached to a living spirit. I think that Hemalurgic decay is much less rapid than we've been led to believe but I also think we have WoB that it reaches a minimum threshold, I imagine it as asymptotically approaching zero so it would still provide some power which may be enough to pierce copperclouds. 3. Yeah you need the correct bindpoint and intent, transmuting powers like that definitely shouldn't be possible just through bindpoint placement although I wouldn't be surprised if there were some way to do it with perhaps an Atium spike. 4. I'm not entirely sure if we ever got a WoB on it but yes that's the commonly believed theory on his pushes.

I seem to recall an interview where he said it was just an accident actually, but I might be misremembering. I'll try to find it either way though.
-
Certainly possible but if he did I think he would have made use of one or both of them, while Kels might have gone unnoticed I doubt TLRs would have. Given that the spears would have been steel it would have been one of the physical allomantic metals so we probably would have noticed an Inquisitor with TLR levels of Allomancy.

The world is not ready for the battle of two such overwhelming forces of destruction.

The files of Metronome Steelheart: He thinks he's so great, just wait until I show him my awesome powers! Newton: Turn me down for a date will you? I'll teach you better with my awesome powers! Every entry contains the phrase 'my awesome powers!'

You guys made over 100 posts while I was sleeping... I'm so proud of you all It's unfortunate that Brandon seems to mostly be answering cosmere and writing questions (Oh how I loathe writing questions, he's answered them all at least a dozen times already, look it up!) e-hugs to all!

Well the Nightwielder one's the one that's bugged me the most but the one about David's system or the one about power relation to history would probably be more useful. In short, I have no idea

Should we brainstorm some questions to ask? Such as: Why doesn't UV light pierce Nightwielders blanket over Newcago but it does pierce the shadow tendrils he attacks David with? Did David originally have a different definition of a High Epic than just an Epic with a PI? Are powers also linked to events in the Epics past? Can we all please get ARC copies of Calamity?
