  1. My problem with Harry is that he isn't even the actual doppelganger of the RF, he's the doppelganger of the original Wells who none of them ever actually knew, yet everyone treats him like they expect him to go on a murderous rampage any second, Joe even tries to shoot him (Which is particularly stupid because it would only possibly hurt him if he wasn't the RF).
  2. Did the Inquisitors even use tin spikes? They don't have eyes so that negates the most useful aspect of tin.
  3. I'll never assume that someone is disagreeing with me just because they're a jerk, if everyone agreed with me all the time all of my conversations would be way more boring, nothing like trying to convince someone of a theory to get me excited On the natural disasters I'm inclined to agree that he caused the chasm but WoB has been vague on the point, it happened a long time after he left and Brandon still hasn't confirmed that it was caused by him. It could have been caused by a big enough splinter of Devotion or Dominion, in which case his vaguery would make sense since the splinter was caused by odium but not the disaster itself.
  4. So I've started voting for the Dark Alleys in the featured forum members thread and been told that if we win we'll need three Lurkers to answer questions. But I'll probably just post the questions here and get everyone input since the DA doesn't really have leaders, although we do have a few much more active members like Fatebreaker and Ostrich.
  5. With the latest spike I'm technically 594 people. Is that ok?
  6. If you can think of a better way to make an N-dimensional hyper-volume and rotate it through imaginary space that doesn't involve Hemalurgy we're all ears.
  7. Clearly you've never used a bluetooth headseat, damned things dig into your ear and are so annoying it's impossible to think they do anything but pierce right through your soul.
  8. Can I vote for the Dark Alleys? They gave me a place to sleep, research and murder people bake cookies.
  9. Yeah I remember the same quote though I don't think it was from the Annotations, probably a WoB that hasn't been added to the database.
  10. On that count I agree, other than the fact that on the subject of his immortality he's too paranoid to risk it I think he'd make use of the time that he would otherwise be sleeping plus it's a nice extra trick to add to his bag of evidence that he's god.
  11. Yeah the lighting/shadows is something I'm really trying to work on, I can usually get the perspective close to accurate for the solid stuff but I keep messing up with shadows, so in this one now that I'm looking at it again the shadow on the wall at the back is too wide and dense. Textures are something I'm actually not too bad at, I just haven't gone over this piece with them yet but I do think it needs some more texture now. Thanks for the feedback, this is the first thing I've shown anyone since I was in 8th grade so I'm mostly just happy that everything was recognizable and you didn't think it was supposed to be a frog or something.
  12. Wayne would be pretty useless in this fight, his preferred tactic of getting into melee range works mostly because people in AoL times are used to fighting at range with guns, Kal is a master of the spear so as soon as Wayne closed in to try to take him out, Kal would probably stab him a few times, be surprised when he heals, maybe take a couple of hits but ultimately kill Wayne pretty easily. Wax vs. Kal is interesting, I'm kind of inclined to give the win to Wax, he has a gun, and a bullet is in flight for far less time than an arrow is so gravity wouldn't affect it much, particularly a shot at short-mid range, so a Reverse Lashing wouldn't do much. Also, Kal wouldn't know what a gun is and wouldn't recognize the threat it poses so he'd probably take a few shots before he realized to dodge it and Wax is used to fighting thugs whose abilties are pretty similar to a Stormlight-enhanced Radiant other than Radiants rapid-healing. I imagine Wax would just keep it to a fight at range where he has the advantage, if Kal Lashes towards him Wax can Push his way back to keep it that way so I'd say Wax. It can still be burned too, so that doesn't quite follow.
  13. Yeah being strong is more likely to benefit you from tapping rather than storing (Assuming feruchemy works on percentage multipliers), since being twice as strong is more useful if you're already twice as strong as most people.
  14. When you're learning Spanish, German and Russian simultaneously and then the next time you watch anime you wonder if you should pick up Japanese, or Japanese, Korean and Chinese. When people ask you if you've watched the news and you reply yes before launching into the latest scientific breakthroughs because science news websites are the only ones you use and you check them 5 times a day. When you express how much you love a piece of sci-fi or fantasy literature, show or movie by ruthlessly exposing every single flaw in it to anyone who will listen. (Except for Brandons books, which have no flaws, you show how much you love those by being a Sharder and having more friends on the Shard than you do in real life)
  15. I imagine it also has to do with your body's survival instinct, burning metals can help you stay alive, Elend managed to burn pewter only seconds after becoming a Mistborn to help him live through being stabbed. Storing in a metalmind only weakens your body so it makes sense that you can't do that unconsciously, tapping however could be just as useful as burning a metal so it makes sense that it could definitely be possible.
  16. I felt the same when I hit Inquisitor back when my DP was a photoshop of me with Inquisitor spikes.
  17. A couple of notes: Odium didn't go to Sel 10 years before Elantris So it may have been caused by him, but not directly and he was around a long time before it actually happened. Also people who hold a Shard are Shardholders, Shardbearers is the Alethi term for people with Plates and Blade (Just a bit of nitpicking) Also there's nothing to say that Odium has to stick around after Stormlight, that I know of the only major series set significantly after Stormlight is the third Mistborn trilogy which could very well focus on the people of the cosmere rather than Shards, or it could introduce the God Beyond, someone attempting to reuinite Adonalsium, Bavadin causing trouble, plenty of potential story without Odium.
  18. Well given the above quote about Inquisitors being more likely to have Allomancer children then I think it'd be a fair assumption that Kandra blessings would likewise be inherited. Do you mean a Kandra breeding with a human? Or a Kandra breeding with another Kandra? If the former I imagine they'd be human, though probably one with some odd mental outlooks on the world, I don't know if they'd be smarter than most people (Since Kandra spikes grant sentience) or dumber since they're naturally part Mistwraith which aren't sentient. If the latter I imagine it would just be a spike-less Kandra.
  19. Also I think someone else mentions the one=breath command for Lifeless since it allows armies to basically double themselves. Which would mean it's still pretty common knowledge. Also as mentioned Clod was a one-Breath Lifeless. Granted though it's been ages since I've read Warbreaker so my memory on it isn't great.
  20. Only at the start at which point you don't need to be tapping Atium all the time, after that you could just keep compounding it.
  21. You get 1 back for 1 but if you increase the rate you draw the power back at you need to spend some of the power to compress it. (Brandon's not referring to the Allomancy + Feruchemy type of compounding here btw, he's just referring to the process of tapping faster than you store, which for some confusing reason he also decided to call compounding )
  22. Well to start with if they could they'd lose the ability to change back, you can't have completely human genetics and still be able to alter your DNA and muscle structure, that's not an ability that humans have and given that Mistwraiths do the same thing it's clearly a genetic ability that exists outside of any spiritual alterations provided by Hemalurgy.
  23. 1) They have a fluid musculature, that's not the same as changing their genetics. 2) Humans, which Koloss and Inquisitors are created from can breed while Koloss couldn't until Harmony altered them. 3) I don't recall any such mention, but given that kandra-revealing liquid exists I'd be highly skeptical that they change much, maybe they could make it more similar but I'd highly doubt it would be similar enough to breed.
  24. Harmony had to alter the Koloss to allow them to breed true, unless he did the same for the Kandra I don't think they'd be able to breed with each other, let alone humans. Unlike Koloss Kandra were altered genetically even before they were stabbed with Hemalurgic spikes, they're an entirely separate species so I seriously doubt they could have any children with humans even if Harmony altered their genetics a bit. On a side note, Brandon actually said that Inquisitors children would have a better chance of being Allomancers.
  25. I'm really not a great artist but I'm trying to improve a bit so I can do more concept art, texturing and modelling for games. For those interested the latest piece I'm working on:
