Random Stuff VII: The Admins Awaken

But I need someone to finish it so I can talk about it. Why can't RL ever understand that sometimes you just need to read a book? -

Agreed, though I make an exception for strawberry and chocolate, natural cocoa is actually not that great and while strawberries are nice I generally prefer artificial strawberry to the genuine article. -

And thus you have revealed that you are actually an alien intent on conquering earth. -

If only he had allied with an Epic who could turn him into banana flavoured. No one likes artificial banana flavour. -
Topic was hidden for a bit while I checked, this one's fine. We even have a news article on the same thing now.

Random Stuff VII: The Admins Awaken

I just finished Calamity, thought the ending where it turned out Calamity was actually a giant jellybean was pretty clever and eating him to rid the world of corruption was a nice touch. Oh yeah, sorry spoilers. Maybe. Or maybe not. Guess you'll have to read it to find out. -
There's some evidence that he has Allomancy but not necessarily from that bead, Brandon has said that originally his intention was to burn it to become an allomancer, with some implication that that's not what he ended up doing. Or it could be a red herring to throw us off, you never can tell.

Just finished, a good read with plenty of juicy tidbits but I was a little disappointed with the ending to be honest. Anyone else care to share their thoughts?

But the energy isn't fired, his power is restricted to ammunition not the gun itself.
-
It's treating you like that but you retain the density you always had which is enough to not be crushed by air pressure. As mentioned the difference between the atmospheric pressures at varying heights is what causes buoyancy.

I'd recommend waiting til after BoM for full enjoyment.

The cookies may have embedded pieces of metal that have previously pierced someones heart and stolen a piece of their soul but hey, free magic. I've only got the ebook so I'm not entirely sure but I don't think there are any hard copies of Secret History yet. Do you mean a section in Secret History or a section in the forum? Because there's the Mistborn or cosmere theories subforums for discussing allomancy/feruchemy mechanics but the book doesn't have a lot of new allomantic information.

Depends how the weight is changed, joints, muscles and cell chemistry could all change drastically depending on how exactly it changes.
-
Probably, I imagine it'd depend on certain cognitive factors, whether the metal was perceived to be a part of you or not but I'm inclined to say that it'd probably still weigh you down for most people in most situations.

Other than what's already been mentioned I should point out that Shards aren't intrinsically unable to use their powers just because they're effected by their Intent, that's pretty unique to Scadrial and occurs because Ruin and Preservation both directly opposed each other, it wasn't that they couldn't alter things it's that the other Shard blocked them when they tried. I'll also point out that while the magic systems do occur naturally the Shards do have some control over it, Preservation just caused the mists to snap Seers and I believe Malatium mistings instead of Pulsers and Sliders but that's arguably a change to the mists themselves not allomancy. However we do know that Sazed has been able to change how Snapping works so changes are definitely possible but it wouldn't be necessary for Odium to interfere to do so. Not sure I understand your point on Worldhopping but from what we know it's just using the cognitive realm and Shardpools, it has little to nothing to do with peoples perception of stars.

Hey thermal physics is important, we need it to understand how brass feruchemy might work Welcome to the forums! I also cannot recommend Mistborn: Secret History highly enough, it's absolutely awesome and is probably my favourite Sanderson book to date. Would you care for a welcome cookie?
