  1. Hemalurgy can be used anywhere by all accounts and yes it does require Intent, as Yata mentioned a couple of times this happened in Mistborn it was Ruin who was guiding events and so it was his Intent. (Spook getting a pewter spike, Vins earring, etc.)
  2. Given that it's one of the few games he's given pretty strong approval for I'd say most people who come to this thread will like both.
  3. I'll retcon that part if others want to though. Also, hope you don't mind that post, let me know if Victors reaction was unrealistic.
  4. Serenas eyes had only just returned to her book when the transfer student spoke up again. I am going to regret allowing this aren't I? Still, she didn't mind occasional conversation, books didn't hold all the knowledge in the world after all, some of it had to be pried from the minds of those who in some heinous act decided not to commit their knowledge to paper. And he was a transfer student after all, just someone curious about how things worked here and teaching others was something that gave Serena almost as much joy as teaching herself. Not quite since others never seemed to appreciate it as much as she did but still. "A prefects duties and responsible are multitude and of great importance to the school." She started, eyes glossing over slightly as she visualized the letter she had been sent the previous year. "They are obligated to act as mentors to other students, setting the very best of examples-" She felt a slight lurch, signalling that the train had departed the station, startling her briefly out of her rote speech. Looking over, she noticed the vacant look on Victors face as she recited the letter verbatim. No appreciation. She sighed softly before continuing. "We stop students from breaking rules and make ourselves available if students need help." She summarized.
  5. Wait, no! It's an Animagus cat that can turn into a pug. It's just forgotten how to turn back right now.
  6. Unfortunately something got messed up with dates so that's still about all we know Have to wait til next week to find out now.
  7. Pattern maybe could? Others probably not. Its also not terribly likely that theyd be pointing guns at each other.
  8. Mrs. Voidus and I are off to get an ultrasound, and we can finally find out what the baby is. :D :D
  9. Maybe? I think I remember something like that.
  10. I've always offered cookies to everyone. I think I even got Zas at some point.
  11. Lightweavers as far as we know have to touch something to Soulcast it, and the one Lightweaver we know of isn't particularly good at Soulcasting even under those circumstances, so unless she throws herself infront of the Windrunner there're going to be some problems. Also, since neither have Shardplate they're almost certainly going to have some metal on them, which means coinshots and Lurchers can actually deal with them pretty easily. Jasnah could potentially be a pretty big source of annoyance but she'd have to know where everything is and unless she plans on never sleeping again she's still not going to be able to deal with most of the army, sure she could make life annoying, start fires, soulcast food, etc. but she can't exactly Elsecall into every single tent and change every gun into a teddybear or anything. And it still doesn't do much against all of the allomancers and Ferrings. And if the Scadrians even got one Soulcaster then they can instantly counter by simply remaking whatever she unmakes.
  12. While in mid-air? WIthout knowing what they are? And somehow ripping them off without just getting shoved away? That seems somewhat unlikely, particularly since there's only one each of Elsecallers and Lightweavers that we know of, neither of whom are combatants, and they'd probably lose both, significantly weakening themselves. If they want to get shot while doing so then sure, and again they'd not really even know what they are. And opening up covert warfare is something Rosharans really don't want to do against a group whose magic users have powers that were literally designed for pulling off capers.
  13. That would probably be the Rosharans win pretty easily, only the Inquisitors and Mistborn could fight the KR and they'd be pretty outnumbered. TLR would obviously turn it in an instant but if we said he wasn't participating then I'd give that one to Roshar. Though if he's so focused on the well it does beg the question of why he sent an army to Roshar.
  14. Burn Atium to see what's about to happen, then store mental speed so by the time you react it's already happening. You have just invented normal reflexes.
  15. Yeah the day needs to end before more arena battles happen, unless they're in flashbacks.
  16. I'm actually not entirely sure they could use medallions, we're still not entirely clear on how they work and part of it might require a connections to Scadrial. Given how much genetics has to do with Scadrian magic I'd say it's a definite possibility. Spikes would work, though I don't see any way for them to learn how unless an Inquisitor defected for some reason.
  17. Yup, gold can heal spiritual injuries just fine. I believe some still had it, Marsh did even before he got a bunch of cool new spikes. Atium they almost certainly had, TLR had plenty of it and they were allomancer hunters. EDIT: Fortunately the double post carried onto a new page so no harm done
  18. Close range would probably be pretty boring actually, either the Inquisitor has speed in which case they instantly win, or they don't in which case they get killed pretty quickly. Or they have Atium in which case, again they instantly win. If they got coins embedded in the shield that just gives the Inquisitor something to push/pull on, pinning them, shoving them off balance, etc.
  19. That's one of the slightly more evenly matched scenarios but it leaves Scadrial with an army of magical warriors and Roshar with a very small number of people with slightly enhanced physical abilities as well as magic swords. I mean full honesty, Wax alone could level half a Rosharan army, steelpush down on them all while massively tapping weight and there goes all their weapons and half of them just got crushed by their armour. It's basically come down to Shardbearers and the odd KR vs. the entire Scadrian army, a large number of whom are Mistings, Ferrings or both.
  20. No it didn't, but it's insanely easy to create one, it's not even possible for every soldier to have all surges or for all spren to be the Stormfather. If you'd rather they only enter with what they had then ok they enter with TLR, a Fullborn of unknown identity but is probably Kelsier and Wax with the bands. Those three immediately on entering Roshar create three more bands, then give them to three soldiers. Those 6 then create 12 bands, those 12 then create 24... And TLR being the kind of person he is turns them all into spikes too so he can control the others I guess. I wasn't talking about Shards actually but if you want to and you want everyone to be involved then technically Scadrial has 5 Preservations and two Ruins (Or 4 Preservations and 1 Ruin and 1 Harmony) Sorry to say but I think Inquisitors would destroy Shardbearers. They have mobility and range on their side. Shardbearers vs. Mistings could work I suppose, but there are way more Mistings than there are Shardbearers.
  21. It's also worth pointing out that Navanis elevators only work because they are stationary, you couldn't turn them into a hovercraft without a heck of a lot of difficulty. Scadrians arguably could with a rail line, but the actual craft would only go in one direction. And Scadrians actually do have access to flying transport.
  22. The full might is not the same as every figure from history, if you want to claim that it is the Scadrial gets Sazed, TLR, VIn, Kelsier, all the Inquisitors, the entire Koloss army, all of the Kandra and all of the Southern Scadrians and their technology. Also a bit confused as to why you think that Scadrial wouldn't be able to work out how Fabrials work even though they have vastly superior scholars and education but Rosharans would be able to analyze guns and work out how to produce enough of them to balance the scale in a tiny period of time. Also, sorry to say but TLR beats Nightblood any day of the week, yes Nightblood could probably successfully kill TLR but TLR has the advantage of not needing to be wielded. He could decimate their entire army in an instant, steal Nightblood from whoever was holding it and then hurl it into a nearby moon if he felt like it. Now give Scadrial access to their 'full might' and you're not just talking TLR either. If they were really giving it their all then every single member of the Scadrian army would have access to their own bands of mourning. Imagine an army of Lord Rulers. Now imagine that army with a knowledge of Hemalurgy too. Now imagine them with that and also an army of Koloss and a bunch of Kandra spies. Sorry, no matter what way you spin it Scadrial wins this fight in a heartbeat. The only way you could possibly spin a victory was if you had Scadrial from after TLRs death and before Sazeds Ascension against Roshar back when there were an organized force of Radiants and Heralds to lead them. And also force Scadrial to fight in open fields and never deploy Vin. And have them land in the middle of a Highstorm.
