A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The fact that they lack any sort of abilities involving stealth? Or the ability to blend in? And that Scadrian leaders would be guarded by people who (again) have guns. Also, sending your radiants and Shardbearers is a particularly terrible idea because there's no Stormlight on Scadrial, so they'd lose their Shards and the Radiants would all be pretty worthless, they'd get captured instead and then they'd have lost some of their best troops. -
On a related note: Is there any way to change the shortcut for to something other than b + )? Makes lists really annoying.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I meant the Scadrians in general rather than the Leecher but that is a more interesting visual to me so now I'm going to say that's what I meant and accept that the Leecher will die horribly. They didn't also have magic. Fabrials that don't exist, would need a long time to be produced, would be too expensive to use for more than a few seconds and wouldn't be shared between all princedoms anyway. You can't just take a gun apart to see how it works, I'm particularly smart and a student of science far more advanced than Roshar. Give me a firearm and I could tell you what a few parts of it do, I could not make one from scratch. -
Granted, in order for it to not be removed from your account you are arrested by the police and your bank accounts frozen. Also you didn't declare it on your tax. Chickens second wish.

I must admit that I know little to nothing about it, I know another Kemetic and I've talked to her a bit about it but I don't know anyone who holds Asatru (Asatrics? Asatruists? Not sure on the terminology there )

Yeah Iron and Steel can push on any metals, not just those that are magnetic. Another interesting question is, if you did the above, could you push/pull on other, non-aluminium objects caught in the field?

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Again if the Coinshot pushes on the blade then the only way they die is if the blade is pushed with full Duralumin force, which would indisputably get rid of the blade. And one Coinshot for one Shardbearer is more than in Scadrials favour. Why would they immediately die? Yes most people struggle to avoid a Shardblade but that's because they try to actually fight it, a Leecher is just trying to touch them, they don't need heavy armour or weapons. They sneak behind the Shardbearer and are faced with the personal guard, who they murder in three seconds because Scadrial has guns, and the Rosharan army, who are dying in the thousands because again, Scadrial has guns. Speaking of which, there was never really the solution to just sitting back and shooting the Shardbearer, bullets have a lot of momentum, they would crack plate pretty easily. A fabrial that was specially designed might work but aside from not knowing they need them and so they'd take weeks after the initial invasion to actually be produced, they'd run out of Stormlight so quickly they'd be practically useless. Again, you're assuming the pewterarm is a regular Rosharan soldier, thugs are way better at dodging than Shardbearers are used to. It does make sense, you just didn't get the implication. My point was that Rosharans have as much difficulty swinging their swords as we do, which means their muscles are adjusted to the weight of the swords as they exist on Roshar. Those swords would be much lighter to us since we're used to earth gravity, therefore Rosharans have strength proportional to their gravity. As mentioned, the Stormfather is both not a friend of Roshar and also not able to control Highstorms to that extent. -
I'm on mob at the moment but if Twi hasn't gotten around to it by tomorrow I'm happy to. Excellent, now we just need to reference her inheritance of the great bakeries of the DA

I'm inclined to agree but then of course she'll be a princess to me. Thanks! I was hoping for a girl, though obviously we were both happy whatever she was.

Random side-note: I already mentioned this in Random stuff but the Reckoners RP is my second family so I thought I'd share it here too, apologies for being one of those people who overshares stuff about their children Got the ultrasound yesterday and found out that Voidus Junior is a girl! Which leads to a problem of what to call them here, Lady Voidus? Princess Voidus? Mrs.Voidus Jr? EDIT: Side, side note: New around the cosmere segment due for the RP so if anyone has any ideas or favourite posts from the last month or so let me know!

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
No I mean all swords should feel like that, if a Shardblade is noticeably lighter than a normal sword then to us it would feel literally weightless, to Rosharans it obviously doesn't, so they have proportional strength. We see almost nothing of Vasher, also I don't believe we have WoB on Nalthis' size or gravity. Steelrunners can run very, very fast before hurting themselves. How much Investiture you have doesn't matter if you don't use it all, the Thrill is not a vastly overpowering emotion so Mistings will be able to supress or alter it. So if it was stronger then it could cause them to fight amongst themselves, a Misting could cause it to become stronger. -

Granted. So that none of your memories negatively affect your mind all emotions are removed from you. I wish to become a Slowbro but retain all of my memories, experiences and mental faculties.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
But they've struggled under what we would call equivalent weights, swords still seem heavy even though to us they would all feel incredibly light, they struggle to lift a body the same size as them, Bridgemen get severe exhaustion, etc. I believe we do have Scadrials from somewhere, I'll check quickly. And the Steelrunner can step over that blade lightly then stab them in the face, since to them that spinning blade is barely moving. Rioting and Soothing could easily prevent the Thrill from taking a hold at all, they tend to be a lot more subtle than is necessary because it produces better results, Soothers could definitely soothe more powerfully if they wanted to. Or a Rioter could run with the Thrill and elevate it to the point of Berserking the entire Rosharan army, leading them to slaughtering themselves. -
Subtheory: If a Dementor ever encountered Backtrack, the amount of fear it would absorb is so great it would cause it to explode. Conclusion: Backtrack is also the ultimate anti-dementor weapon. Subconclusion: Backtrack was born in the wrong universe.

Rubix is online, make Rubix do it? Sorry to be part of the distraction, though grading is boring enough for me that I'd probably welcome the distraction, then again I don't have to do it for my job so there's that.- 1963 replies

Depends at what point in time for a lot of them, Vin changes pretty drastically over time, notably with the acquisition of Duralumin. Marsh gains quite a lot of powers over time, going from being a simple Seeker to full Mistborn with a handful of feruchemical powers, does Vasher have Nightblood? Or Kalads phantoms? Depending on what point in time I'd probably give it to Marsh, with Raoden and Vin coming in a close second and third.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I was trying to be as generous as possible, but yeah that was somewhat my point, 5 minutes of normal time at 10x speed is basically like having time stopped for an hour, you can more than kill a Shardbearer in that time, you could swipe every Soulcaster the enemy has as well as murder most of their army.
