If you're talking about bouncing it off of a surface nearly parallel to the bullets flight path then yeah that's true, but what's being discussed is more likely to bounce it off maybe at a 90 degree angle at the most. Bouncing it off any less than that just result in the bullet bouncing off the armour and into the person inside it

Yeah Sabriel has an absolutely insane amount of abilities, she can puppet people, make them speak or stop speaking, kill them instantly, mind control them, make them instantly fall asleep or use charter magic to blast them into tiny pieces. And Mogget is literally an immortal god. I'm disappointed that Anomander lost too, it's the only matchup I would have actually accepted the Mistborn losing in other than to Sabriel. In this latest fight though (Legolas and Gimli vs. Allomancers) I'm pretty sure someone's trying to hack the poll, I was refreshing the page the yesterday and every refresh the LoTR team got one vote further ahead, so either a bunch of people decided to sequentially vote for only them or else one person is trying to cheat.

Well we know Nighthound is going to die eventually, in the most anticipated Reckoners RP scene of all time. We have no guarantee that Trump is ever going away. I say we take Nighthound and just all give Remington all the help he needs.

Not really, alkali metals are kindof difficult to keep, they have a habit of bursting into flames if you don't store them properly since the humidity in the air is still water. You need to keep them in a sealed container in a suspension of oil. Now a transmuter like Funtimes could do some things with them if she were so inclined.

Duralumin makes your next burn faster, a lot faster but that's meaningless for aluminium because as soon as you burn the slightest bit you wipe away the rest.
-
The problem is that 'normal speeds' is as fast as you can go, you can't store more than you have of something, you can't store your weight until you have negative weight. Storing is typically limited by how much is safe to store, not how much it's possible to store. Too much health and you die from a cold, too much strength and your heart can't beat, too much speed and you fall into a coma and probably have a heart attack, too much warmth and you freeze to death.

They don't use signals at all, the server can just read the data stored locally wherever it happens to be. Obviously conjecture but it would explain quite a bit.- 210 replies

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well the assumption in these kinds of fights is that the participants are willing, I mean realistically Scadrial has no reason to invade anyone, they have plentiful resources already in the basin and they're not exactly short on land either. But I also think you're overestimating Roshar there, they'd break a long time before Scadrial would. Assuming any kind of significant Scadrian force landed on Roshar their overwhelming victories would quickly shatter Alethkar back into princedoms, and divided like that there'd really be very little bloodshed needed at all. In the face of an overwhelmingly stronger military force I doubt any of the princedoms would put up significant resistance at all. -
I doubt it, as soon as you start burning the Aluminium you burn the rest of it away along with the Duralumin. Chromium could do something though, but I doubt it would be as dramatic as removing allomancy completely.

The server for the mobiles had the motivator, not the mobiles themselves. So my guess would be it was something along the lines of the power to interpret data on any electrical device.- 210 replies

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Well if we're arguing the diplomacy as well then Scadrial wins even more, they have an even longer history of politics, they have the overwhelming leverage in their military power and what they can offer and they also have people experienced in magical emotional manipulation. Roshar would lose this battle whether it's at the negotiating table or on the field. -

The difference being that Shardplate is completely brittle, deflecting bullets off at an angle is going to be just as problematic as taking them straight on, the force still hits the plate which will still crack it. Shardplate doesn't get pierced it gets shattered.

A war between Scadrial (era 2) and Roshar
Voidus replied to Bowiespoon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I think you're underestimating Scadrials military tactics a bit there. To start with as I mentioned earlier Roshars military tactics are worse than useless against Scadrial, Scadrial will be fighting in a way completely unfamiliar to Roshar, one of the strategies we know of from Alethi armies is to have a Shardbearer charge in at the fore and lay waste, demoralizing the enemy. That is going to backfire tremendously against an army equipped primarily with firearms, the Shardbearer will collapse before they kill a single person which will end up demoralizing the Rosharans instead. But more importantly TLR kept a standing army, Vin and Elend had another army, plenty of nobles will have studied military tactics and Sazed left behind metalminds which certainly had some information in them. Plus they have military tactics that Roshar can't have, knowledge of how to deploy firearms and advanced weaponry. Roshar might be more skilled at how to deal with Shardbearers or Parshendi but Scadrial has neither, they fight in a completely unfamiliar way and have magic that Rosharans couldn't dream of. -
Wait what? I missed the writeup for them but someone said Garet Jax would lose a swordfight? That is literally impossible. He's a combination of Achilles, Hercules and Lan rolled into one unbeatable fighter. The same way you deal with Steelrunning Inquisitors? Only better. And if they have Atium then it's more of an advantage than anything, stick a dagger out and let them teleport into it.
