  1. Well if anyone wanted to I have some plans for inflicting large-scale destruction in Portland and the Dalles at least. Although the Portland one would either need a fair bit of set up if I do it one way or else approval from a few different people.
  2. There'd need to be an awful lot of chaos to keep them distracted enough, the government just has more Epics to deal with problems that there are antagonists to make problems so there's bound to be someone free to put down a militia or two. Well it's sort of the whole RPs endgame, not Rainmaker necessarily but eventually the state is going to get destroyed. But no, there were no plans that I know of for that, it just seems like the logical move if it seemed the government was losing the city.
  3. I wouldn't say he's that powerful, certainly not compared to the entire government. And Corvallis is a bit too strictly organized to not have a failsafe in the event of eventual defeat, if Rainmaker was really losing a grip on the city she could just destroy the whole place without all that much difficulty.
  4. Then you'd chip off the Aluminium and it'd heal as normal.
  5. I was of course playing civ when this message came up so I missed it Ah well, maybe next one. Moving to Mount Barker, weren't you up north somewhere?
  6. Moving out of the suburbs into the hills to be closer to family for baby!Voidus. Maybe? Does it have a thread yet?
  7. Not intended to be a criticism just an explanation, it can come across like that to some people so I'd recommend avoiding it. I'm sure it wasn't your intention though.
  8. You'd also have a bit of trouble actually getting an aluminium bullet to pierce the brain, particularly given the era. Pure aluminium is pretty soft and skulls are pretty not soft. Plus as mentioned, gold would probably keep you alive even if it couldn't get rid of the wound if you had enough of it.
  9. I would say that it's due to the aggressive tone. Caps-lock-shouting can come across as a bit rude.
  10. Was going to mention this but yeah, the weakening weakens over time, the weaknening is due to distance from the most recent Lerasium Mistborn, but there's no reason they would weaken beyond what mistings were like pre-Lerasium.
  11. I was comparing the teleportation, we know that Aonic teleportation is significantly weakened outside Arelon, Dhakor monks managed to accurately teleport exactly where they wanted. So either they knew exactly how weakened they were and could calculate how much they needed to overshoot or they're not influenced by locality as much as Elantrians are. (Or they're absolutely insanely powerful back in Fjorden)
  12. Yay, Mrs. Voidus and I got the house we wanted! No, this is of course the week that my pay didn't go through properly. Yay, we at least have enough to cover the bond so we still get it. No, they only want us to have it with two weeks overlap so we have to pay rent at two houses when we're already broke. My head hurts.
  13. We've had confirmation of enough things that I'd say it could steal any of those theoretically. (Well it could steal the ability to forge, not the skill) For example we know it can steal a Shardblade bond, not exactly inherent.
  14. Not so far as I know.
  15. I meant Roshar in the second instance?
  16. Some spoilers for future Mistborn books (Specifically Bands of Mourning) are needed in order to properly answer the OP.
  17. And going the other way does this imply that Elantrians can experience quantum phenomenon like spren can? (I doubt it since the Elantrians are the recipient of the bond not the providers but I guess the other option would be that all of Sel could be treated as a single particle) Follow up to this, might this explain the Shaod, Elantrians are being bound into a state and unable to change, much like certain flamespren were. I'm inclined to think that it would be something along the lines of the Dor seeking out a cognitive presence to channel it, the largest cognitive presences would be the nations themselves which can then act as channels in the same way that spren do, but since cognitive aspects aren't as active on Sel only the largest can act as a channel whereas on Roshar all aspects have a certain degree of sapience to allow them to take up the power.
  18. I don't really remember what it originally was, didn't he just have the power to turn into a giant monster and make cracks in the ground or something?
  19. Would anyone be interested in a Mistborn themed game with similar rules?
  20. Latereplies!Voidus has appeared! I did put one in, and I refuse to mention shiny sparsenal, there are some things that just aren't shipped. I debated switching to a character from another thread to cover more of the RP but I couldn't not have Funtimes as one of the first FCs, and now I have a month to try to narrow down all the awesome characters to one that I can feature. He is a challenge to write sometimes, between picking a genre for his current mindset (Although it's usally an MMO) and trying to keep him on the line between being a monster and being an innocent. Glad you liked him though!
  21. Hello everyone! Voidus here again for this months segment on the RPs and social groups! We've got some progress on some newer RPs involving Wizards, Jedi, and the Wheel of Time. There's also some wonderful roleplaying in Oregon, and we also talk about the Awkward Knights, the featured social guild this month. Roleplaying Games The Hogwarts Roleplay ‘Owls and wands’ is making some steady progress, with a war now being waged between House-elves and doxies as the students begin to make their way off the train and towards the castle. And a certain roleplayer who always creates too many characters has begun to write for some of Hogwarts’ many portraits. It’s never too late to join so if you want to be a house elf, a portrait, a student or an enchanted stair drop on by the Hogwarts RP discussion thread! The Star Wars RP is the place to be for all fans of sci-fi, with a fractured galaxy, the eternal conflict between sith and Jedi still brewing and of course, freaking Lightsabers! The third age RPG looks like it may be getting underway as well, a wheel of time RPG set towards the end of the breaking, a time when Saidin and the male chanellers have almost been contained but are still destroying the world. The beginning of an era has had some activity too, with the game now shifting to the elusive Nightingales and an elaborate heist planned to be underway. Reckoners stuff Now on to the RP of Ages: The Reckoners RP, six threads, hundreds of posts, a non-canon thread stuffed to the brim with nonsense, thousands of pages of Questions threads filled with insanity and somehow still no dead Nighthound. Well hopefully someone figures out his weakness this month. What Happened in the last month: The Wastelands has continued its progress, a bomb has gone off in Adelaide, a flying city hosted a party including the country’s resident transporter and informant Seastrider and Sydney has become active again as well! But it is an entire country and there’s always room for more roleplayers! In the Dalles the insanity in Doctor Games’ clinic continues as a bewildered Epic named Scribbler is now being assaulted with friendliness not only from the pathologically flirtatious Shiny Sparkles but also the Dalles’ resident Epic fangirl, Lyla! Some fantastic writing from Quiver has shown us that non-superpowered characters can be just as interesting as Epics. And the long awaited arrival of Scribbler’s squid has shown us that… er, squids are cool? Salem has received some TLC from Mckeedee who has provided some much needed worldbuilding to the city and established some new potential plots, would you like to participate in a murder mystery? How about becoming a member of a gang? Or would you just like to participate in the kill or be killed but no one actually dies ( also known as KobKbNOAD) environment of the arena? Salem has it all! Well except for a safe environment for raising children. That's rather hard to come by in the Reckonerverse. Portland has received some resurrections of long abandoned characters as Candyflame becomes active in the museum again, and a long awaited visitor waits for Doctor Funtimes to return. Meanwhile back at the museum it seems that Adelmo has discovered the secret to manipulating Backtrack: to make any sort of vaguely threatening remark. Featured Character: Doctor Funtimes Doctor Funtimes is perhaps the most visible character in Portland, although she is a new arrival compared to some of the cities other Epics she has made a lot of impact on the city in her short time there. From turning a bank and headquarters of one of the cities factions into a bouncy castle to making a giant flying museum there’s not a person in the city who has failed to see the effects of her genius and/or insanity. A matter manipulator, teleporter and an engineering prodigy she has created some truly astonishing devices in her time at Portland. And while her insanity and flamboyance were so challenging that she didn’t even get a viewpoint for a significant length of time she is certainly one of the RPs most beloved Epics and we all hope that she can get over some of her darker issues and become Empress Funtimes and shower the city with pancakes. Featured Event: The Attack of the Pandas Well I may have said this last month as well but this is one of the most Reckoners-RP like events to ever occur in the RP. What would happen if a forest spontaneously grew around one of the last non-Epic run cities in the country? This event aimed to answer that question and also throw in an army of sentient pandas for good measure. Whether the Epic known as the Radiant Panda intended simply to confuse the Dalles into submission or actually defeat them in battle is an unknown but his tactics were as interesting and insane as you would expect from an Epic that turned themself into a flying panda. From secret ninja panda corps to literal flying pigs dropping off payloads of rabid squirrels, this was one of the more creative attempts to take over a city that the Reckoknerverse has seen. The Dalles managed to successfully fight off the invasion though not without a cost. The city guard and its Epics were joined by some newcomers in fighting off the animal hordes, and while some of those Epics were content to leave the city, others have instead stuck around and caused mischief. Indeed, one Epic's use of her powers during this battle resulted in her becoming corrupted and she is now an enemy of the Dalles. But still this attack did ultimately lead to Reader getting punched in the face, Arsenal having his socks turned pink and a lot of fun writing ways to defeat pandas in combat. Social Groups The social groups have all seen some activity this month as well, with some resurgence in the saving Guildonia Roleplay, and some new posts in a lot of the different guilds it’s never too late to join a guild, for example… Featured Guild: The Knights Awkward The knights awkward is almost a year old now, which is both exciting and also reminds me how old I am since I consider this one of the newer guilds. But being old is no bar to being awkward! And whatever brand of awkward you might be, the Knights Awkward has an order for you! That’s right, you can speak again the awkward oaths, bond an awkwardspren and join an order of the Knights Awkward, whether you’re a Referencecaller, a Theoryweaver or even one of the dreaded Alleywatchers there are oaths for you to take, books for you to read and people for you to be awkward around! Well unless you’re a Spambringer, we’ve been through the last Spamolation already so now they get banned on sight. So drop by Awkward Keep and say hello to Mistrunner and the other Knights Awkward. (Don’t be scared if everyone runs away when you drop in, that’s perfectly normal) Well that’s it for this time, big thanks to the GMs of the various RPs, the heads of the multitude of social guilds and of course the other writers who have made them all into such amazing places. And also the admins for putting up with us all! See you next month! Thanks again everyone! -Voidus
  22. To clarify Scribbler got them during (Very near the end) of Koschei's reign but she had no access to ink so she couldn't use her powers til after she was released.
  23. I enjoyed Ant man a lot more in this than I did in Ant man, I think they went to far with the sci-fi attempting explanations thing in that movie and that always annoys me.
  24. Most worldhoppers have enough power that a Koloss or two isn't going to be particularly useful to them, particularly if they'd need to waste a decade or so gaining enough knowledge to infiltrate the Ministry and find a position which gave them knowledge of Hemalurgy.
