They're monthly not weekly And that was why I was thinking of doing a rotation of a couple. It doesn't have to be from the featured characters obviously, that was just my first (somewhat selfish) thought, but potentially having to wait isn't necessarily a bad thing either, it would get the players used to how the speed occasionally is and if that is disconcerting enough that they leave then it's better that it happens in an intro thread rather than becoming another one post wonder. I like these catacombs... for completely objective and impartial reasons.

That's one effect but not necessarily the only one. The blowing up is weird though, I don't really have any answers for that.

Welcome to the Shard! Elantris would be my next recommendation, then Warbreaker and then of course the Stormlight Archive. Stormlight is probably Brandons best written series but I'd recommend the other two first for some more background on the cosmere in general. Also we run a Reckoners Roleplay in the RP section of the Shard if you'd like to stop by and say hi. Or just check out some of the insanity

It's been a while so I can't really remember the end credits, which issue was solved in them?

If it does work out we'd need to open a thread asap so we can get some Funtimesy goodness (Or perhaps the last two months' featured characters could co-chaperone, that way it's not all resting on one player if we get a sudden influx of new posters)

Personally I'm more inclined to believe Ettmetal is a godmetal alloy of some kind, simply powering things doesn't seem like it would be enough for a full godmetal. Perhaps a Lerasium Nicrosil alloy? It preserves your Investiture by powering stuff for you.

Yeah a quick upwards Lashing could do the trick but it still requires touching them, if you're in a position to do that a Shardblade is almost certainly a better option. And also it wouldn't use Stormlight Lashing one in the direction of a bunch of others could hold a few off long enough for you to Shardblade kill them though, but a full Lashing on the ground might be an even better option. She still was, just not the final one If Vin had Atium she'd beat any Surgebinder hands down. Even without she'd be pretty likely to win against most if she had Duralumin, if she had neither I'd say it'd need a pretty talented Surgebinder to beat her, Kal maybe could once he's more practiced. But any fight against her with an opponent who doesn't have plate is going to end pretty quickly, coin Durlaumin-pushed through the skull ends things pretty quick.

Well one idea I had was for the featured character for the month kind of chaperone the thread. That way people can interact with some of our favorite characters and avoid any long term plots still.EDIT: incidentally I've had 0 sleep lately so if i speak in gibberish just let me know

Problem with Windrunners is largely their need to be in close quarters, Koloss just have a way better reach. Other than their hanced mobility there's not a whole lot a Windrunner can do that a Shardbearer couldn't against a Koloss. Elsecallers could soulcast maybe a dozen into fire and would then have exhausted their Stormlight stores from what we've seen. Also comparing any KR to Vin is not really fair, she's the literal messiah and Mistborn extraordinaire, I'd give her the win over almost any KR. They might be potentially stronger than a Mistborn but Mistborn have a lot more versatility and a lot more endurance. Especially an order like Windrunners which are close combat specialists, I'd say a Mistborn would fair pretty favorably against them.

Well to make it semi-canonical we could have it be the result of Upgrade meeting Soulcaster. If we do get a new thread we'd need a new GM too, I have a couple of ideas for people to nominate if they'd be interested, but we'd first need a bit more support for a new thread and of course the approval of the grand master yodaSansparkles

On this note, while I agree with everyone else's motivations being well explained the one person whose motivations I had issue with was Scarlet Witch, she just smashes Vision halfway through the planet because she's essentially sick of being grounded. Felt a little too childish for me considering her development in Ultron.

At their peak there were perhaps a couple thousand. Even if they had limitless stormlight (Which they probably wouldn't) they'd still each have to take out several hundred Koloss just to level the playing field. That's without even taking into account any of Scadrials magic users. As I have said before, you'd have to take Roshar at its strongest and pit it against Scadrial at its weakest for them to even have a chance at winning this. If you were to give Roshar a fully equpped and trained Alethi army, and the Parshendi and also say that the Knights Radiant all went through some time portal that brought them into that era and say that Scadrial didn't use the Koloss or the southerners or the Inquisitors or the Lord Ruler then Roshar could probably win. Otherwise this battle goes to Scadrial pretty easily.

Collab between Voidus and Blackhoof Laserbolt tried to contain her excitement. This idea…. It was genius. How had it not occurred to her before? Quakezone would be furious, he might see it as an act of war, but she could smooth him over. The emissary spoke, surprising her. “Well there are certain... advantages to be had from forming an alliance with somewhere with a slightly more stable population." "After all, losing so many people must be damaging to your workforce no?" Laserbolt thought before replying, but the brilliance of her plan was distracting her. “Well,” She finally replied. “It was quite disruptive at first. But we each got our districts in order within a few months. Now despite a few less mouths to feed Tribourne is a prosperous and well-functioning city. We even have time for sports, just like the old country!” She gestured at the bloody melee in the arena, smirking. “How, may I ask, did Adelaide fair once the supply lines and logistics collapsed?” Legolas looked back with a deadpan expression before replying. “I don’t have much to compare it to.” He began honestly. “Food was still pretty available, most of the damage in the state happened at the city itself not the farmland. We lost the power plant once we stopped getting gas supplies but people managed to get by.” Remembering that time accurately was somewhat difficult to Legolas, the time before he’d become an Immortal was… murky. Pleasant in a way he supposed, but devoid of purpose. “Severance took over the military pretty quickly so there was no shortage of arms and ammunition either. After the initial period of difficulty industry got back on track pretty quickly. I suppose having an unkillable policing force capable of murdering the entire city might provide people with some incentives to get back to work.” He finished with a thoughtful tone. Providing the city with resources was not something he’d been concerned with. The Immortals were more than provided for, and from what he’d heard from other Immortals there were plans to more than provide for the rest of the city. But that wasn’t the sort of information he’d reveal to someone who was at best a tenuous ally. Laserbolt nodded thoughtfully. Hmmm, I should be wary of such a well-organised and united ally. Once I unify Tribourne, I will need to begin finding out how to circumvent this “unkillable” army of Necropathy’s. She turned around, and waved for an attendant. A servant rushed to her, leaning to here whatever orders she had for him. “Bring me Windstorm.” The servant nodded and rushed to obey. She turned to the emissary. “The idea that I mentioned is thus; I have too many people to feed. What is the solution? Less people. Killing them would be a waste, but if I can “encourage” them to move to Quakezone and Foundry’s territories their resources will be strained. Just the useless leeches- the unemployed, beggars, vagabonds, raucous gang members, that sort of mud. And to liven up my people, I will force some of the miscreants to fight each other for the right to remain in my lands. Genius, isn’t it?” She laughed lightly. Attempting to be respectful Legolas smiled meekly at the joke. Indeed it was a reasonable solution for those who were just a drain on resources, but then if the city wasn’t so wasteful there wouldn’t be any drainages in the first place. Severance and Necropathy knew what to do with idle hands, stick a gun in them and train them how to use it appropriately. And if they refused, send an Immoral to give them a taste of the price of refusal. Those who tasted a hint of the black marks pain rarely gave any reason to need to be inflicted with it a second time. Still, Adelaide had no competition anymore so perhaps there were factors he hadn’t considered behind Laserbolts decisions. “You’re not concerned that they might catch on? If they return them, particularly the violent members wouldn’t it cause problems?” Laserbolt nodded. “Yes, that will be an issue, but I’m confident my military can close down my borders. We already have checkpoints in place- we just don’t usually discourage people from crossing them.” As the fight in the arena drew to a close, the servant returned with Windstorm. Gesturing to the Adelaide emissary, Laserbolt said, “It was an honour to show you our games, but now I must consult with my general. This guard will have you driven back to your rooms.” Dismissed, the emissary took his leave and Laserbolt began preparations for her plan.

That is an excellent question, and one I plan on working out soon. Sorry again for my recent sporadic appearances. Moving houses right now so internet access is limited. I will be organizing stuff in Salem shortly! As already mentioned he's not up for adoption There are some backstory characters for him that could be adopted I suppose but not any Epics. Since I've long since called dibs on red in collab docs it is greatly confusing to me to have someone else writing in it now On the topic of rules regarding our overcrowding issue I have suggested this before but I'm a fan of a kind of tutorial city, one where there's not a lot of long term plots and Epics don't usually stick around for extended periods, there'd be very few characters from long term RPers there, a maximum of one Epic per player. Then if there are any new abandoned characters they don't really affect the storyline of other threads and we can just assume they left the city to make room for more new players. That doesn't solve the problem with Epics who are already in other threads and have been abandoned but for those the only two options really are to either write them out of the story or else get them adopted.

Sorry for being absent a bit lately, new job, new baby and we're moving too so new house. Been a bit busy lately Should calm down starting next week and give me more time for the Shard again. I've temporarily adopted Streetwise and Murphy and I do have some plans with Murphy, Streetwise I'm very happy for someone else to take over for though. Soulswitch I have considered putting up for adoption for a while, I don't really know what to do with him any more but he does have established connections to a few people in Portland so if anyone wants a Portland Epic feel free to take him! On the note of Astoria I'm happy for someone to take Lockvault for now, writing scenes with myself can be a bit depressing if I write Lockvault and the Adventurer As mentioned I have at least temporarily adopted him and I do have some plans for him, but I'm not opposed to someone else writing him either so maybe PM me so we can talk about it if you're still interested in him?

If he's already tapping enough of it then yeah that'd probably heal him. Or possibly make him Invested enough to be difficult to cut anyway.

Could be coeliac, it can present at later ages IIRC. Probably best to get it checked out when you can, hope it all works out ok.

That was a Monday according to google. I think most people are to some degree or another, it's not great for digestion even if you're not really intolerant. What happened?

Well I'd have to get approval for it and I do like to keep my surprises.

Yeah it'd definitely be annoying but in terms of killing Miles I doubt it'd work. Only real way is exactly what they did, capture him then take away his gold and keep shooting til he stays dead.
-
That would actually be a good way to start off my plan too That's one of them, though it needs a bit of set up and I'd be basically throwing away her entire character since she'd rend so bad that there's very little chance she'd leave alive pretty much anyone she's interacted with.
