It's been brought up before but carrying something with one hand is not twice as difficult as carrying it with two, you use more than just your arm muscles to carry things, you use your whole body. And the two labourers were also two separate people so they wouldn't have been optimizing how they carry and distribute weight properly compared to someone who did it alone.

Not that I know of, I don't think anyone's asked. We did a bit didn't we? Well it's somewhat related I suppose, knowing how Elantris works might provide some insight into Dhakor.

Well it depends on whether you think someone intangible could actually use the portal, they couldn't touch the actual blood so it's possible it wouldn't work.

Well it wouldn't really affect Intangibility, and she could already kill people with forcefields if she could get a bit of blood inside the forcefield on the impenetrable skin there would be ways to avoid it affecting Metal/Steelheart levels

Given that there were no modifiers whatsoever I'd find it a bit hard to believe that the base Aon Rao would have such a complex effect, including targetting specific people. Also once it wasn't working properly even if there was some weird lingering effect from before that was somehow unique to Aon Rao the rest of the Dor should flow back to everyone else, the whole problem was that the Dor had no release.

But it's the completely safe non-alcoholic form of spiking punch. It won't damage your liver at all, just remove the part of your soul responsible for higher reasoning skills, balance and inhibition. All of the drunkenness with none of the physical damage. *Note, may cause you to lose your immortal soul, start speaking in tongues, praise the god of entropy intermittently, guiltlessly murder all those you once held dear. If you experience any of these symptoms, report to your nearest Dark Alley for further testing.

I meant like the deathgates, so that anything inside the portal is sent somewhere and at the edge of the portal they're severed as some of it stays where it is.

Not many actual spoilers being discussed and it has had a bit of crossover with another thread, but we should probably just stop going off on tangents

There aren't similar numbers, Mistings are waaaay more common than Radiants are. There's perhaps a few thousand Radiants total. They'd outnumber the Mistborn and Feruchemists probably but not the mistings. At least some Inquisitors had Feruchemical steel too.

I'm not trying to do anything other than state the facts as I see them, if you need a particular reference feel free to ask but I think most of my points are established solidly enough that they don't really need citation. It's a central plot of the entire book that Aons still work before they fix Elantris itself, it provides the main hurdle for the story up until the Dhakor show up. If you want me to cite something I can, I just need to know what you don't believe/know so I can provide citations. On attributing you that was purely a mistake, I was going off of memory and confused you for natc, apologies but there was no malicious intent or anything, just a mistake. On this: If I understand right that would need to target the entire population, not just Elantrians, otherwise you couldn't remove the magical abilities from the rest of the population, which means everyone would be targeted by the Aon and so would all suffer the same fate when the chasm line became necessary. Mistborn spoilers:

Wouldn't the tendrils basically have infinite cutting power? Same reason that Gateways in wheel of time do. On the repeating speeches thing, for my part at least it's just to maintain the flow, we often skip from one scene to another and back and it can be hard if you have to scroll back over several posts to see what a character is actually responding to. It's also sometimes to provide a new perspective on a scene that's already happened.

I wasn't implying or suggesting that a Mistborn could flip a tank, they could destroy one pretty easily though, they're a small extremely mobile target experienced in espionage. Duralumin push yourself onto the tank, land with some pewter, plant explosives, jump away again before they know what's happened, blow up tank. Depends on who's using it but generally not, no. Speed, flying and magic all do matter and can work, case in point: they do on a pretty regular basis. Magic wont? Well that depends on the magic. Balefire would, AonDor would, Soulcasting would, a Shard would, powerful enough Allomancy would. Foresight combined with speed can beat pretty much anything, Mistborn have both and mobility in spades.

In his entire history he's never been against a machine gun or had a distance of several hundred meters and nothing else around for him to adversely affect. And even given all those constraints it still works pretty darn well most of the time. So now the bullets are as heavy as people? I thought I was being generous in supposing they were 1kg and you want to say they should weigh 50? Otherwise there's not much of a way for them to push back that hard and even if they do a Mistborn can use anchors. Please stop the condescending tone too, I get that you think your point is valid and that I'm ignoring it but here's the thing: From my perspective you're doing exactly the same thing. I gave you some pretty solid maths that you have yet to refute, you provided plenty of references sure but to my eyes I've already addressed them. Wax uses a steel bubble that is small in size and weak in force, yes it gets stronger as the bullet gets closer but that's not a good thing, only using your full force once it's near you is not going to give you enough time to actually deflect it. A Mistborn pushing with full strength the entire time it is in range will cause a much greater shift in position. If you really want I can address each quote individually but I don't think there's any that prove any flaws in my reasoning, if you think there are then I'm happy to hear them, just try to be a bit less aggressive about it. I'm not trying to steal a child, I'm just stating the facts as I see them, this isn't a fight or some achievement or anything, no one is winning or losing, we're both just trying to find out the answer to a question that is as yet unresolved.

I think most Oregon characters would make any story better The world I'm using is also somewhat suited to Epics since there's a few similar rules.

It's actually largely because I don't know what it's about anymore. I wrote some stuff a while ago and did a bunch of worldbuilding but I don't know that I like the original story anymore and I just realized that Scribbler would be an absolutely perfect fit for the world with some tweaking. I might need to take out certain... events from her history though. Or at least significantly alter them.

Been working on some non-RP writing today now that I have a bit of time and I've started thinking I might adapt some version of Scribbler and the momentum twins into my story, their abilities all fit in reasonably well and they're the characters I've probably spent the most time plotting backstory and stuff for.

Twi or I can mod anything that needs it but on actual GM decisions I'm not sure what should happen. Up to Twi I guess unless Coma left instructions with anyone.

That was indeed my first thought as well, Lightwards was the first person I thought of but I imagine a large number of Portland Epics would be more offended by the implication that they had to pay sometimes than enthused that they got free food sometimes.

Because when it's non-functional the effect still happens. And as you yourself pointed out, someone had to use AonDor to create Elantris in the first place, which doesn't make sense if Elantris itself is what creates it.
