This would heavily imply that Shardpools are perpendicularities but that doesn't necessarily mean that all perpendicularities are Shardpools.

It's worth noting that while you are correct it's the current that kills not the voltage, the two are related. Current is proportional to voltage so higher voltage = higher current too. And assuming there was nothing particularly noteworthy about the person being zapped a billion volts would do quite a bit more than just kill you. At the very least you'd turn rather crispy. Others have already covered most of the information on Salem, it features a rather powerful policing force and most Epics are kept pretty firmly in line, every day fights are carried out on the Astral Plane, where Soulcaster (The leader of Salem) can arrange the entire plane to suit the combatants or even change the powers of the Epics fighting (Though that's not often done for Epic vs. Epic fights). Other than that we've been working on trying to introduce some other plots to the city lately but I haven't checked through the thread in a while so not sure whether that progressed at all. Arclight is most welcome, though at the moment Salem is somewhat stuck in limbo while we wait for a few scenes to resolve themselves and end the day.

The Adventurer released Lockvaults arm as the two of them returned to their underground base. After the fight that morning they had explored the rest of the city searching for other quests or some more players to try and challenge that boss again. In the end the two had returned here with little to show for it other than a slightly better understanding of the cities layout. "But then again there's no strategy guide so we've kind of got to just keep forcing our way through til we find the critical path." The Adventurer commented lazily as he threw himself into a couch. He pulled a fork out of one of his pockets, pilfered during one of the many house raids he'd performed that day and used it to dig into a plate of spaghetti that lay nearby. "Unless maybe there's a guild or something nearby. Might be worth looking into later." He mumbled through a mouth of food.

Laurelai Jane If we have another daughter I've been promised ruby as a middle name at the very least. -
The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Voidus replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Fun fact: I almost managed to get our baby named Ruby because she's one of my favourite characters ever. In the end I lost that argument though. -
The number of characters who started as an offhand comment or joke is quite staggering

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!
Voidus replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
I'm still deciding whether the first book we read to her will be Reckoners or Stormlight. -
It does speed your perception on tapping at the very least, there's quite a bit about it in the AoL era books but we also have direct WoB that it's mostly bullet-timing you. Plus it needs to do a lot more than just speed up your muscles to allow for proper movement, for example it needs to mes with friction or else Steelrunners would all fall on their face the second they tried to actually move. Given that running seems possible it needs to mess with gravity a bit to allow you to actually fall to the ground when you're in your stride.

The Good News Thread: I'm So Excited! And I Just Can't Hide It!

Thanks! Yep Mrs. Voidus and baby Voidus are both doing great. She's already so well behaved and adorable. -
It's been sort of hypothesized a bit before but I don't know that anyone has posted a complete theory on it before, pretty much how I think it works, the kicker would be to find out if Steelrunners experience any issues with aging when storing/tapping.
-
It's a subforum of insanity and merriment. Also an RP Game, though it's closer to collaborative storytelling, there's not hard set rules or dice rolls or anything like that.
-
Welcome to the forums! We have an RPG set in the Reckoner universe if you'd like to check it out, otherwise I hope to see you around. Can I interest you in a welcome cookie?
-
It's tricky to say exactly and it's relatively certain to be quite complicated. It would seem to do more than simply increasing the speed of your muscles, there's accelerated perception as well at the least and given that we've seen no countermeasures needed for Steelrunners to walk or run it should probably interact with gravity and friction in some way.

17shardsuggestion Magazine Seventeen
Voidus replied to Darkness Ascendant's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
It's not as widely publicized as perhaps it could be but the staff do run a recurring news segment called 'Around the Cosmere' that aimed to do exactly that. If you have some ideas for improvement or additions to it though then it's certainly open to improvement. -
Would bring up some interesting philosophical points such as the nature of free will or guilt. Can you punish someone for their actions if them performing those actions was in the control of the author rather than the person themselves?
-
I don't know that anyone was really in the wrong, it was a bit of a morbid post and some people might have taken offense to it, but at the same time it's my kind of humour and this is the Shard so I generally assume people are saying things in good faith without meaning to be offensive.

We were waiting til she was a bit more mature before gifting her that one. So maybe for her first birthday (Incidentally I had a good chuckle at the editted out post, a bit morbid but that's often my kind of humour ) Nothing from me, thoguh I'm probably the one holding others up rather than the reverse Much appreciated! And I think I may steal your your term for a young member of the Voidus species As am I, and thanks again for gathering the soul of Cthulu so we could do so. Don't know that I would have been able to gather that while also juggling parenthood. I shall raise her well in the ways of loving the pugs.

So some may have been able to guess by looking at the calendar but there's a new little Voidus in the world! Laurelai!Voidus was born two nights ago now, been staying at the hospital looking after her and Mrs. Voidus but now we're starting to settle back in at home. I'll likely be more busy for a while while we adjust but I'll get back to posting when I'm able. Incidentally I had some of my colleagues in the Dark Alley collaborate with me to work out a ritual to ensure that she emits an aura that renders every member of the ATTD list powerless if they attempt to approach her.

That was a joke In most series it's a subjective cultural definition not a hard boundary, in general what Landis said, dark magic tends to be about hurting others or can only be used to hurt others, light magic is used to help others. Or Dark magic is more powerful but corrupting somehow, while light magic is not.

Was hoping to get some writing done for other characters but somethings come up, will still be about but won't do much character posting for the next day or two. Sorry if I'm keeping anyone waiting.

What happens when you burn Trellium? [Secret History Spoilers]
Voidus replied to HonorIsDead's topic in Mistborn
How? Unless the Bands were created at a point in time where Trellium was available then they couldn't have stored the ability to burn it since they don't even know what it is. -
Marvel/DC Characters with Mistborn Powers (Game-ish, but not really)
Voidus replied to KnightRadiant's topic in Mistborn
You may want to clarify a bit that when you say Hemalurgy in red whether you mean the allomantic power that was Hemalurgically stolen or the type of metal the hemalurgic spike is made of. For example your Iron Man, did you mean he should have 2 spikes, one each for allomantic steel and iron? Or did you mean some Hemalurgic steel spikes to steal allomantic powers and an Iron spike to steal strength?
