Attractive is a subjective concept so sort of depends how you'd go about that. Is it an illusionary power? Or mentalism? Or shapechanging? Dungeons and Dragons 5e has a really nice table of random magical effects that aren't too overpowered, something like that with defined limits is probably better than a generic 'something random' or 'some random Epic power' that has no clearly defined limits. (Google: 'Wild Magic table' if you were interested) EDIT: Alternatively maybe they randomly emulate some display of Epic power that they have personally seen within the last 24 hours. Makes it limited by what they've seen but also has a random element to it. Or they can emulate an Epic power but only at a very weak level. So they can light a match but not incinerate a city like Obliteration.

I mean plenty of things are, basic logic can tell you that much. Like stealing their soul and also all their money. Logical addition of two bad things to make a worse thing. -
I would generally suggest against randomness as a drawback in freeform RP because obviously we write it so it's not random at all. Theoretically in every single important moment of the RP you could have them do exactly what they want. Plus even with that drawback that's not exactly what I'd call a minor Epic, that's borderline omnipotence just with a 50/50 success rate.

Our merch grants superpowers. -
Will probably pin it if we get a separate subforum but pinning it to the whole of the social guilds would probably confuse people.

Not everyone who has connection to Arelon becomes Elantrian so not necessarily, but it might make it possible at least.
-
Not sure if that could be a weakness, not directly at least. General feelings of hatred or superiority maybe but not the Darkness specifically.

Quick few Epic ideas to pad out the Minor Epic Coalition Contagion: Can make any physical trait he has contagious. If he gets stabbed he can make the sword wound contagious, or he can make blue eyes contagious, etc. (Typical incubation period is about a day) Thirst: Mentalism Epic, can make people really, really thirsty. WireArm: Can manipulate metallic wiring (Any metal that is flexible enough to be bent with human hands) FlameShot: Can breathe a greenish fire, either in individual shots or a continuous stream. Has only limited immunity to his own fire so his mouth frequently tastes of ash afterwards and sometimes blisters from the heat. Whiplash: Has a highly extendible, prehensile tongue. Uses his tongue to pull himself to other places or tie up and reel in enemies.

Yeah as stated, the force is mutually attractive so you can't lift something that's below you to anything higher than your height. Same reason if you get two magnets that attract each other and put one above the other they don't start flying. New Maple character, thoughts before I add to the list?

I'll probably have some character deaths, but there's a timescale to consider, most of the old RPs only had a couple of days worth of in-game time. There probably won't be a huge number of Epic deaths over that period of time barring something pretty major. I think I'll go with MEC this time, Minor Epic Coalition, just to clearly separate it. But I think it's fine to have characters in multiple factions, as long as normal RP rules are adhered to, don't create a character in a faction just to undermine that faction to benefit one of your other characters.
-
Also I've updated my Maple characters profile with a more extensive character profile, it's one from a worldbuilding site I use from time to time and I find it's really helpful for fleshing out characters so if anyone wants to steal the template feel free.

Thanks! I thoroughly recommend Corvallis as well, some really nice scenes in there. Also the Dalles. And Astoria... Ok I recommend everything, this RP was amazing fun

I'm offended! I have plenty of morals. Morals which I stole from other people, granted, but I have them now. -

Science. Also more members of the DA openly spiking baked goods, but less members of the DA covertly spiking baked goods. -
I do think before we start that having a GM is a good idea, it worked well last game to have someone who just got final say over what was/was not acceptable in a given RP, and was the main source of interesting features about the town. Also helpful if disputes arise (Though actually I don't think they have so far, or at least not openly) EDIT: And if they're up for it my vote would be for Comatose

He hasn't done a full tour of the capitals here but he has been down before, and possibly will again. Most likely just to Sydney again though.

On that note, just some feedback: I would have put MV as a Blaster as she can affect things at range. (eg if she's in a car, she can touch the car to steal its momentum and transfer it to a nearby pedestrian who is a distance away. She can also bypass this limit entirely by using a proxy, transferring the momentum from something distant to something she's touching and then immediately again to something else distant) And Neverthere should be a Thinker I think, not a Master (She does enjoy manipulating people but other than blackmail she doesn't have any supernatural assistance with that) And I think Magmaw should be a Breaker not a Brute.

Many thanks! I don't think we have anyone from Astoria atm though, they might be a bit OP in the new setting. He is indeed. But probably not strong enough to do something like this, at least not as he was planned. If he had access to the mantle and enough time he could construct a plateau out of it, but he couldn't push the crust up with it.
-
Feel like I should point out that this means that within 75 feet he can give an unlimited number of people/Epics a PI (Epics would be included as this is not technically gifting) that's massively overpowered.

Updated with one of the Maple characters I'm working on and also categorized out the new Epics so I added the power breakdown for my Epics there. (My system, not based on anything so inconsistencies are probably aplenty.)
-
Phew, finally managed to track down all the public profiles I made for old Epics. Also posted the new profiles in the new Epics thread. If people are interested in power breakdowns I'll post my versions once I've categorized the two newbies. I'll pick out some characters for the MEE too at some point. EDIT: Also Portland character updates just so they're here as well: PPPPP & Sacharine will have moved nearby but not actually into the city, their services are available as creators of Epic tech (Canonical pieces that would be available from the start of the RP are: Gloves that can turn things they touch into pressure-sensitive explosives, a belt that repels any fast moving pieces of metal.) Scribbler became fully corrupted after the fall of the Dalles. MV became fully redeemed after inevitably facing her weakness. Is currently barely able to use her powers due to emotional trauma. Neverthere escaped Portland and is somewhere in the vicinity. Hasn't particularly changed personality-wise in much of a noticeable way.
-
It will only get worse. Soon you'll be making filing systems for your filing systems to keep track of the hundreds of thousands of Epics you've made.

Steelheart would never start a fight he knew he couldn't win.

Metronome. The strongest Epic is Metronome.

Canon fodder. I mean... the Minor Epic Empire from Portland. A group of very low-powered Epics who banded together to try to overthrow the big guns. They were not all that successful. Also a great outlet for my compulsive need to create new Epics. Probably won't be the same group but I can see another group of Epics in Edmonton getting a similar idea, forming one of the city factions through numbers rather than having one big gun ruling their faction.
