  1. Indeed. Sometimes we just throw metallic spikes at something and see what happens, sometimes we spend a few years doing things methodically looking for a specific way to spike something. As long as it's science then we're not fussed what methodology you employ.
  2. No worries Kobold, as Coma said if you ever feel like dropping in with a minor character we'd all love to see you posting again.
  3. Baking, spiking, research. Science!
  4. She's mentioned in the book of RevelNations instead The Pugwoman of the Funpocalypse.
  5. What truly turned the US into the fractured states, the mass exodus of insane people from Oregon, the confusion that they spread fractured the rest of the country.
  6. If anyone here watches Critical Role I'm now imagining an Epic with the voice of Pumat Sol saying "Aw, get outta here ya no good Maple." I am going to have a lot of trouble deciding which characters to bring over. I definitely want at least one 'Maple' (I'm going to keep using it until it catches on now) but then I want to keep playing old characters and also making a bunch of new characters... The life of a chronic Epic creator is a tough one. I've had to channel it into DMing some D&D games since the RP stopped and it just isn't the same.
  7. I'd be hesitant to use an entire continent for a side thread. If it burned out like the Wastelands did then it's ine fewer place we can use for other new threads.
  8. I think Edge said he'd contacted Twi but she was bogged down with work atm, haven't tried @Kobold King yet though.
  9. I have plenty of ideas for Vanilla characters (Also may be a good time for us to think of a new name for them because the term is entirely non-canonical and likely to change from place to place) One thing to keep in mind for others planning on Vanilla characters though(Mostly just a note for any new players here), make sure you keep their mortality in mind when writting, we had a few snarky Vanilla's last game who, fortunately were under the protection of Epics or were pretending to be them. But if you make a wise cracking Vanilla who doesn't put up with or bow to Epics then they need to have a realistic way to survive. This game hasn't even started yet and I've already got at least a dozen planned characters.
  10. I'm almost tempted to have Neverthere stay alive two so the three of them can meet up in a different country and all be suspicious of each other but I doubt NT would have survived long with Nighthound knowing her physical location.
  11. Sadly Backtracks awesome glasses were destroyed along with the rest of the state and MV quickly realized he wasn't nearly so interesting without them.
  12. And if it's post-calamity and they've been redeemed then it's possibly even worse because they now have to live with what's happened without the protection of Epic rage. Very interesting character potential though.
  13. Depends when we set it timeline wise, if it's post calamity then only one of the twins would be around. :'(
  14. I consume LNs WNs and Anime but not Manga so I'm up to date on the anime for Hero Academia but not the manga, so depends if the conversation is dipping into that territory. As for carry over characters I'm not sure who I'd want to bring. Metronome will probably make an appearance but likely not as a main character. Scribbler maybe? Or PP but a rehashed one, so essentially a different character with PPs original backstory, which I always wish I'd stuck to.
  15. Real world timelines are a bit awkward I think, real life can be unforgiving at times and if one key player isn't around the entire story can start to unravel a bit. I'd definitely be up for an in-game deadline though. (Side note: Recent activity in this subforum has meant someone just upvoted an old post of mine that I'd completely forgotten about, so I just had the very novel experience of reading one of my own posts that I felt like someone else wrote. )
  16. Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy yourself, whether you enjoy theorizing, roleplaying or just chatting Can I interest you in a welcome cookie?
  17. Funtimes teleports some Oregonian Epics over for a gap year?
  18. Yeah same here, Portland is not a city I knew anything about before the RP. But alternatively we could set it in Europe somewhere, I'd think there would be a lot easier justification for large pockets of Epics there since it's all 1 landmass so it'd be easier to travel.
  19. I have some specific common abilities completely mapped but broadly speaking: Tier 1 - Either very, very situational and useful or else a power that is not particularly useful Examples: The ability to know exactly what time it is, the ability to make purple pens explode Tier 2 - Not the most powerful of Epics but still noticeably more powerful than any non-Epics. Or a situational but powerful ability. Usually Tier 2 Epics have little issue killing any single person but could easily be overwhelmed by even a small group. Examples: Invisibility, small firebolts, ability to heal while submerged in water Tier 3 - Stronger Epics, usually capable of wreaking destruction on the scale of a city block without much difficulty, hard to combat even with a group of people. Some High Epics fit in this category if their PI is able to be circumvented without their weakness. Examples: Deathpoint, Fortuity's foresight, Far reaching teleportation, Prof's Tensors Tier 4 - Powerful High Epics, those capable of city wide destruction, PIs at this level generally cannot be overcome without their weakness. Examples: Mitosis, Conflux's energy generation, Faultline Tier 5 - Very wide ranging destructive ability, insurmountable PIs, very few Epics fit into this category Examples: Steelheart's invulnerability, Obliteration's exploding, Nightwielders sun-blocking is on this scale, Regalia's water manipulation
  20. Yes and yes, On my scale he would be a tier 2 telekinetic. Able to control only one specific substance and only with about as much force as the human body can exert, however he can control a wide area of it at a time.
  21. Not a very good one, need a contained space and have the flour be very very spread out, needs a lot of surface area. Now if you want something a little more interesting, we've finished working on a Harmonium based explosive device that explodes solely in the Spiritual realm.
