Excellent choice, Mistborn has always been a favourite of mine too Have you read Secret History?

Welcome to the forums! Have any favourites among the books you've read?

Because Mount Olympus was the supposed home of the greek gods, so I can see an Epic using it to name their city. Major because apparently most post-calamity cities needed a descriptor in their name (New-Cago, Babylon-Restored)
-
Just had a possible thought for city name: Olympus Major

Just a note that Impact is technically a High Epic, probably wouldn't be counted as having a PI since it's purely an active ability but just for the record.

Just Thoughttown had reliable utilities in Portland I think.

The rock noticed two figures approaching it, one of them seemed to be one of the Singers, humming to one of the Rhythms. Curiosity? The other approached and asked the rock directly for some help. Hmm? Uh, maybe the other me coulda help with that? The rock telepathically slurred to Leya. Conjoined spikes he can probb'ly do something with. If you had a bunch of them that were all conjoined with each other it might work. You probably want to check with the other me. Adopting Anticipation the rock tried to project to the Singer, unsure how well a Singer would be able to hear him. Hi, what brings one of the Singers here?

The DA doesn't mind sharing information. It might cause your head to explode though, fair warning. -
Welcome to the forums! I'd second Elantris as a recommendation, it does have some issues with pacing but it was Brandons first published book. There's also a few (Relatively obscure mostly) references to it elsewhere. Can I interest you in a welcome-to-the-forum cookie?

Timezone explanation works for me but in that event she has no way to judge the situation happening outside or judge when it is safe to unfreeze. Everything would be moving at like 4000x speed. Creating food isn't the same thing as being immune to starvation. The only solution to starvation on a biological level is to consume more food, unless their power lets them do that then it's not a simple task. Thinking or perceiving in any way consumes calories (In a not-insignificant quantity)

The rock lay against the wall, humming to loneliness.

That's not what the media will say. -
Another one? I made one for R & D just yesterday! Some day you guys are going to have to learn that you can't keep blowing up universes. But yeah fine I'll get another one ready for testing.

It's fairly massive, but breaking even a small piece of the thing that's holding a universe together is usually not such a great idea. A random universe (See OP) Removing specific parts from a spike would be a very difficult task to undergo, maybe the DA could manage it. But I'd say what you're probably looking for are conjoined spikes, very rare but not thing-holding-the-universe-together rare.

Anyone else willing to have some Maple characters that aren't necessarily Reckoners/in government/military? I'd be really interested in have a subplot of ordinary people and their lives in the city. I would be relatively opposed to a PI like that which rendered literally everything inert, a couple of reasons: 1 -If they're completely frozen then they can never unfreeze because their mind is also in stasis. 2 - If they could maintain consciousness without a brain they would very quickly go insane. It'd be like solitary confinement but even worse because you literally couldn't move at all. And also combine that with general Epic mentality. 3 - PIs that render even natural forms of death impossible seem unlikely, I believe Brandon has stated that even High Epics can die from illness or old age. I feel like being malnourished is probably in that same category.

Apparently tagging doesn't work properly inside quote blocks, because I didn't get a notification for this. I can lock or merge it but merging isn't something that happens very often. If there was enough reason for there to be two threads while we were writing then I think that should probably stay the same while it's just for reading.

It doesn't tend to end well. That's all I'm willing to say on that subject. I'd never dream of poaching on someone else's contract. (I might do it, but I definitely won't dream of it.)
-
Keyword there being 'if' Possibly, but also if you chip a small piece of it off you might destroy the universe. And whoever you stuck it into would also be part-universe. So that would have some interesting effects.

But what if they want to scream? Then again, it does seem to draw the Eldritch abominations when we let people do that. You might have a good plan there.
-
Not really the most exciting of justifications, you can always make your own guild if your goal is just to be in one of them. Why would we gag them? That's just cruel.
-
Just a note on personal preference, I wouldn't ask anyone to rewrite something and if the general preference was for present tense then I could probably switch over.
-
Ah well, hope you can enjoy the books then. (And if you're having trouble finding anything on the forums feel free to let me know. Or pretty much anyone would probably be happy to help you out. ) EDIT: @Leyrann, @The Forgetful Archivist getting a bit sidetracked for an intro topic here, can we move to another thread or leave it there?

Why do people always think that? I've stated numerous times that these are usually for giving powers not stealing them.
