  1. Welcome @Nohadon I think the images thing was at least in part just an imitation of how Robert Jordan and Brandon put headers at the start of their chapters that are content or character dependent. But yeah it does help distinguish between multiple characters in a single post.
  2. The DA didn't start the war but if necessary we will end it.
  3. To be fair this is about deciding what happened in one story thread not the whole game.
  4. Neither have I, I just thought the title seemed appropriate.
  5. Has Red by any chance seen "How to lose friends and alienate people"?
  6. Depends if she found out that Red tracked her down and led Nighthound to her. We should probably work out what happened with them all so we have consistent backstory.
  7. A steady stream of bangs and crashes could be heard in the distance, heavy rocks falling and walls splintering under their force. So the fight for the outer regions begins. Voidus walked through the familiar terrain of Alley 136, the walls adorned with a selection of implements, some strange, some extraordinary, some completely commonplace. Stopping at a loudspeaker, Voidus raised it, flicking the dial on the side to resonate with the same speakers that resided in the other Alleys. "Attention please, your attention please. The city is currently under attack from outside forces. Any researchers lacking healing spikes or some other form of functional invincibility should evacuate to Alley 7 near the center of the city, or begin to make their way to one of the confirmed habitable Shardworlds. Thank you for your attention." Taking a moment to wipe a small bead of sweat off his head, Voidus put down the speaker. Give me a horde of armies over having to speak publicly any day.
  8. Not sure if Nicroburst would have been prominent enough for a more detailed investigation/stalking session, she would have done a brief examination of most areas of the city so she likely would have passed by, but until today she's been being somewhat discreet so it would be pretty difficult for someone to notice her prior to now.
  9. Substantially further away, back then she was still in the city, now she's well outside the city proper. Probably mid way between Edmonton and Calgary so she can keep an eye on both. (So roughly 150km away from the center of Edmonton if google is to be believed)
  10. Heads up for anyone who's been participating in the Alleyverse RP/wants to join, we're about to be under attack so let loose your insanely unbalanced projects of Hemalurgic horror.
  11. Haven't settled on an exact location yet but it'd be well outside the city, Neverthere has a pretty insane range.
  12. Probably not but what's Reds range? Sounds possible if he didn't use their powers in front of them.
  13. Voidus continued walking through the Alleys until eventually stopping, head cocked to one side. He looked at where one of his feet was about to step and instead moved to one side through the 13th dimension. Wouldn't do to walk through the fourth wall again. Looks like the mimes only just cleaned up the last break. Voidus instead broke the fifth wall.
  14. Neverthere strode barefoot through the streets of Edmonton. It had taken her over a month to get set up in the area properly, and she'd been relatively cautious about making herself too noticeable until she had a better grasp of the city. But now she knew what she needed to know, knew the various factions of the city and how the recent death of Doubletake had created a gap that someone needed to fill. And people looking to fill a gap would be looking to recruit. She avoided contacting the local group of minor Epics, her experiences in Portland were that they were likely doomed as soon as one of the cities more powerful Epics had the reach to take their territory from them. They might make a bid for power in the coming days but it likely wouldn't be successful. She walked over the North Saskatchewan River that cut through the middle of the city, she held her arms out as she walked on the current, as though to maintain her balance. A few people on the nearby banks watched with a mixture of curiosity and worry, one man seemed to be squinting towards her, as though trying to read something. She shifted herself directly next to him, appearing in a small puff of mist that was barely visible in the daylight that filtered through the clouds above. "Never be number two." She whispered in his ear as she fully materialized. The man jumped nearly out of his skin, one leg collapsing underneath him as he spun to look at her. When he noticed that she seemed to have instantly teleported in front of him he decided that continuing to kneel on one leg was probably the wisest course of action. "S-Sorry?" He stuttered out. "My shirt. It says 'Never be number two.' I noticed you trying to read it." Neverthere said, gesturing towards her bright pink t-shirt with one hand. "Sorry!" He stammered out again, tone shifting from a question to a profuse apology. He'd known people who'd been killed for far less than staring at an Epic. "Why would you be sorry?" Neverthere asked, tapping one finger on her mouth thoughtfully and adopting a vacuous look. "Have you done something that should annoy me?" "Uh, no, I mean I don't think-" "You don't think? Well that's terrible. You really must remedy that when possible." Neverthere said. She scanned his face more intently for a moment before pulling out the pen that she kept behind her ear and scribbling on her palm for a moment. "I'll come check up on you later to make sure you've learned to think. Kay?" Nodding rapidly, the man kept his eyes on the ground, not meeting hers. Neverthere nodded in satisfaction before turning around, facing the south east section of the city. "Oh, and by the way, if anyone asks if you saw me on the river, just tell them I was never there." She said with a final giggle before shifting away again, leaving the man to sweat for a minute and a half before he dared to stand back up again.
  15. Impact is a bit of a distance away so it's understandable, but Red would probably pick up on the hearbeat yeah.
  16. Quietly stepping into a darkened Alley, Voidus took a moment to check on the nearby acolytes as they faithfully distributed their cookies to the populace. He stepped forward and took a cadmium chocolate chip from the tray to examine. "The cadmium warped in this one." Voidus noted. "Watch out for thermal shock when you cool them down after baking, this'll accelerate the decay rate." The acolyte nodded along with the words and whispered that he'd try again. Voidus continued on deeper into the alley. It seemed he wasn't going to be allowed to attend that party after all. Several groups were mobilising in the Alleycity, some friends, some obvious foes, some whose allegiance was still unknown. But if they were attacking the city directly then some of them may be pursuing that plan that Rhazien had started. Regardless of their intention, it was no longer safe to leave them all be and let the Dark Alleys keep to themselves. They'd agreed to be non aggressive when the Alleys had expanded again, but if others came to attack them, they'd do their best to defend themselves. "Let's just hope we don't have to bring that out at least." Voidus said, voice low and only intended for his own ears. "With any luck we won't even need the great old ones. It'd be a real pain to have to round one of those back up again after."
  17. It's a pretty bare topic, and also evidence that people offering suspicious sweet treats in intro threads is not a new concept
  18. Yeah discussing the possibility of medication is always a good idea, if that's not something you're comfortable with then definitely see if you can find a trained mental health professional to speak to. Many anonymous services exist depending on what country you're in, and having someone who actually understands and listens can be a real life saver.
  19. Impact glided softly through the air, watching the streets below her with interest. She skimmed the tops of the buildings, flying lower than usual so that she could watch the city from closer up. An overview of the cities layout was useful but knowing who was where, which groups feared each other and which strode through the streets confidently, that was what she needed. She watched a group of men chasing after a young girl, spraying bullets throughout the street but seemingly unable to hit her as she nimbly dodged through the vicinity. If the girl was an Epic then her powered either relied on luck or else she wasn't very powerful, as many of the bullets came extremely close to stopping her permanently. Briefly, Impact considered intervening, trying to shake some information out of whoever was more talkative. But that might not be the best idea, she didn't know who the men were, who they were affiliated with. She had no qualms about fighting other Epics but she at least liked to know who she was up against. Slowly she moved towards a checkpoint, interested to see if the entry procedure here was the same as the point that she'd come through. She saw a group of people huddled together, a few of them backing cautiously away from a pair of people standing a short distance away from the main group. As she watched, one of the pair, a man with a gun pointed at the other, lowered the gun and broke out in a sprint, running away from the woman who remained behind. Interesting. Another Epic here then? Still, somewhat lax of them to give up the second they find out that she's an Epic. I'll have to tighten things up when I take over. Exerting a small amount of her power over her entire body, Impact pushed everything that touched her away, her clothes fluttered oddly, the elastic in her waistband continued to pull the fabric tight against her skin just to be repulsed again. That should be enough for now. Impact mused after a quick examination. She crested gently down to the street some distance away but kept herself slightly aloft, both for the slightly better view it gave her, and also the instant fear it caused in the nearby Maples who all immediately found a reason to be somewhere else.
  20. That's only a reason not to take it if for some crazy reason you don't want magic powers.
  21. My first post was theorizing on the allomantic effects of the various Atium alloys. I'm actually pretty proud of how it holds up still considering I made it in 2012.
  22. Welcome to the forums! The rest of Misborn era 2 is definitely a good place to start. If you enjoyed the Rithmatist and Legion then I'd definitely recommend the Reckoners trilogy. The Emperor's soul is a really nice Novella, definitely recommend that if you enjoyed the world of Elantris. Can I interest you in a welcome-to-the-forum cookie?
  23. An alternative opinion, some very nice people in the forum like to hand out free cookies that sometimes give you superpowers. Why people insist on painting these people as the bad guys I'll never know.
  24. Unless Red immediately imprinted on her then she'd probably try to kill her pretty much immediately, likely the same with Kokichi, they're both a bit too obviously Epics
