    I think he just enjoys writing. He loves what he does and when that happens you take pleasure in doing it, even in your spare time. He's an honest person, it's not just his books that make him the people's favourite.

    Welcome @Zpeedish! I didn't actually get to finish Way of Kings until my 2nd read-through either. Got to roundabout where you are then just could not get it. Read Mistborn and ended up loving it and went to buy the rest! Good to see you here, hopefully see you around more

    The 1st 2 books are actually pretty well-structured and a beautiful read. It would set the story well however I agree that him announcing it was going to be longer when there's already a 10 year wait is a little bit ridiculous.

    That's a great ending actually. Stormlight has a way of hitting you right at the end to make you want to go back and read more!

    the status can be found on Brandon Sanderson's official site. Just click the link and the progress bar is on the top right! We tend to post the updates in here constantly and he also updates on Reddit occasionally with a major update but the bar is on his site

    Welcome @Dulator to the Shard! Great to see that you've noticed the bigger picture, now you need to go back and read Stormlight and realise the other connections! What's been your favourite part of the series so far? You can choose more than 1, since there are obviously very many epics parts.

    Welcome to the Shard! It's weird, as much as a I wish I was starting Stormlight for the first time again; I find myself re-reading and finding more new information than I did.

    Welcome to the Shard! As you can see, everyone is very inviting around the forums and, since you've started already, we hope to see you theorising around the forums. It's a MASSIVE undertaking coming on to so many theories and discussions but I would just stick to the forums you're highly interested in first and then move onto everything else. Like the Sanderlanche, it will all slowly yet massively fall into place See you around!
