  1. I read Assassins Apprentice by Robin Hobb and was completely turned off by it. I did read it immediately after Oathbringer and I think the writing style was vastly different that it did not click at all. Is it worth another read?
  2. Guess I need to get a Switch now, huh?
  3. Listening to the new Bastille, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jonas Brothers albums. On a real pop kick lately!
  4. Yup! She gets a fair few parts later on in the series though
  5. Really looking forward to Cyberpunk after that E3 reveal. Kinda gutted there was no Beyond Good & Evil 2.
  6. Nice! I am on Warbreaker and only have Stormlight to finish. Started in February so hoping I'll be done shortly and can move to Wheel of Time
  7. Happy belated Birthday!
  8. Yeah, the most recent State of the Sanderson discusses this. I don't know if I'd like to see a Steelheart movie right now with so many superhero movies making the screen. I feel others would rather see Marvel/DC before this which could damage the options for other series.
  9. I believe this thread might answer some of those questions: Is Nightblood a Returned
  10. This man is on fire!
  11. Mena Massoud. He was also in Watch Dogs 2!
  12. There really is a lot of Futuresight talk going on in the forums these days!
  13. I believe it is possible by using technology or Investiture, like AonDor was used at the end of Elantris, or via a Perpendicularity/magic system.
  14. I'd say that if all shards had the same abilities, "evil" Shards like Ruin or Odium would be using those abilities to get what they want instead of limiting themselves. I think that each Shard is a "personality" of Adonalsium which is why they are all separate.
  15. Odium being a kind god? Sounds like something Odium would try to convince you with, hmmmmmm
  16. For sure, we have no idea what Hoid's origins are. Dragonsteel needs to hurry it up! There have been hints to how old Hoid is throughout the series, he was at the Shattering but like you said; there's always another secret
  17. So my girlfriend is interested in the books however is just too darn stubborn to take the time to read the books. I've started putting the GraphicAudio versions of the books on at night, she has trouble sleeping and needs noise to do it, and she's loving them so far! It's just taking a lot longer than normal but it's a start
  18. I wouldn't say Brandon invented this format of story-telling, I'm sure Dune even used Interludes to tell it's story. Stephen King's IT has them, I'm sure American Gods by Neil Gaiman, too. I agree that he did utilise the format to master his story-telling effectively though.
  19. Hey Mike! Welcome to the Shard
  20. Welcome to the forums! Hopefully see you in the discussions threads
  21. Welcome to the Shard!
  22. It is good to see. I imagine it's a stressful environment trying to appease to the fanbase and being scared of getting it wrong whilst also having to deal with the problems of life
  23. Cookies are delicious. How can something so delicious be so evil?!
  24. The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills
  25. I feel like Adolin murdering Sadeas was out of place and perhaps even a little out of character so this could be a possible reason for doing so.
