  1. When this makes you feel deeply lonely... And when you meet someone in creative writing who says their favorite books are the SA, and you just stand there gaping and saying, "You've got to be kidding," for the whole minute you are supposed to be spending introducing yourselves. And because of that, I've been too imbaressed (that's spelled wrong) to talk to that particular person again. Also, when your friend has a friend who read SA, and keeps asking her questions, AND YOU WANT TO TALK TO HIM SO BADLY BUT YOU ARE INCAPABLE OF HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE YOU JUST MET!
  2. When you are rereading TFE, and (sort of half spoiler). Also, when you're constantly running around saying, "Onward! To glory and some such nonsense." (Sebarial, WoR, I'm pretty sure).
  3. Me: I love Hamilton. It's written so beautifully, and it's so emotional...

Charles Lee: I'm a general! WHEEEEE!!!

    Me: Sometimes.

  4. All i can really say that hasn't been said before is the dog. The dog seems to have a close connection to the man, but then seems to disappear after the man puts the leash on.
  5. *gasp* It's awesome. I saw it in Salt Lake last summer. The chandelier spit sparks... You should listen to the music, (original London cast, Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman) and/or (preferably and) watch the 2004 movie. (Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, and Patrick Wilson). This is why I'm so lonely...
  6. When you keep wanting to call Michael Crawford, Michael Krammer. Luckily, even I can't mix up Sarah Brightman and Kate Reading.I When you realize your obsession with Phantom of the Opera is beginning to verge on rivaling your obsession with the Cosmere, and you are experiencing a very serious internal crisis. Save me from myself. When you send your group chat a picture of your two shelves of Sanderson books, and your friend responds, "You have a shrine worshiping his books," and you respond, "I worship all my books, his just more than others."
  7. IF SOMEONE REMAKES MY PROFILE PIC SO TIEN IS WEARING A PHANTOM MASK I WILL PAY YOU IN UPVOTES.

My brain is a strange place.

    :D

  8. Is anyone else hardcore obsessed with Phantom? Anyone else agree with the fact that Love Never Dies sucks except for the music and Ben Lewis singing the music? The book is so storming awesome. 1990 anyone? Charles Dance is one amazing phantom, but I don't much care for the plot. Gerard Butler is awesome. Emmy Rossum was sixteen when she got the role of Christine! And she did awesome. I want the 1916 adaptation. Anyone heard anything about it lately? And has anyone seen the actual 1925 version? I've personally only seen the 1929 hodge podge. But still. Lon Chaney. Please tell me I'm not alone.
  9. You're good.

      @Mistrunner

      1. The music is better in the movie.
      2. The plot is way better.
      3. I like Les more in the movie.
      4. Santa Fe.
      5. Jack isn't an artist. I found that part of the play just downright weird.
      6. Denton.
      7. Sarah.
  11. We could say that people could still join near the beginning, but i doubt think we should let people join when we are about half way done. But if we do what we did at the end of 2 and let people into the PMs to catch up, that'd be a good idea. Or we could just put the link to the docs on here, and let people ask questions in the comments about it. @Firerust, it is "open registration" right now. I'm just going to close it off before we get to the climax. Unlike last time.
  12. Aaaaaaand I'm going to be gone again. I'll be back Monday ish.

  13. We're finished with #2!!! Once the third one actually starts, we're not going to let anyone else join until near the end. I'm going to use the next few weeks to get the member information up to date. If you want to join, you have a few weeks to speak up. Once we decide on a specific date, I'll post that on here.
  14. I'm going to be gone until Monday. :)

Why is there a smiley face when Tesh leaving is a sad thing?

Plans changed. I'm actually leaving tomorrow.

And a smiley face because I'm coming back really soon.

      That makes more sense. :)

  15. I'm going to be gone for the next eight days. Talk to you all later!

  16. I just add people as they join, explain some basic things, ask if they have any questions, answer them, then remove them from the PM. After their first comment i add them to the other PMs.
  17. I'll add you to the introductory PM, if Ene hasn't added you to the others yet.
  18. I finally got around to reading Gaston Leroux's Phantom out the Opera! I finished it today and loved it. I recommend it to anyone who likes classics that involve ghosts. It's also way different from the musical, which i love.

    My thoughts on some adaptations:

Andrew Loyd Webber's 1987 adaptation is amazing, as previously mentioned. I love the play, and the 2004 movie. (Although there are a few things about it that are annoying, like his mask not covering the whole deformed area of his face, and it never mentions Erik's name).

I have seen part of the TV adaptation from the 1970's, I believe, and it was just cool. Some of the lines are just so dark, and appeal highly to my writer soul. It's cool. (The first half that i watched is on YouTube).

Then the 1925 adaptation. The first adaptation. It's the one that's the closest to the book. There is no sound, but I found it really entertaining. It was really well done. (Guys, Lon Chaney, the guy who played the Phantom, did his own makeup). I'd actually highly recommend this one, even though it's so old. It's really good. I found it on Wikipedia under the page for the specific movie.

Thanks for reading this little piece of randomness. :)

  19. I'll add you to the introductory PM.
  20. When you wish Surgebinding was real...
  21. Instrumental music (AKA movie soundtracks) is better than "regular music." This does not include some Broadway musicals. The Phantom of the Opera, for example. Harry Potter is full of inconsistencies and weird little... Things. I still like them, but they are way overrated. (Read Sanderson books instead)!
  22. May is mental health awareness month. Last year I posted a post that highlighted several different mental disorders, and where i talked a bit about my views on mental health. I'm going to take a different approach this year. Thanks to my experience last year, I learned that a lot of people on this site are dealing with mental illness, whether in themselves, or in their family members, or in friends. I personally have dealt with depression, anxiety, and something called derealization. I have been experiencing derealization since February of last year, and my anxiety and depression have been results of that. I know this might be difficult, but I encourage you to share your struggles with this. Either dealing with them in yourself, or someone you know. This is something we can't hide from the world. The world tends to ignore people with mental illness, often attributing it to specific causes that we can change. (Which we can't). People say that it's not a big deal. They're wrong. I'm sure almost anyone here will support you in your struggles, no matter what they are. I know that what i have gone through is nothing compared to other people. I know i will never understand. But I will stand by all of you. I'd also encourage you to change your profile picture green for this month, the color for mental health awareness. (I lost my original profile picture, so if I change it this month, then change it back, it would be a horrible quality picture. [Insert longer explanation here] I am sorry about that, but there's some green in it)...
  23. The porcupine can fling spikes at people!
  24. When you wish you had enough wall space. (Ugh! Sorry for the double post)!
  25. Every single time. Then i put the books in order.
