  1. I have finally arrived. I shall add what happened in the KOTC RP the other night, which lead to my being invited here. (I have no idea what's going on, but I think that's part of the point of this). Then the world exploded, the ashes of which were taken over by highly invested goats singing Do You Hear the People Sing.
  2. I took the gray sheet off my bed that i don't really need, and winged it. It used to have a hood, but that didn't really work well. So i chopped it off.
  3. Yeah. I have this one friend who feels a lot like I do in this regard. He's this crazy computer hacker nerd. I really really want to start this now. I just don't have the social skills to lead any sort of club, even a book centered one. I can use a boken... (A wooden stand-in for a katana). But i just know this once pattern. I love using it though.
  4. Just finished White Sand 3.

I'm too tired to really process it right now. But i think it was definitely better than #2.

  5. Sorry, I only had one sheet.
  6. That happened to me last week... I can't even begin to comprehend the fact that only more pain lies ahead. (Fun (emotional) fact: Elend means misery in German). WHEN YOU FINALLY FINISH YOUR MISTCLOAK AND IT'S SO STORMING BEAUTIFUL YOU RUN AROUND YOUR HOUSE IN IT FIVE MINUTES. It's entirely hand sewed. I'm wearing it for Halloween.
  7. No. I live in a small town, one of the many that populate the vast deserts of the state that i inhabit. But they have a weekly class at our community center.
  8. I'm reading it for free on this app called Hoopla. All you need is a library card from a library that supports Hoopla. They have all three of these on there, but no other Sanderson books. Although they do have a great selection of ebooks, audiobooks, comics, magazines, movies, and tv shows.
  9. Nah. It's that guy in the percussion section who plays the drum set while the teacher is talking. Every. Storming. Day. When you get two people to check out Sanderson books in one day!!! (Not Cosmere ones, though). And I'm going to go find my gloves from when i was a Knight of the Dawn for Halloween a few years ago. They would be prefectly accepted by Vorin society. (Update: I found both gloves, but in separate boxes. And i found the right one first. I was getting really nervous before i looked in the other box).
  10. They're making a TV show for the Grishaverse.
  11. Yeah. It made me cry so hard! The only problem is that i have Six of Crows in paperback, and Crooked Kingdom in hardcover. With sprayed edges. But I'm going to start reading the Shadow and Bone trilogy soon. I just have to finish my MB re-read.
  12. I read this incredible book a few weeks ago. It's called Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo(?) Oh my storms it was AMAZING. It got me out of my weird reading slump. I HIGHLY recommend it. I'm also slowly working my way through book five of tWoT.
  13. Last year it said that the submissions were due late November, so i hope you're right.
  14. Really? Hmm. Guess i need to see what's up in the Alleyverse every once in a while, then.
  15. I guess i might see you there, then! I'll be going as a Mistborn. Have you seen anything about the anthology? I can't find it mentioned anywhere on their website, and i have a short story I'd like to submit.
  16. Hello! It's nice to have you! Enjoy you're stay, and say no to non-TUBA certified cookies.
  17. It was so much fun! Are you going back next year?
  18. I love Fablehaven! (I met Brandon Mull last March at TABC)... And that's awesome. Make sure she keeps reading! No idea. I'm not necessarily discriminated against, probably because I'm proud of it. I have been teased, though, but that's never really bothered me. There's just no one i can really talk to in real life. My one friend i have who used to be a Sanderfan now only reads cheesy romance books. She's also even semi-popular, and I just feel out of place around her.
  19. @Jaywalk Yeah. My mom is a reader, and loves to discuss books that we've both read, but she doesn't have much interest in epic fantasy type stuff. I personally do Tae-Kwon-Do, but i hate the sparring aspect of it. I'm just not competitive. I'm also going to try and pick up fencing, because that would just be cool. And that feeling of loneliness just sort of increases when you realize people are just listening to you too be nice. And i don't really have an answer to that question either. I guess it's just not what's "cool."
  20. Well...

I have over fifty followers now...

    Um...

    *shrinks back into the shadows*

Anyways. Thank you guys so much! I love this place, and can easily call many people on here friends. The Knights of the Cosmere are a bit like a family to me now, and i don't know what i would do without such a great group of people like all of you.

    May Honor be with you,

    Tesh

(It's been a long time since I've ended something like that)...

Well, you basically started the family that is the Knights of the Cosmere and you kind of founded TUBA, both of which have grown into some pretyy big and great things. You're well known on here, and rightfully so, because everyone on the Shard deserves to know you on here and how creative, thoughtful, and welcoming you are!

Aww. Thanks. I wish i could get to know you all IRL! (Ene, TABC, March).

Yes! This TABC, we've gotta coordinate. ^_^

  21. I need to read it... @Paalm Tree Hamilton is awesome! (I've seen it on Broadway, along with Wicked)! And that sounds like the best book club ever.
  22. The word maladroitly. He uses it five times in the first MB book. This is so true! It's also part of why i like his writing. He makes you try to find out how things will go wrong and when then how they get past it, rather than just how will they win.
  23. I've traced a lot of things off of a laptop. (I can't draw at all). I then outline them in gel an and color them in with a pen. You can make a lot of fun things with that.
  24. Hi! If you are on this website, I assume you are a nerd of some sort. My name is Tesh, and i am a professional bookworm and certified fantasy nerd. But I'm also a hard core musical fan. (My favorites are Phantom, Les Mis, DEH, Wicked, Hamilton, and Newsies. The movie). I assume that i am not alone in the fact that I'm also pretty darn lonely when it comes to my nerdy interests. I have some good friends who put up with my sudden ramblings, and a few who will even respond. But i don't have anyone beyond this site who wants to have a genuine conversation with me about books. So, I invite everyone who has ever felt lonely, alone, or out of place because they love something unconventional to join me. As we talk about nerdy stuff, and why people are so opposed to people who devote a ton of time to something that they love that isn't a sport. (I'm curious about the answers to this).
  25. I always carry around my book. And right now it's Mistborn, so we will see what happens.
