Hey y'all. So, for those of you who don't know, May is mental health awareness month. This is the third year now that I have made a post near the beginning of the month discussing this subject and trying to bring a close community even closer through raising awareness and bringing support to those who need it. This subject is especially important during "these dark times." (Which is what my little brother has been calling all of this). Anxiety, stress, frustration, fear, all are running high. During my time on the Shard, I've found that a lot of people on here have had problems with mental illness. I myself have dealt with some depression in the past, and I've always had pretty bad social anxiety. Mental illness is also very strong on both sides of my family, so I have grown up surrounded by it, whether I was aware of it at the time of not. So what I'm saying is, we're all in this together. More so now than ever. And so, like in years before, I encourage you to share your story. (Don't feel like you have to, though). Also, change your profile picture green for this month. (I think there's a green version of the 17th Shard symbol floating around somewhere from last year). Take care of yourselves, physically and mentally. We'll all do this together.

"Thanks," Ayalin said quietly, not looking at Rob again as she stood. She swung her backpack up onto her shoulder to steady her shaking hands and hurried out into the street. It was growing dark. She had been in there longer than she had thought. It was dark, the road deserted. Ayalin slowly smiled, pulling a coin from her pocket and dropping it to the ground. She wasn't not the best at flying through the air, but there had been a few nights... She pushed on the coin, throwing herself into the air.

When Aya replied, Rob seemed to go on edge. He tensed, and seemed distracted. "No, I haven't sparred yet. I've been here maybe half an hour." She shrugged apologeticly. "But I do know how to use a sword." She cut off. What was she doing? "I... I should probably get going, leave you guys alone." Ayalin gently nudged the cat, then set it on the floor. "If you're sure it's alright, what do you think would be a good time for me to come back tomorrow? If you're sure it's okay." She clasped her hands together, trying to hide their slight shaking. She probably shouldn't have even come. @I think I am here.

When you say, "You scared the begeebers(?) out of me!" And then have a discussion with your mom as to what "begeebers" are and decide that they are spren. When you have a video call with your creative writing people and have to show the only other Sanderfan on there your beautiful signed books and you end up just looking at all the artwork in the SA.

Ask people if they can see the spren too.

Animals were always so much easier to be around than people, and could seem almost instantly like a friend. "So, what can you do? Are you a... " What was the word? It has been a simple one, easy to remember... Blast. "I don't remember the word. Sorry."
