    My secret Santa was @Shard of Thought (I can't say thanks enough), and she drew this fantastic picture of my bird Kaladin! (If you somehow aren't aware at this point, I have a budgie named Kaladin, and I talk about him all the time.) But this picture is storming amazing!

    Ahhhh that's a good point... I don't really like the sun too much... I mean, it can be nice, but I burn really easily, and it makes it so there are weird shadows on the pages of books. There was this one time, though, in the middle of winter where I just curled up on the ground in the sunlight in the office and almost fell asleep. Usually I get too warm to stay there for too long.

    I just made some edits to a short story I wrote titled Here Be Dragons. I cut out around 400 words, and reworded some stuff. I know some of you read through it and gave me some (really good) feedback, and I really appreciate it. 

    If any of you would be willing, I'd really appreciate it if some of you read through it again (or for the first time) and let me know what you think. I still have a few days before submissions are due. Feel free to comment directly on the document.

      I feel like I might have worded that update a little too strongly...

      If you don't want to read it, I completely get it, and please don't feel like you need to.

      However, there is a dragon.

      And it's only eleven pages.

      But please don't feel like you need to.

      I went through it again and couldn't really find anything that needed a lot of editing. I think it's very close to being a final draft, except for a few odd word choices or small things that I found. Most of the parts I criticized the first time are reworded and read better now, so good job on that. Anyways, I think it's looking pretty good where it's at. Good luck with submissions :D

    Talnic sighed, looking the new girl up and down. She was snacking on an apple and some cheese that Minuet had given her, and seemed to have no idea what had happened only minutes before. From her conversation with Minuet, however, she seemed like precisely the type of person Talnic would hate interacting with. However, she was here, and wanted to join their quest... "Why do you want to join us?" Talnic finally asked.

    "Not yet," Talnic said to Minuet, his eyes not moving from the terrified man on the ground. "Swear to not seek her out again. I will kill you the next time I see you, understand? Have your master send someone else." Talnic got to his feet, sheathing his knife with no difficulty, despite the slight shaking of his hands.

    Join us if- ~You like being awake at night ~When awake during the day, you prefer to avoid going outside ~You prefer avoiding the company of other humans, and instead seek out the companionship of others like yourselves- the undead ~Plain garlic seems really gross (Feel free to offer up suggestions to this list). If you are not a vampire, feel free to join us anyways as an honorary member. It might be useful to have friends among our ranks. But, if you are a vampire, remember, people are friends, not food.

    Talnic dug his knife a little harder into the man's neck. "I'm not afraid to cut your throat here and now," Talnic whispered. "I have killed my fair share of men, and ridding the world of one more snobbish lord wouldn't bother me in the slightest. In fact, I might enjoy it." Talnic's grip on the knife tightened. He hated using those words. He hated lying. He hated using the deaths of those he had killed to his advantage. He hated saying that he might enjoy killing another. "If I kill you, your men won't be able to find me. I am accustomed to hiding from the law and anyone else who might come looking for me. If needed, I will kill them too. Tell your men to retreat."

    Sir Nathaniel fell off his horse. Taking the opportunity, Talnic drew his knife and dashed to the fallen man. He planted a knee in his chest and held his knife to the man's throat. "Don't move," he said, then looked up. The rest of the horses had drawn back considerably at Minuet's abrupt movements, and a few had fled with Sir Nathaniel's horse. "Scare the rest of them," he said. "If they resist, kill them." He hated saying the words. But it was his duty to protect these people. For the time being, at least.

    Yep. First profile picture change that isn't in May for a very long time. Tien was my pfp for basically three years straight. Speaking of liking consistency... We'll see if this lasts. However, I do like the light blues of it, and it doesn't seem as out of place as it could. (And it's a Marsh-mellow, not just a hemalurgic marshmellow... )

    That's Awesome. I might have to try that.... (Want to friend me on Goodreads?... Currently my only other friends are a few people who are never active and two of my teachers...) I can see myself getting into a routine like that... I struggle finding jeans that are comfortable, and so I have five pairs, I think, but I have a specific order I wear them in after I wash them. Yes. Kayaking in big waves is really fun, too.
