    Talnic leaned up against the wall, resting his hand on the pommel of his sword. He smiled at Val's enthusiasm, but didn't say anything. He didn't have much he could say. And the others were undoubtedly more interested in discussing the tower than he was.

    I'm not going through all 78 notifications, sorry. I'm just going to check the PMs I have.

    Did I miss anything big? Or is there anything in particular I should check up on?

    I'm also not going to be on here as much, because I was way more productive and read a lot more this past week than I have in quite a while. I'm going to try an check in only once a day. (Same with Discord.) I do realize this will be a pain with the rps I'm in, and I'll try to keep up with those, but I can't make any promises.

    I'm going to be trying to take a week off of the Shard and Discord. I'm hoping I can actually do it.

    I'll probably check in once more this evening, but hopefully I won't be back until next Friday morning or something.

    "Valzwyn!" Talnic shouted after her. "Stop! What are you-" Talnic gritted his teeth as Minuet started running after her. He took a few steps back from the top of the hill, and watched Valzwyn and Minuet's progress, ready to run in if needed. But he wasn't willing to risk anything if it wasn't necessary.

    1. I find everything funny. Except really dirty jokes... I love Napolean Dynamite humor, and deep history or English jokes. Pretty much everything. 2. Probably taste. It's a little useless. And then I would eat anything. And I'd probably be less inclined to eat a lot of junk. And I like all my other senses, they're pretty useful. 3. I'm reading five right now. I keep a list in my signature. (But I need to add Animal Farm...)

      Hadestown is good! My mom made us listen to the whole thing one car ride, and I liked it.

    I finally figured something out on Photopea that will make making these things much, much, easier, and I'm very glad. And I'm starting to do some more things with them in general, and I thought these two turned out really well. I only have them as laptop backgrounds at the moment, but if someone wants a phone one, I'd be more than happy to do that as well.

    I finally figured something out on Photopea that will make making these things much, much, easier, and I'm very glad. And I'm starting to do some more things with these backgrounds in general, and I thought these two turned out really well. I only have them as laptop backgrounds at the moment, but if someone wants a phone one, I'd be more than happy to do that as well. I do have this one set as my phone background right now, however, and it is half decent quality, but it could be better.

    Talnic took a stet back from Valzwyn, ready to grab his knife or sword if needed. "Are these people a threat to us?" he asked slowly. "Can you explain what's going on here?"

    I read the first two books, and I didn't really like them. The original series is one of my all-time favorites, though. I actually just read them for the first time at the beginning of quarantine. I enjoyed them, but Beyonders and Fablehaven are my favorite books by him.

    Valzwyn sprinted up the hill, the sudden movement jerking Talnic back to attention. He took off after her, worried that she had spotted something that could be a potential risk. The snow made running difficult, but, staying in Valzwyn's tracks, Talnic was able to stay right on her heels. Ahead of him, Valzwyn stopped at the top of the hill. Talnic pulled to a stop beside her, narrowly avoiding colliding with her, and tried his best to take in the tower and the people all around it. He felt exposed standing out on top of the hill in the open, but Valzwyn didn't seem in the least bit worried, and none of the people below seemed hostile...

    Kaia opened her mouth to reply, but shut it quickly as her guide yelled into the tent. When a guard inside responded, Kaia had to force herself not to move. She took deep, shuddering breaths, trying to calm her nerves as her guide stepped away from the tent. She flinched as he yelled, calling for... someone. Finally, Kaia felt as though she could answer the question. "Yes, I can manipulate darkness," she finally said. Her words were weak and quiet in comparison to the previous shout. Taking a deep breath, Kaia tried to speak a little louder. "Shadows. When I control them... I start to become one of them... But then it fades. Afterwards, that is. Um... I haven't really tested their strength, but... I use them to hide. They're good at letting me hide..."

    I have this black glove from an old Halloween costume (I was a Knight of the Dawn, from the Fablehaven books. No one knew what I was. Hehehe...) and I wear it as a safehand glove, but I need to restitch the pinky... It's very long. I also use it when practicing with my bokken (basically a wooden katana) because I have gotten splinters from it before.

    It's been a few years, now, and I'm not quite sure why I don't like them... Well, I do, I just don't know how to explain it because it's kind of weird.

    I know. I've seen you talk about them before. A friend of mine really likes them as well, which was why I read them in the first place.
