  1. I doubt it; while it's possible that it would leave both, that would mean that a Harmonium reaction is one of decomposition, whereas it sounded more like it's more like a matter/antimatter reaction. Atium and Lerasium don't really seem to be "important to the Cosmere" to the extent that phrase would suggest. My best guess is that what it leaves behind is pure (i.e. not associated with any Shard) Investiture.
  2. When something has never been seen by human beings, I don't consider that "lost" so much as "never known in the first place". "Lost" implies that it once was fairly well-known, and then became lost.
  3. Unless, I presume, one of them was already knocked out? (e.g. if Sons are knocked out, then vanilla Parshendi, the game doesn't end; if Voidbringers and Ghostbloods are then knocked out, only the vanilla Alethi win.)
  4. I will also make two characters: Rif is an Alendi darkeyes from the camp of Highlord Vamah. He tends to be shy, except when he has an idea he wants to share. Ethik is a Parshendi who doesn't think this "alliance" business has much chance of working out. (Whether that's simply because of how he assesses the chances, or a more sinister motive, and whether he might change his mind...time will tell.)
  5. More analysis: Alethi generally want to take out Parshendi, since that way they can be sure they're not hitting one of their own, and are actively helping the secret group whose win condition is compatible with their own. (And vice versa as well). Thus, the lynch will always favor the more numerous group, and role identification is more important than alignment identification for non-Ghostbloods (at least until the Sons/Voidbringers are taken out and they have no way to win without taking out the Ghostbloods, or they can wipe out the Ghostbloods and have a significant majority). The Ghostblood kill will generally favor the less numerous group, since the Ghostbloods want to keep things fairly balanced. The Ghostbloods are the only ones with a real vested interest in taking out the Sons/Voidbringers (except for Voidbringers with a love of killing using Stormform, of course).
  6. In which case, the only possible alliances are Alethi/Parshendi, Alethi/Sons of Honor, and Parshendi/Voidbringers.
  7. Does this mean that if all regular Alethi are killed, and then the Sons of Honor take out all the Parshendi, the regular Alethi players do not win? Or is it only for secret factions? Or does the win condition still remain for purposes of determining which players win, but no longer have the ability to cause game end?
  8. Ah, so our age may have begun quite a long time ago...that could be. I'd still be interested in knowing if there's anything official, though.
  9. Questions: -Do members of secret factions count as Alethi/Parshendi for the purpose of win conditions? -If a highprince attacks someone (due to them attacking someone the highprince was protecting), can that be blocked by another highprince? -Can shardblades/plate be transferred? -If a Parshendi in Warform is attacked (so they survive), and they change to another form, is there any benefit in changing back to Warform? -Am I correct in understanding that Sons of Honor and Voidbringers do not have a faction kill?
  10. The way Hoid speaks of Cultivation sort of suggests that she's still around in a way that Preservation wasn't.
  11. Or, for that matter, if she "pushes" it out. She has shown the ability to resist the effects of her form before, and there are plenty of indications that she's still fighting. And, of course, she's probably a Willshaper candidate, and there's probably a reason for that name.
  12. We've seen a description (in Edgedancer) of the type of spren that bind to Truthwatchers, and they are not Cultivationspren.
  13. Stormlight, because it comes with spren characters.
  14. There are no radiants that I particularly expect in book 3, though of those that I expect to happen eventually, "Bondsmith Taravangian" is the one that I think is most likely to be book 3.
  15. If a future event were to be major enough to make its age count as the First Age, I think it would be major enough to mark the end of one age and the beginning of another. And I agree that the end of an age need not be a major catastrophe; however, the beginning of the First Age should probably be major even by "beginning of an age" standards. Myths can indeed be very long-lived. But that should apply to all myths; if the myths rooted in the Third Age last until the First, those rooted in the Seventh should probably last until the Third, but they don't (we have no indication of anything from before the age before the Age of Legends). It's not the particular length that is an issue for the "Age of Legends was the Second" theory, but rather the lack of consistency. It is possible that the upheaval of the Breaking and the Trolloc Wars/100 Years War caused the mismatch, but it is still better, in the absence of a reason not to, to posit that the Breaking began age 1. And you're misreading my chronology: Randland was 1000 years before the fall of the Roman Empire, and we do remember things from that to some extent (if not all that accurately); and the Hundred Years' War was 1000 years before that. If they do have printing, that would make things more difficult as far as the precise chronology goes, though even if one removes the presumption of 1000-year ages in order to allow for a technology-reducing catastrophe at the end of the fourth age prior to the Romans, I still think reading the Age of Legends as Seventh makes a lot more sense. As for plastic garbage: Between the Age of Legends and the Breaking of the World, its absence can be fairly adequately explained even if the Age of Legends was not all that long.
  16. To do all the Cosmere books and complete stories (i.e. not the broadsheets or other Allomancer Jak stuff) I've read so far: White Sand Vol 1: Elantris: The Hope of Elantris: The Emperor's Soul: The Eleventh Metal: The Final Empire: The Well of Ascension (difficult because so many largely-unrelated things occur): The Hero of Ages: Secret History: Alloy of Law: Shadows of Self: I don't think I can do better than (or even close to but substantially different than) the OP on this one. Bands of Mourning: Shadows for Silence: Sixth of the Dust: Warbreaker: Way of Kings (Kaladin arc): Words of Radiance (Shallan arc): Edgedancer:
  17. Unlikely, as that religion was very different from what we see from Miles. More likely, the invading Shard just picked up on the name in order to get more supporters. And I don't think it would be that big of a spoiler for us to know what metal the title of the book refers to, so I'm still leading toward it being atium. None of the other candidates were really "lost", more "never well-known in the first place".
  18. I could see Stormlight Archive working as a movie series...but only if they're willing to break each book into 3 (maybe 2) movies. If even Harry Potter 7 couldn't be done in a single movie...
  19. What makes you think that Dan Brown would take over if something happened to Sanderson?
