No purple you said, OB ch 57: Voidlight isn't just purple, "Voidlight takes the form of dark, purple-on-black vapor, glowing violet" (source: Coppermind), which is just as "the core of Odium." What I think is happening, and this is my personal, non-canon opinion, is that color gold is associated with Passion, black-violet with pure Odium, red with corruption. We know Rayse was trying hard to change Odium into something more, to make him Passion. He wasn't fully successful at this, but he did manage to influence the Shard a little bit - that's where the gold came from. But yes, officially Odium's true color is gold, while red is corrupted investiture: It's not red, it's not corrupted. But BAM supplying Singers with Voidlight was something new, that happened only during the False Desolation, not earlier as far as we know. Odium on the other hand was able to do that much earlier, during Desolations. OB ch 80: Venli can use Voidlight because she has a Voidspren imprisoned in her gemheart. This isn't something that happened before. Voidlight is pure light. It isn't a combination of two lights, it isn't corrupted. This is proven by its spectrum measured by Navani, RoW ch 65: Voidlight is pure light of Odium. It's not corrupted, it's not a combination of two lights. It resonates with Odium's pure tone as well. RoW confirmed it. It's not golden, true, but black-violet still appears deep within Odium.

I honestly have no idea. The bigger quote: So Hoid suspects Riina tried to get rid of him because she was worried. She didn't like that Tress saw through her ruse. And in addition to this, something else bothered her, "obvious to readers'', but oblivious to Tress (at least Tress was oblivious to Riina's feelings). I don't think it's about Hoid, because he just described her plan, said he suspected that she was beginning to worry about their bet, so that's not any "addition." She wasn't worried of being defeated, but she didn't know about Tress' ship being that close to her tower - she wasn't paying attention: Is that what Hoid meant? Was she bothered because she thought she could have used Tress but she was smarter than Riina thought? Was she bothered because now she was thinking that she had missed something else too while making her judgments? That she wasn't paying enough attention? That might have been obvious to us, readers, that the ship is out there, following Tress, because her crew was so loyal to her. But Riina might have missed that, just like she missed how able Tress was in recognising Charlie. That's the only thing I can think of.

WaT looks wrong. For me it's still KoWT, the opposite of (t)WoK. That's how the in-world book will be called, the ketek still exists in-world! Only the names of the first 5 books will form the final ketek, the back 5 books will probably have it's own, separate ketek.

Keep reading Mistborn Era 2, when you read SH things will be explained a bit more. Shardic future sight was not only already planned but included in Era 1 - that's the whole reason Terris prophecies exist. They were made by Preservation. That's why Atium shows the future, because it's foreshadowing Fortune and the future sight in Cosmere. Ruin used his precognitive abilities, that's why he exposed and showed himself to Vin in Fadrex storage cave - he saw that he had won, he saw that Vin couldn't do anything to stop him. At least that's what he thought. He either ignored, deemed impossibly unlikely, or simply he didn't see those possibilities where he was outplayed and defeated. Ruin isn't that good at future sight compared to other Shards, which didn't help him at all. Future isn't set in metal. It's not certain. "It’s as if the future is a shattering window. The further you look, the more pieces that window breaks into. The near future can be anticipated, but the distant future … I can only guess.”

Would a Dysian Aimian be able to become a Radiant?
alder24 replied to Stick The Savant's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, I think they would be able to breed perfect gemhearts. They exist naturally from gemhearts: -
A person can fit more than one Radiant Order. Early Vin, TFE or WoA Vin, would fit well with Lightweavers, as there were a lot of "truths" she had to accept during those times - that she can be safe, she can trust, she can love and be with Elends, be herself. She would be a very good Windrunner, she wants to protect people, all of them, even to the point of self-sacrifice (she was chosen by Preservation, she was most fitted to Preservation, because of her will to protect others, best seen during the siege of Luthadel). She would also fit Dustbringers a bit - whole idea of self mastery and learning to control her destructive powers. I'm not so sure about Stonewards - it fits a bit but I'm not sure it fits the most. Windrunners would probably be the best fit. Sazed would be a great Edgedancer, the whole remembering people would be focused on him remembering religions and knowledge of the past. He would be a good Willshaper too, freeing Terris people from captivity. A Truthwatcher fits for him only during HoA, trying to find the ultimate truth about religions, which one is the true one. But the very end HoA Sazed would fit Bondsmiths too - uniting two Shards together, keeping the world at peace. Elend would fit Elsecallers - both as a scholar and a leader, trying to reach his true potential. Bondsmith too as of HoA. Skybreaker would fit him as well - he created laws of the new kingdom and obeyed them even when he had a chance to hide the truth to remain in power. Kelsier, WoB answered this better than I can:

Alendi was spiked. Hemalurgy was used before Rashek: Yes. It's likely. There is a way to grant Feruchemy with the use of Scadrian god metals. I'm personally leaning more towards Preservation granting them this ability/knowledge because he needed Terris prophecies to be remembered. You are correct. I get you now. That very possible. Sure, but it's still "thousands of years" when it has been only 2000 years with Rashek and Vin as Ascendants. We simply don't know. It's more likely that there were others, but we have no confirmation of that. There is always another secret. Giving too many answers now will leave fewer things to reveal in the future, when they're needed, when the plot is focused on them. Plus not everything has to be uncovered - there are so many unknowns in Earth's history that will never be known. Don't expect Brandon to write any prequel to Mistborn, he's not liking them. At best we might get some prequel story in the form of another media, like games. He immediately started hunting down and destroying every religion in the world, targeting Terris' religion the most. He claimed to be the god of this world, he alone, and created a new religion, focused around himself, without even mentioning Ruin and Preservation. He was a megalomaniac with a god complex. He might have tolerated the Kandra religion because they were still under his direct control, because of the First Contract. They had to obey him, he wasn't worried they would spread their religion. Moreover they played a pivotal role in his plans to fight Ruin, if he were to escape - they were keeping Atium save, they were his spies among Hemalurgic constructs - they need to know what's at stakes and why their role is so important. At least the First Generation knew that. The knowledge about Ruin and Preservation among Kandra and the First came most likely from Rashek himself - that's because in Kwaan's inscription in WoA there was no mention of them, there was no mention of Ruin being trapped in the Well, and Kwaan came to this conclusion alone. If the Teriss people during Rashek's time had known about all of this, Kwaan would have known that too, and the whole deal with Alendi would have been so much simpler. Instead this was most likely forgotten by this time, changed by Ruin, who wiped Preservation out of people's minds. The First Generation likely didn't know that before Rashek Ascended. It means Rashek told them all of this because he got aware of this while holding the power of the Well. The First Generation simply knew too much - they knew what Mists and Atium are, they knew Ruin was imprisoned in the Well. If this had been a common religious knowledge Rashek wouldn't have tried to burn Mists away, or Kwaan would have been aware of Ruin. No. Read Secret History. The knowledge came from simply holding so much of the power of Preservation, from Ascending to it and using it. His mind was expanded by so much power and he learned a lot of things. It's not because Preservation was directly talking to him or giving him this knowledge. He would be blinded by metal as well when he was holding the power of the Well - it's a simple deduction. HoA ch 9: Kind of both. Some old, weak or sick people were dying because Mists were choosing at random and those people had worse chances at surviving such a traumatic event (it was said in that quote). But Ruin in general did encourage them to cause more harm. However the Mists staying during the day were programmed more or less by Preservation. They were meant to stay to Snap people to give them powers. HoA ch :

Right, kids won't be working. My reasoning was that a Roman Plebeian can survive daily by being paid 1 denarius a day, which is worth ~26$ today, thus he would spend that denarius on food and necessary commodities. The value of 1 denarius was estimated by knowing the prices of wheat and bread, 1 denarius isn't equal to 1 loaf of bread, looking at the source: You can buy 8-16 breads with 1 denarius. Yes, you can feed a few people with that, but you can't survive on bread alone - thus I assumed that with 1 denarius a person can buy everything needed to be fed healthy for a day. 1 denarius was a pay for the poorest class of workers, a common soldier or unskilled laborer, that's why I assumed you won't be able to feed a family of 8 with that alone. It's a simple assumption to avoid digging into the prices of meat or vegetables during the times of Caesar or something like that. But sure, that's the highest value of the Breaths, with the lowest being 9621.40$ (1 denarius a day is enough to feed a family of 8 alone). In the more middle ground, it might be like 2 or 3 denarii a day for a family of that size.

Breaking Hemalurgic Spikes With Awakening?
alder24 replied to Trusk'our's topic in Cosmere Discussion
If you're changing the Identity then yes/maybe. If not, if it's like breaking through the Command and enforcing your own without changing the Identity, then no. The only mention of type 3 Command Breaking was in Ars Arcanum so it's hard to say anything about it. It can go either way. I think it should work the same for all types, thus if you don't change Lifeless Identity (that wouldn't make much sense) then you can't change type 3 object Identity as well - you're only breaking through it to change the Command, but the Identity remains the same. Unkeyed Awakened objects would most likely be more susceptible to Command Breaking - but tbf that wouldn't be needed for type 2, just recall Breaths and Awaken again. If Identity isn't changed, then you might be able to Command it "your Breath to your Awakener" or something like that - if the Awakener is touching it. It's possible to Command Break without the 8th Heightening - Lightsong's priests had done that with Vasher's squirrel. However Command Breaking takes some time, even Susebron would need some time to Break a single object/Lifeless. I don't think it's a viable strategy during a fight. Warbreaker ch 58: ch 38: ch 47: He? We've learnt it in the epilogue of TFE, and it was hinted earlier in the book. We've never seen it. We only saw the results of it - Vasher's squirrel and a few Lifeless city guards planted by Bluefingers (mentioned in annotations). Edit: I think there is something to support that you can't change Identity with Command Breaking. Vasher couldn't retrieve Breaths from Vivenna's shawl and said only she can do this. Vasher, with 1000 Breaths, would be more than able to retrieve them on his own if needed, thus Command Breaking doesn't change Identity of type 3 objects, only pushes through it to change the Command. That makes more sense in my opinion. ch 43: -
Breaking Hemalurgic Spikes With Awakening?
alder24 replied to Trusk'our's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Hmm. No? By looking at WoBs it looks like Command Breaking would allow you to take control over Hemalurgist rather than break their spikes "Commands," like emotional Allomancy do. This WoB, not canon but: And then there is this WoB stating that Command Breaking is very similar to Unmaking (and you might find this WoB interesting because of the second question), which we don't know how it works, more like corruption and changing the spirit web itself, killing the being in process: But Realmatically speaking, what does Command Breaking do? With type 3 objects it kind of replaces the identity of their Awakener to yours (maybe?) allowing you to issue new Command. With Lifeless? They have their own identity, you can't replace that. I think it's more like a brute forcing through the wall that is a security phrase - which sounds similar to how emotional Allomancy affects Hemalurgic constructs, how Vin was "breaking through walls" in TenSoon, Koloss or Marsh's minds. HoA ch 65: Of course, we've never seen Command Breaking being done from 1st person view so it's a bit speculative. However looking at that ability from this perspective, looking at other abilities similar to this, I think Command Breaking would allow you to take control over spiked people. Command Breaking doesn't replace Breaths, it gives them new Commands - but spikes had already done their "Command" part when they stole powers - that's when Intent and Command matters the most. You wouldn't change what's inside the spike, what a spike can give, and if it's already placed in a recipient, what it gives depends on what's inside and where it is placed - Intend has already done its job. With Awakened objects Intent and Command is constantly making the object do its job, that's why you can change it. Therefore it makes sense to me that Command Breaking would give you Hemalurgic control instead. -
You mean Roman Plebeian? What's your source on "wearing clothes until it falls from their back?" Anyway, interesting information form Wikipedia: On the value of Denarius: Assuming the payment of 1 denarius a day, which by this calculator is worth 26.36$ today, times 365 days, times 8 family members is equal to 76971.20 USD. That's the cost of one Breath, assuming those numbers are approximately correct.

True, I forgot about that, TFE ch 33: He doesn't just talk about which feelings he's Smoothing, he is explaining why he's doing that, which fits well with "Breeze is getting into the character," like an actor before a play. My bad. That makes more sense. I would say at most Commands would help you to figure out the intent you need. Once you get the intent right, you don't need any Command.

No, Invested Arts in general manifests naturally on a planet due to interactions between Shards and the planet and people's perception. Shards don't create them directly. They can however alter them to some degree. Thus the Snapping mechanism via Mists was a direct alteration done by Preservation. He also did Splinter Ruin, stealing part of his power, while having in mind that people will burn it when the time comes. But Allomancy was a tool that existed and was simply used by Preservation. He might have left Lerasium beads near the Well for somebody to start strong Allomantic genes, so that all of the Mistborn Era 1 story could happen - we don't know where Lerasium came from. We don't know. We know there were not many Ascendants prior to Rashek - at most 9-10, or Rashek could have been the first one to Ascend at the Well. This means that every 1000 years, when the Well was full, the Mists started Snapping people, then after the power was taken and used, they simply stopped, becoming dormant again. But just like in HoA, just because Mists were Snapping people doesn't mean they knew they were now Allomancers. Even Alendi didn't know that and he was a Seeker - he could hear the Well pulsing, but didn't know that's because of Allomancy. And because those powers were not given by Lerasium, there are no strong genes to be given to the next generation, thus there would have been no Allomantic lines at all. Those Snapped by Mists were weak Allomancers, weaker in power (1st WoB in my original post). His god and master?? Rashek was dismissive of Preservation. It wasn't his god and master - at least not after he learned that Preservation is mostly dead and impotent. Rashek was the god in his own mind. Have you read Secret History? SH ch 1-2: It's also possible that Rashek didn't fully know that Mists were Snapping people giving them Allomancy. In that case he would know they are Preservation's power but they cover the land in the daytime, choking the sunlight and killing crops, not to mention people, thus he would judge them as "a foul, hateful thing." Or he knew that Ruin encouraged them, made them more violent and deadly and that's why he called them that. It wasn't Mists and Preservation that were killing, it was Ruin who pushed them in that direction. HoA ch 81: Are Mists referred to in books as "it" or "they/them"? In HoA epigraphs Mists are called "they/them" (like above), but the message is "it". "It" and "thing" are also what Rashek calls Ruin, which was on two other plates. Vetitan plate: Urteau plate: Fadrex plate: It can simply be that Rashek was calling Ruin as "a foul, hateful thing," not Mists. That's the simplest and most likely explanation even if the phrasing of that plate is a little weird. It doesn't also help that by this time even Preservation didn't know his own plans. In general the plan was to delay Ruin until someone appears that could Ascend to both Ruin and Preservation. One day we may get them. It would be boring to get all the answers now.

Best system to pair with Awakening?
alder24 replied to Tamriel Wolfsbaine's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Elantrian. AonDor is the most versatile invested art, it can do basically everything and replicate every other invested art if needed (including manipulation of Connections and spirit webs). And you can make switchable Aons that Awakened objects can activate when Commanded. So just imagine Awakened rope, covered in Aonic Lightweaving to be camouflaged into the surrounding, silenced with Aon Ate, jumping on your target and catching it, activating Aon Ehe or Aon Daa to blast them into oblivion. An Awakened cloak with Command to protect you, but instead of catching arrows, it activates Aon Edo, which creates a force field that stops every strike on you. You got wounded? Awakened objects that is Commanded to activate Aon Ien to heal you if you get wounded. Not to mention teleportation with Aon Tia - instead of trying to close in on your opponent, you just teleport a rope right above him to catch him immediately. You can make Awakened turrets that will point towards your enemy so that Aon Ehe or Aon Daa can fire at them. Basically you can be an Elantrian who doesn't need to draw Aons because you have Awakened objects doing it for you. -
I think he did it once, when he was teaching Vin how to use emotional Allomancy (TFE ch 10). In his PoV chapters in WoA he didn't speak aloud while Soothing, but he did think about what emotions he was affecting. Of course, those would be awfully long Commands. I disagree. It was his way of getting into the shoes of people he was Soothing, thinking about emotions they feel, those which can stay or have to go. He is so experienced that he understood a Soother needs to know what others are feeling to make them feel more natural when emotional Allomancy was applied - to make them do what a Soother wants them to do. TFE ch 10: WoA ch 38: Probably not, Command is the focus for the Intent: Even in Hemalurgy Command only helps you but isn't needed, TLM ch 47: You already store those separately - each sense is in its own Metalmind. WoA:

No, at least the description of F-pewter is about muscle mass only. The magic of Feruchemy might siphon some of investiture to "strengthen" your bones so they won't snap under increased mass of your muscles, just like with F-iron. But this isn't "functional" power, it's just something that makes your body able to use Feruchemy. They would still normally break if hit directly (but more muscles absorb more impact energy, less of it is transferred into your bones thus you can get hit harder without breaking your bones). Yes, but that's not because of his bones but that's because of his bigger muscles, absorbing and withstanding more energy. The stronger the muscles the heavier hits you can take on them. No. Your skeleton isn't altered by F-pewter. It won't grow. It's your muscles only.

Just like people Snapped by Mists during HoA had no idea that they were now Allomancers, just like Alendi and others Snapped 1000 years ago had no idea as well, it's quite possible that Southerners were simply unaware that such powers, like Allomancy or Feruchemy, existed at all. They would be very weak Metalborns, because they had no genetic connection to Lerasium, so even if some were burning trace amounts of metals from their water and food, they wouldn't produce big and obvious results of their powers. Not to mention Feruchemy, where you need to touch the metal and have the intent to store a specific attribute. To become an Allomancer you would need to go through extremely emotional experiences, mostly painful and traumatic. Skaa, even if their lives were miserable, rarely experienced something like that. In noble families, kids were beaten almost to death to bring out their Allomantic powers. We don't know if Snapping was needed for Feruchemy, but if you need to live through something so traumatic, most Metalborns in the South would never be Snapped. However Snapping changed after Catacendre - Harmony made it work automatically without requiring traumatic beatings. Since the Ice Death all Southerners who had enough Metalborn potential in them would just get Snapped, which would make Metalborns far more numerous - but still people would not know that they are Metalborn. In my opinion, the most likely scenario is that Kelsier simply taught them what Metallic Arts are and how to recognize Snapping and powers they've got. Thus they "suddenly came into existence." They were always there but they didn't know they had powers, just like Vin was not aware what she can do with her "Luck." Unlike Vin, Southern Metalborn would be very weak in power, because there were no remnants of Lerasium in their Spiritual DNA - just like people Snapped by Mists were weak Alloamncers. Hemalurgy isn't an option. Kelsier couldn't have given them spikes to make them into Metalborns and start Metalborn lines in their society. Powers given by Hemalurgy are not transferable to offspring. And they can't reuse their spikes for 300 years because those would practically lose all of their power and become useless - even if creating medallions with Hemalurgy is easier to do than without. They have to have natural Metalborns in their population, thus it's more likely Kelsier just made them aware of those powers. However he might have given them also the knowledge of Hemalurgy, so they can spike powers out of dying people and give them to young ones to not lose precious Metalborns (less likely due to moral issues but still possible, Kelsier by this time knew a lot about Hemalurgy).

Thoughts on KoWaT after reading Sunlit Man
alder24 replied to CameronUluvara's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This theory is pretty much busted because of the timeline, and the fact that Hoid is no longer a Dawnshard, he gave it up long ago. Sizgil became a Dawnshard when he was 38 years old. That seems like years into the future. In RoW Sigzil doesn't feel like being in his late 30s, he's more like in his 20s. Admitablely, I couldn't find information about Sigzil's age in SA so we don't fully know what's his current age. TSM ch 11: Only after he became a Dawnshard did he bond with Aux. That means that the "spoiler for SA5" is most likely referring to Sigzil's "mistake" as the leader of Windrunners (as he seems to regret his decision made as a leader and doesn't want to be put in this position again) and his decision to abandon the order for whatever reasons. TSM ch 33: I agree, in KoWT we will see Sigzil swearing the 4th Ideal and getting his plate, then most likely committing this "mistake" of his, and later abandoning the order of Windrunners. I don't think so. First, what does it mean that he held it for a short time? We only know he held it shorter than Hoid did. Secondly, he bonded with Aux as Dawnshard (they met in CR, possibly leaving Roshar imo), he swore 4th Ideal and broke his Oaths, before Dawnshard consumed Aux in self-defense. But they'd spent decades together before Dawnshard killed Aux. Sigzil was a Dawnshard for decades. That's a long time, but still shorter than Hoid. TSM ch 6: Well, Kaladin saw Tien in a vision, Dalinar saw Nohadon etc - you can reach into SR and bring those Connections to dead people out, creating visions like this. This might be such an example. I mean by this that Sigzil thinking this was Kaladin doesn't mean Kaladin is alive. Sigzil was shocked by this thought, as it was almost impossible, which implies that Kaladin is dead by now. TSM ch 9: To add more, Hoid can't Skip, despite the fact he was the same Dawnshard for longer than Sig. Not every former Dawnshard can Skip, this WoB suggest that only Sig can: Interesting. That's much more likely in my opinion. But Sigzil IS in charge of Windrunners as of RoW. Kaladin retired and Sig replaced him. RoW ch 15&116: I don't agree. Honor already is Splintered and Surges work just fine. They still exist, because Honor's investiture is on Roshar. If you were to take all of that investiture out of Roshar, then Surgebinding (the invested art) might cease to exist - but this didn't happen because Aux still exists and he is partially Honor. Surges won't just disappear. My guess is that a full truth came out about the First Desolation - when humanity arrived on Roshar - and about Honor allowing Odium to settle on Roshar. Sig seems to despise the very concept of honor and being honorable in TSM. Whatever truth was exposed it shaked his moral code, which resulted in abandoning his Oaths, or possibly even a second Recreance. Ch 40: He might have just leave it, or break the bond without killing his Honorspren (there are ways to do it before 5th Ideal, Notum said that in OB). -
That's not Command Breaking. You can Command Break Awakened objects without damaging them, just like you can do with Lifeless. Command Breaking is about overwriting Commands of other Awakened entities (type 2, 3 and even 4) with your own Commands, it's not just Lifeless.

The WoB above still applies, Nightblood is NOT a Dawnshard. That means Nightblood isn't a new 5th Dawnshard too.

Harmonium is not comparable to anti-investiture. It represents the Shard of Harmony, thus its properties are derived from Harmony directly. Anti-investiture however is just the opposite "charge"/tone of investiture. Theoretically mixing Ruin and Preservation's investiture together before Sazed Ascend wouldn't result in Harmonium, but inverting the tone of any investiture before Navani or Gavilar did that, would always make anti-investiture (as long as intent was there). Antimatter has the opposite electric and magnetic charge, anti-investiture has the opposite tone (and maybe more, that we still don't know about). This is what defines its properties in Cosmere, whatever they are. That's what I meant by "it existed before it was created." Of course, I'm not denying it. Stormlight is keyed to Honor and that defines its properties. Properties of a specific type of anti-investiture would be based on the original type of investiture - Anti-Stormlight would be different than Anti-Voidlight because their tones are different. But Anti-Stormlight would still annihilate in contact with Anti-Voidlight - their tones are opposite enough to make this reaction. They DON'T annihilate. It's a fission process, more or less, not annihilation. Ruin's investiture is not anti-Preservation's investiture. Only a fraction of Harmonium is converted into energy and that's only when Trellium is applied. It's not annihilation, it's not a matter-antimatter reaction, just something similar to fission, where bonds holding Ruin and Preservation's particles together are released as energy. Yes, it's keyed, physical investiture in one of 4 forms, with properties derived from its Shard's nature. By raw investiture I meant here physical investiture in general. Agreed on that. What kinds of properties? Stormlight is still Stormlight no matter where on Roshar it's used and by whom. People's perception doesn't influence Stormlight's properties. Here I disagree. I didn't understand what properties you were talking earlier. No. A spirit web is in the Spiritual Realm. It's the spiritual manifestation of a person, just like a "flame" is the Cognitive manifestation of a person. A spirit web exists in SR with Connections connecting it to other Realms, while anti-investiture was made from physical investiture which is physical, but still transcends all realms, thus can interact with souls or cognitive entities like spren. That means death, as you sever your Connection to your body and to PR and CR. At best you could trap your soul in a gemstone and turn it anti. But then what? Maybe some anti-spren made entirely out of raw anti-investiture, thus affected by perception just like spren are. But if you just turn your soul anti, you would die, as what makes you you is gone - all your connections are severed, identity screwed, and at worse it would get annihilated immediately because of investiture in SR. That's why I said it's hard for me to see anti-soul working. I don't know how anti-investiture which exists in SR behaves and interacts - if it can be there without interacting with normal investiture, than maybe you can do something more with it. I doubt that however. True. You can make entire stars out of antimatter - you can make a lot with anti-investiture, but there are probably some limitations because of the existence of SR in Cosmere. I don't doubt much more would be made with anti-investiture in the future, however I doubt it would be just a mirror reflection of normal investiture.

1000 at least. He got them from Vahr who had 1000 Breaths - 4th Heightening. Actually that was 50 Breaths - 50 years of food for a peasant family. The same calculation as Jewels' trade 1 Breath for feeding the family of 8 for a year. ch 5:

Who would win. Kaladin (end of RoW) or vin (Middle of HoA)
alder24 replied to WhispersOfWit's topic in Cosmere Discussion
It's really hard to break through a living Shardplate and Vin has no Atium. A metalless, flat plateau doesn't help Vin at all. Kaladin would win, he doesn't really need to use his Stormlight. Mistborn Vin is an assassin, not a frontline soldier like Kaladin. Here are Brandon's answers to this question, but those are all before Kaladin got his Shardplate: -
I don't get what you mean by this. Anti-investiture existed before it was created - the laws of Cosmere allowed it to exist even if it wasn't there. Maybe, just like with anti-matter in our universe, there are pockets of anti-investiture distribution here and there, being the remnants of Cosmere Big Bang. The properties of anti-investiture are therefore defined by the unchanging laws of Cosmere. There is of course a Cognitive component added to it - like it's always the case with investiture - perception can influence anti-investiture to some degree, but I wouldn't say that perception shapes its properties now because it never existed before. Raw investiture itself transcends all 3 Realms, I wouldn't say it has a clear cognitive component/manifestation, like other objects have (Realmatic theory - everything has a manifestation in all 3 Realms, like a stick has a bead in CR), so there is nothing to twist here - if this is what you meant by that. I don't think that would work. Soul exists in SR, where investiture exists as well. Anti-soul would be annihilated there. All the Connections and stuff like would be separated as well, your body is technically a form of investiture - I really can't see this working in any other way than instant death.
