  1. He named himself: I would say that Harmony is a Shard made out of two Shards. Harmony is a Shard now for sure, but Ruin and Preservation are still separate within him. The chapter's name, where Navani and Raboniel created Warlight, is named "Harmony". I think Sazed is the Emulsifier for Ruin and Preservation's investiture (Harmonium is the proof of it). However because Sazed views himself as Harmony, as two separate powers working together in Harmony, this forces them not to fully combine into one power. Sazed still mixes them together like lights can be mixed, but his essence, the intent of his being, isn't one and unified as deeply as he should be. Considering himself to be Harmony or Discord won't do that, something like Creation for example might. At least that's my opinion.
  2. In the same way regular soldiers of historical periods did that - by colors, uniforms, banners, symbols and formations. Lifeless fight in strict formations, not 1 on 1 combats. It's easy to dictate them a series of Commands which just say which units they are meant to attack, and which units they mustn't attack. Visualization would play a massive role - just simply saying "attack enemies of Hallandren" or even just "attack" (on the actual battlefield) when you imagine how those enemy troops would look like, what uniforms, colors and banners they would have, is enough for Lifeless. Lifeless can be given more than 1 Command, you can easily "program" them not to attack friendly troops and when a war starts you give them new Commands specifying who is their enemy now. They were both members in uniforms of the city watch, thus they were Commanded to consider themselves as allies - those Lifeless had no problem going against Clud-Lifeless. The unspecify use of the deadly force probably means that if Lifeless are attacked, they can fight back and even kill in self-defense. But with no fighting there would be no problems - if Bluefingers didn't Command Break a few of those Lifeless, ordering them to just kill. ch 31 There is a general knowledge (at least in more the "upper class" of criminal underground that Denth and Tonk Fah are part of) that if you surrender and don't resist, you won't be in trouble. Starting a fight is a bad idea, because they will respond with their swords. Visualization and Intent are the most important component of Awakening. Your Command might be simple, but proper visualization will give it more meaning. He could just say "attack the Lifeless army" and his mind would provide a specific set of objectives that would determine which army to attack and where they are. Or something more specific, like "go towards Idris and destroy all Lifeless that are a part of the rogue army of Hallandren". ch 21 Vasher's squirrel didn’t run out of the building, or where he came from, it ran precisely to the room where servants who saw him fled. He didn't include that in his verbal Command, but intent and visualization probably did that, thus the squirrel ran after the fleeing servants. Those people were the ones that needed to be distracted, not maids in the other wing of the palace. Probably some general Command about protecting the group plus increased self-awareness that Clod shows. That doesn't happen. Not just 4 Returned have Commands, there is a whole selection of priests, servants and probably military officers that would be given Commands giving them lesser control over a group of Lifeless. The army would be divided into units, platoons, companies etc. Just like a normal army is. Lifeless aren't meant to be without leadership. ch 55:
  3. A body? What is a body for beings so invested like Shards and Adonalsium? Investiture is their "body", just like Mists or Shardmetal is the "body" of a Shard. But Adonalsium is gone. Dead and Shattered. All of his investiture got divided into 16 pieces. All of it, as far as we are aware. Shards are his "body". Buuuut it's possible that Adonalsium left a Cognitive Shadow behind. Could this be this sun? I doubt it. This sun is not just in the Rosharan subastral, but also in the Scadrian subastral. Moreover, it disappears the further away you are from the planet, which means each planet has a separate sun. SH Ch 5-1: But we don't know what the sun in CR is, and we don't know almost anything about Adonalsium. There is no hard evidence against this theory.
  4. I know that feeling. Oh boy, you're in for a ride Can't wait for more!
  5. The linchpin spike holds your soul together when you have too many spikes and also it coordinates those spikes and links spikes in the head with the spikes in the torso and limbs. If you have so many spikes that you need a linchpin spike, then no, removing other spikes isn't a possibility. Your soul is already strained so much that it can't hold itself together without that additional linchpin spike. Spikes leave permanent damage in your soul, even if it's lessened by removal of spikes, they still leave a hole. Not every spike is placed in a bind point that can be safely removed - a hole straight through your body is deadly in general. Not to mention that at this point it's the magic of Hemalurgy that sustains your body. If you remove a vital spike, like in the eye, it's the Hemalurgy that sustains you, despite lethal injuries. If you remove too many spikes, this will fail and you would simply die from having too many holes in your body. In HoA one of the inquisitors was pushed by Vin so hard into the ground that the impact removed several of his spikes. While we don't know which spikes were removed, it proves that if you remove too many spikes, you die. The linchpin spike was unlikely to be removed, because it didn't stick out of his back, which hit the ground. HoA ch 73: I don't think this is possible. If you have so many spikes that you need a linchpin spike, you can't live without those spikes, you can't remove them.
  6. The chasm is inside the country but it's just below the mountain range on the east, meaning in the Aon the chasm line should be outside of the "box". Here is a WoB on that with the image: No. The Dot is the lake Alonoe, which is a circular lake in the middle of Arelon. It's not Elantris. No. It's just a lake. There is no Perpendicularity there, at least I don't remember any being there, nor Coppermind do.
  7. I personally don't want him to be a typical Radiant. Him being something different and special with Maya is fine and expected at that point. But still, I really enjoy his non-Radiant PoV, he is the last non-Radiant PoV character in SA after Navani bonded with the Sibling. Not everyone has to be a Radiant.
  8. Nothing much. He doesn't gain the knowledge or skill that those people in his visions have. In Nohodon's first vision he didn't even know that the person he was in that vision lost his arm, nor that he was one of the trusted advisors and a friend of the king. He did that. In OB ch 34, he took over one of the Radiant that arrived at the scene, he even tried to find out something about Shardplates and failed. Stormfather warned him he wouldn't learn much from asking questions. He himself, as Radiant in that vision, did not gain any knowledge, feelings or thoughts of that person. He was fully himself. That could have been useful, but I doubt he would have gotten much from it. As said by the Stormfather in the quote above, this is just a charade, they aren't real people, or real spren - they don't have any mind or soul. In OB ch 34, the Midnight Mother encounter, he was a Radiant, be he wasn't able to talk to her spren, hear them or even feel them - the same would likely be the case during the Feverstone Keep vision. He would fully replace that Radiant, including their Shards and Spren - they would be gone. But he might have been able to get something from other Radiants - a useful word or two.
  9. I see no further point to this argument and bringing up more definitions is useless. You are not willing to accept the most recent WoB on this topic, which straight up said: "Mateform is not the only form capable of [re]producing--any more than warform is the only one capable of swinging a sword." This WoB clearly proves that the theory presented in this thread is possible. Let's end this here and agree to disagree.
  10. I'm not sure, but the first one aligns with what I said earlier: "he felt its weight pulling him down, his fists feeling like balls of iron on the ends of lead arms."
  11. Yes, several. You can see him using Allomancy in SA for example. But it was directly confirmed by Brandon in WoBs:
  12. Have you ever read that last WoB??? "Most Listener forms are asexual, but several forms are different, including slaveform." Several, according to its dictionary definition, means “more than two but not many.” It's not just Mateform and Slaveform. Again, in the last WoB I provided (the other WoB, not the "neutered" one), which was earlier quoted by @Trusk'our, Brandon said that "Mateform is not the only form capable of [re]producing--any more than warform is the only one capable of swinging a sword." It's a more recent WoB - from 2015, the one mentioning "neutered" is from 2014. It directly proves that many, if not all forms are capable of reproduction, in the same way all forms are capable of swinging a sword. If you want to prove someone's wrong, start reading WoBs and arguments they provide. Interestingly, the second meaning of the word "neuter" is "make ineffective" - "disarmament negotiations that will neuter their military power." This fits well with the last WoB - other forms are ineffective in reproduction compared to Mateform, just like other forms are ineffective in swinging a sword compared to Warform. Why haven't you included this definition in your post as well?
  13. That explains everything. Tress ch 2: ch 31:
  14. Because rockets, AI and Marsh didn't exist back then...
  15. SEVERAL forms are not asexual, including Slaveform - not just Slaveform, several others as well. Mateform is not the only form capable of reproduction any more than warform is the only one capable of swinging a sword. Literally every form is capable of swinging a sword - EVERY form can do that, but not every form wants to do that or is good at that. For those generally asexual forms that can reproduce this would mean low fertility, high chance of miscarriage, problems with child delivery and possibly no ability to breastfeed. Mateform is simply a specialized form that vastly reduces these problems. Being just asexual and being fully infertile are two completely different things. Infertility would debunk this theory, asexuality wouldn't. This WoB proves other forms are also fertile and there are more than 2 forms that aren't asexual. Even if you are asexual you can still want to have a child and engage in sexual reproduction. Singers don't change to Mateform just to see what will happen, they do that because they want to have a child. They had that feeling while being in a different form, they've changed because they wanted to maximize their chances. This theory is possible. Yes, you are wrong.
  16. Changing your age with Forgery is possible, but it's really hard. Your age is part of your Connections, that's what you would have to try to change.
  17. It works like Fabrials probably. This device might have enough life-force and identity (more than what current medallions have) to provide the intent itself instead of a person wearing it. No. Tapping weight is making you slower and more sluggish. Your body is only changed to be able to unhold added weight, but it doesn't get stronger, like with F-pewter. You are heavier, your mass to strength ratio is changed, thus you are slower in consequences. You aren't stronger, F-iron makes you able to not collapse and break bones under increased weight. I'm quite sure it was shown in books but I can't find it now. The only one I've found is from WoB ch 58, but at that moment Sazed is also tapping F-pewter, making his body larger and slower too.
  18. That's not true. Kelsier did that. Kelsier planned and orchestrated the entire rebellion which brought the fall of the Final Empire and the death of the Lord Ruler. That was all Kelsier's doing, even if VIn killed Rashek. I think Hoid is talking about the fall of the Empire. He was one of the beggar-informants Kelsier was in contact with in TFE. In WoA and HoA Hoid was among Terris people to learn more about how to get Feruchemy - that's probably was his main goal, which is something he would not be able to do if TLR was still alive. Additionally, Hoid might have felt Ruin is going to be freed and he tried to intervene (unlikely, if that was his goal, why would he be among Terris people after TFE, but on the other hand he was in Fadrex in HoA). @Returned There is a lot of Cosmere spoilers in your post. This is Mistborn forum only
  19. Once again this, more recent WoB: You're wrong.
  20. What release of Kandra are you talking about? Sending them out on a mission into wide Cosmere isn't giving them freedom. We didn't see Sazed releasing Kandra at the end of Era 2. This event could be any time in the future. There are rockets and sentient, Awakened computers and AI in Tress, a type of technology that doesn't exist now, that won't exist in Era 3 even. That is far in the future than Era 3 (Era 3 is 1980 Earth). Because space travel is present in Tress, this means that Tress takes place when the space travel will happen in Cosmere - far in the future.
  21. Or because he didn't change his appearance that much, he was still himself, no mention of them implies they are still there, especially if you consider that wounds stayed and this part: "He hadn’t changed shape to look like someone else. He just looked like a Returned version of himself." No mention of scars means no data. We can't conclude that it means something, Vivenna would know and notice his lack of scars, she saw him without his shirt multiple times. For me this suggests a bit more that his scars are still there. True. I wanted to simply say that I've never looked at this that way. I've never thought of that. I find your interpretation possible now, but because of lack of data, it's one explanation of many. For me this specific wording means the complete opposite. No mention of scars. This is a significant difference. It's still a fabric, It can catch a sword, but two or three at the same time? It has huge limitations. It isn't a perfect protection.
  22. I've missed that. It was not linked in Hallandren page at all - it should have been. It's a big page.
  23. Not an Edgedancer? He took care of a prostitute in WoK, was chatting friendly with common soldiers, put his Shardhelmet on a boy's head, he jokes, makes friendly comments and befriends anyone, no matter their status. He shut himself in a prison cell to accompany Kaladin!!! He attends bar parties and weddings in the Tower, he takes care of Gallant, he takes care of Maya in OB and RoW, treating her like a wounded soldier and as a friend. He is the embodiment of Edgedancer's ideals. He remembers, listens and cares. True, he might fit Stonewards too, a person can fit multiple orders at once. But I doubt he would attract a spren already - or at least I don't want him to become Radiant. No. This also means thoughts and internal comments. RoW ch 21: Oaths are about YOU. I will stand fast, I won't back down, I will hold my ground. "I" is the vital component of your Oaths. Except for the First Ideal and Lightweavers, there is no Oath that wasn't spoken in the first person: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Knights_Radiant/Immortal_Words No. Spren don't accept Words. Stormfather and Cultivation do that. Bond. There is a significant bond forming between Maya and Adolin. He is bringing her back, giving her his strength and even breath. I suspect they are forming a reverse Nahel Bond, where Adolin's soul is the one that fills cracks in Maya's soul, and Maya is the knight, gaining back her mind and body in the process. RoW ch 94: Their nature. Spren, True Spren like Cultuvationspren, are the embodiment of Surges, Progression and Abrasion for Maya. They represent certain ideas and laws of nature, which Ishar formalized in the form of Knights Radiant and Oaths. This combination, of spren being the embodiment of Surges and Ishar's formalization, decided that Cultuvationspren are the Edgedancer spren. The Order of Edgedancers are artificial creation, spren are natural. Orders were made to represent the ideals which spren represent themselves.
  24. Because that's what happens when a sword pierces your body through clothes, you have rips in the same position where wounds are, and this is a more poetic description. For me this is an indication that Vasher fought a lot in his live, so much that he not only has scars, but he doesn't bother with changing his clothes anymore, thus they're ripped in the same places where he was wounded. ??? ch 58: No mention of his scars. His fresh wounds stayed, his scars might have stayed as well, but it's possible that he can easily vanish them in his Returned form, but in his normal form he sees himself as scared from all those fights, thus he has scars. He fought as human, not Returned (at least after Manywar). Possible. I've never seen it that way. Holes for eyes in the hood might bring an object closer to a human form - eyes are very important in Cosmere, they are a reflection of the human soul (especially visible with CR and Vessels). But there is no hole for mouth, or ears - if rips for scars makes Awakening cheaper, holes for mouth and ears would make it even more cheaper. So either eyes matter because of the connection to the human soul and no other "holes" matter, or ALL holes in the body matter and placing them on an Awakened object would make it cheaper - a hole for a mouth would count. Or holes for eyes are there because when he puts on his hood, he looks like Batman
  25. Anti-Voildlight is the "opposite" of Odium's power. However you can't make anti-Odium, because it's like matter-antimatter reaction - investiture would simply annihilate in contact with anti-investiture, and Odium is made out of investiture. Infinite amount of investiture - practically speaking. So you would need to make almost an infinite amount of anti-Voidlight to annihilate Odium, and it would fully destroy it, releasing huge amounts of energy in the process. You wouldn't be able to make anti-Odium, even if you turn whole of Odium into anti-investiture, because Odium's investiture is in the Spiritual Realm, anti-investiture there would annihilate interacting with investiture of other Shards (anti-Voidlight still can interact with other Shard's investiture). Just like Raboniel said in RoW, you would never be able to make enough anti-Voidlight to threaten Odium. That's not anti-investiture, but this is feasible. YOu would however need a huge amount of another Shard's investiture, a significant portion of it, to corrupt Odium, changing it to some other Shard, dual-Shard.
