  1. Have to admit I giggled a little at the typo, though!
  2. Major props to OP for literally making me LOL and then following through with some serious arguments for what a Cosmere Claus might be powered by.
  3. I find your Shadesmar theory interesting — I expect perhaps it will change as perceptions do. Will be fun to see how that plays out if it’s the case. As to space flight, I’ll let others more knowledgeable than I weigh in but would suggest reading Sixth of the Dusk if you haven’t already. There are some big clues in there. Keep an eye out for The Ones Above mentioned in that novella!
  4. Anyone wanna weigh in on the title choice? I’m a bit bummed we’re not getting a ketek of title acronyms — but then someone pointed out there’s 5 more books coming after WaT. Seems like a lot of books with W’s in them… thoughts?
  5. I saw someone once refer to Devotion and Dominion merging as the Cult shard. Doubt that’s what it’d be called but suits the intent well imo
  6. Mister Kaladin, sir, Say an Oath or two or three, Just don’t break one, or I’ll go POW! You ain’t never had a spren like me…
  7. I was lucky enough to get to hear Brandon read the Prelude at a signing for WoK. There’s no way Szeth’s (or really any other character’s) viewpoint could have hypnotized me the way this piece did. It told me at once that I was in for an EPIC ride, and that I would 1) have plenty to read and look forward to for the rest of my life, and 2) would absolutely read it all. I get that it’s a bit thick for newbies, but having already made it through Mistborn (and not to mention having spent years —decades— reading Wheel of Time), the Prelude got me invested in a way an action scene never could have.
  8. Think I’d join up with the Aviar or the Larkin. Sick of human politics that’s why I read the books
  9. Threnody. If you wanna go “Jumanji”, it’s gonna need to be a terrifying place with no easy way out!
  10. I’m over here chuckling about aluminum foil hats. Feels like something Hoid would go around telling people to do.
  11. Okay so just found some other posts on the topic (of course after I had posted here, despite having looked before). I *really* like the idea that since investiture can gain sentience when there’s enough of it around for long enough, that Ado started as a force but become a sentient being after some time. Helps explain how they could exist before creation.
  12. I’ve wondered about whether Adonalsium is a metal for some time. Also wonder if there is a Vessel/Super-Shard relationship going on. Thinking it may be that the sixteen just didn’t like the person/being who was the Vessel. Perhaps some wanted power but for others it was a necessary evil to get rid of a ruler they didn’t like. I feel like I remember Hoid saying something to that effect but can’t recall where the quote is (definitely Stormlight, maybe OB or ROW?). Would love to see this thread get going again. To me, it’s the mystery at the heart of everything Cosmere.
  13. Guess I’m the only Willshaper of the bunch? 78% with Windrunner a distant 62%. Seems about right! Thanks for sharing this
  14. This rabbit hole got deep and is a bit rusty, but I was just searching for a BAM and bondsmith theory and this makes sense, at least in part. if Honor, Cultivation, and their offspring can form Bondsmiths, Odium must as well. BAM is an excellent candidate for the spren of this Connection. Hadn’t thought about El losing their title perhaps due to their belief in humans, but I appreciate those thoughts too. It’s all gonna make for an interesting reveal!
