[OB] I think... Crazy and probably wrong...
Storyspren replied to IllNsickly's topic in Stormlight Archive
Not only I agree, but I feel this almost certainly what we are supposed to believe at this point. The recreance is the human version of the parshendi severing. At the very least we’re supposed to think the events are the same sort of thing and for potentially similar reasons. Regarding the timeline issue Yata raises: We’ve only seen one, maybe two orders I believe, give up their blades in dalinar’s vision. Neither were bondsmith. Assuming a bondsmith freed the parshmen from the “gods,” they could have hung around a while before doing it. Plus just because everybody says they are participating in whatever the recreance was, doesn’t mean they actually did. Maybe one person or even a whole order opted out of losing their amazing cosmic powers. -
The joy of reading something I’m guaranteed to like but haven’t read before. The greater joy of finding out my theories were wrong and for awesome reasons. The even greater joy of rereading the corpus in light of new clues. And also: jasnah and shallan’s reunion Parshmen/parshendi developments... will any wind up free of mind and body? Even Rlain? vivenna Adolin’s murder plot

[OB] A Theory on Odium's champion
Storyspren replied to Staphylococcus's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Aimians are not necessarily good. Destroying them might not be so bad as to destroy Dalinar’s redemption arc. We just don’t know much about them yet. Odium’s champion might try to save the Aimians. After all, Axies(? Guy who searches for eg beer/drunk Spren) tells the crazy guy with the miniature city that he is a voidbringer pretty casually. Also the back of the book Aimians disagree with the edge dancer one about the importance of Lift, which leads me to think even they don’t know everything.- 34 replies

Crazy idea here: it would be kind of neat if shard plate was to radiant as shard blade is to spren such that the radiant’s plate is part of them but current plate used by others is sort of like half dead skin in a Petri dish. So every person currently wearing shardplate is basically doing what Kayla’s in did with the carapace armor but without knowing it.

My take on this is that Kelsier has been spreading some truth around Scadrial ever since he resurrected and probably before that if you count talking to Spook.

I'm so suspicious of the stormfather possibly not being on the same side as syl and pattern. (Assuming they are on the same side, which I'm not convinced of either). We will all have to build a convalescent home near wherever Brandon lives and as fans acquire terminal illnesses or otherwise near end of life, they can go live there for ease of pleading and deathbed charity information sharing. Obviously there will have to be a staff of not only doctors and nurses, but a military style internet police dedicated to making sure there are no unauthorized info leaks.

[OB] Warbreaker Whispering Answered in Oathbringer?
Storyspren replied to Storyspren's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thanks. I should have searched before posting. I'm a bad Spren! -
I agree. She/it sounds like a lightweaver or one of their spren gone horribly wrong. And her name almost looks like "reshaper" which is so similar to transformer (the other lightweaver surge). Shallan 's unconscious drawings (if that really is what those new ones are) are not too dissimilar to the midnight essence that the "reshaper" puts out either. The only thing clear is that there is a deep connection between lightweavers and "reshaper." Sorry for typos. Baby in one area. Sleeping. Which reminds me, is there a "put baby to sleep" power in the cosmere? Because I think I don't want to be gold-gold twin born anymore if there is. Maybe duralamin fueled soothing?
-
I live in the constant hope that we will get an explanation for how Vasher erased that kidnapped girl's memory (or had her suffer no ill effects etc.) in Oathbringer. Transformation surge analogue? Something like lifeless commands but on a living person? But so little Vasher so far... Should I just give up hope for the next decade on that question?

[OB] I made a detailed Stormlight timeline! (Oathbringer version)
Storyspren replied to Jofwu's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thank you. Very useful and thorough. -
Metaspren: attracted to people having meta conversations about the conversation they were just having before someone went meta.

Unclear. He had spear savant moments before he could talk to her.

I like it. Renarin supplied the vision of Adolin whole and Adolin healed himself. Kaladin didn't realize he was healing or affecting the arrows' path for a long while after he did it. The vision might have come from one source e.g. Renarin while the healing came from another. He's so rich he probably has glowing gems stapled to his eyelashes.

[OB] Adolin didn't kill Sadeus -For completeness
Storyspren replied to Storyspren's topic in Stormlight Archive
For arguments' sake, perhaps they both really face the same enemy. (Humans and parshendi) The Parshmen did give up sentience to escape their gods after all. They gave up the forms of power just like the knight radiant gave up their shards (or at least two orders gave up their powers... They were the first and also the last etc.) Not sure it would have taken much to push Adolin over the edge there. Some men need killing I think he thought. Quite similar to a thought Kelsier... (Or was it Vin) had in mistborn one while both were slightly under ruins sway. (Vin more clearly than Kelsier obviously.) and Adolin is both in the grips (possibly) of PTSD and a plot involving awakening his shard blade. Ripe for pushing around. -
Every crazy theory has been advanced regarding the copycat murder. Almost. I'm sure someone has already said this, but I add it for the sake of completeness. There is no copycat. An external agent wielded Adolin and the supposed copycat as a weapon and against their will. This external agent is the one true murderer. On this theory I put the top guess of who that agent is as the stormfather. He wielded shallon like photoshop to make that map after all. OK. Just wanted to make sure this theory was on the record. Not really advocating it.

I guess we will have to wait to RAFO. Sorrow. Clenched fists. Wailing.
-
There's no chance she's really dead. She's the most alive dead person we've never met.
-
Totally out of left field here but two independent crazy thoughts I've had about Sadeas's death. 1) maybe this event will be a trigger for reviving Adolin's shardblade. And what would that mean? 2) maybe Adolin was momentarily being controlled by something or someone?
-
See now. In my mind, it's more like the time a dog bit me when I smacked it when I was three. The dog couldn't think right then. It didn't surrender to instinct. Instinct had taken control of it totally. I do see that as less wrong.
-
How about some sympathy for Adolin? Forced to work with Sadeas who literally tried to kill him? With Sadeas, who unmines Adolin and his family at every possible opportunity like a gaslighting abusive spouse? Temporarily Adolin last his damnation mind. I wouldn't call it murder, more like an act of nature. There's no therapy on Roshar, alas.
