  1. What about Justice? That trait is tied to Honor, but it isn't exactly the same. But when you mentioned Grace/Forgiveness it made me think of a Mercy Shard, and you hear the terms justice and mercy used pretty frequency when describing God's attributes.
  2. The only thing I'm certain is a Voidbringer is poor ole Wyndle.
  3. @Rasarr I also liked White Sand a good bit, especially considering the draft hasn't been edited since like 1999 if I recall. The story isn't even polished very much, but I was still entertained by it. The dialog in the official release isn't very good though, so I could see why that one is rated lower by most people.
  4. I read the novella for the first time in AU not long ago, and I remember thinking that the soulstones reminded me of the Southerners' medallions in Mistborn. I don't think it's the exact same material, but I did feel like they were similar to one another. You can wear a medallion to gain power temporarily as long as you're wearing it, and with soulstone you see something similar when Shai turns into her warrior self at the end of the novella.
  5. The other reference to stone in the series I can think of is the Stonewards KR order that Taln (Stonesinew) was the head of. The odd part is that Taln was the Herald of War and the Shin go completely against violence. After reading your theory it made me wonder if their worship of stone began as an ode to Taln for his sacrifice to "stop" the Desolations. But I'm not sure if the Shin even knew about what happened to Taln in the first place.
  6. I remember picking up on that reference and thinking it was the same cobbler from one of the interludes. Hadn't thought about the difference between KR orders though.
  7. Windrunner would be the coolest (you get to freakin' fly), but I feel like the most practical is being an Elsecaller. The Transportation surge would just be so handy to have. Cuts down on travel costs lol.
  8. And here I thought I was done with calculus after I graduated.

    Hoid

I've been wondering if Hoid is successful in gaining access to each magic system if he could somehow combine all of the different types of Investiture to form a "mini-Adonalsium" so to speak within himself. Not sure if something like that is even possible or if the Investiture would be powerful enough to really do anything significant, but it's something I've been wondering about.
  10. I thought of a more realistic question tonight than the IHOP one...lol. I wonder what would be the potential advantages of a Forger having the power of a Mistborn, specifically the ability to use Malatium to see past alternatives of others. I wonder if this could give a Forger a better ability to create Soulstamps for others and grant people alternative identities that are in some way connected to their real identity.
  11. I think I'll get to read this book before I get to read another Rothfuss book.
  12. The whole thing reminds me of the prequels when Yoda thinks they misread the prophecy of Anakin being the one who was supposed to bring balance to the Force. It makes the viewer believe the prophecy was misread because the one to do this would actually be Luke. But other people theorize that Anakin really did bring balance to the Force, and the misreading of the prophecy was referring to the Jedi not understanding that the balance could only come by eliminating both the Jedi and the Sith, not just the Sith. The prequels (as flawed as they are) do a good job of showing that the Jedi are an arrogant order in their own right. The Jedi still believed it was okay to use the power of the Force as long as it benefitted them. Liked the part in the trailer around 0:47 where you can faintly hear "help me Obiwan." Getting pretty excited about this one.
  13. I liked Warbreaker because I felt like it was a little unique for Sanderson in that the magic system wasn't really the focal point compared to Allomancy in Mistborn and Stormlight in SA. I know it goes into Breath and Awakening, but that whole system is more of an aside to the political spectrum that dominates the book. Elantris wasn't really exciting until the last 3rd of the book. The main magic system is broken for nearly the entire book, so you never really end up getting a grasp of how powerful Elantrian magic can really be.
  14. Theoretically speaking, how long could Lift wield Nightblood in an IHOP on all you can eat pancake day?
  15. Probably Elantris. I agree with @Iron Eyes that WoA is probably my least favorite Mistborn book. The whole Zane plot line gets on my nerves a bit.
  16. Thanks, guys! Will be interesting to see how the weapon impacts Roshar now.
  17. I just finished reading Warbreaker last night, and I remembered Nightblood was the weapon Szeth gets at the end of WoR. I've tried searching around but haven't ran across this yet so I figured I'd ask here. Can Szeth power Nightblood with Stormlight the same way Vasher powered the sword using Breath? I know both Stormlight and Breath are forms of Investiture, so it seems like they could work similarly to power the sword (unless if Nightblood can only be powered by the Investiture native to Nalthis?). What I'm trying to work through in my head is if Szeth will experience intense pain in his arm while wielding Nightblood similar to what Vasher felt when the sword was unsheathed. I assume Szeth would have to keep the weapon sheathed most of the time like Vasher did, but I didn't know if the sword would actually drain Szeth's Stormlight while he was using it or not.
  18. You can get it by signing up for his newsletter now (if you haven't already signed up for it, you'll get a link to download it in the welcome newsletter). If you've already signed up for that, try the methods above.
  19. Says the guy who is witless.
  20. I feel like Brandon addressed this on a Reddit post once that the problem right now with anime is that it's a niche market. If you aren't a fan of anime already, you won't watch a Mistborn anime (talking about gaining casual fans, not big fans of Brandon's work like you see on this site). Mistborn will gain viewers at a theater simply because it's an action film. I'm not a huge movie fan personally, and I never got into the Marvel/DC stuff, but I still saw Dr. Strange because the previews for it looked amazing. You can draw a lot of casual and new fans into a Mistborn film by showing action packed previews, and I think it'd help if they got a fairly well known actor to play Kelsier. The movie format works better for Mistborn than any of Brandon's other books imo.
  21. I agree. I feel like the title is meant to make people think it's Atium, and he'll throw some curveball because that's what Brandon does lol.
  22. I need to find the book when I get home to find the exact line, but if I remember right, the wording was basically Wax understanding that he was climbing the walls to the Pits of Hathsin. I think it was referring to the geographical cavern without the geodes since those are all gone. I think the location of the Pits is still around, there just isn't any Atium production.
  23. The thing with Atium returning though is that it's a "useless" metal if Mistborn aren't around to burn it. Sure, you can have an Atium misting, but I'm not sure how common those really are outside of how Preservation affected the snapping (the whole 1/16 thing) process to allow for an army of Atium mistings. Edit: I'm also slightly confused on why The Pits don't exist anymore. There's a specific occurrence in SoS (I think) where Wax is physically climbing the Pits of Hathsin around the time he meets TenSoon. If the Pits are no more, what did that reference to Wax being in the Pits of Hathsin mean?
  24. What if The Lost Metal just turns out to be Wayne misplacing his gold-plated watch?
