@bdoble97 It's Vivenna.

I've sometimes wondered if he asked for Navani to fall in love with him and was cursed with forgetting his former wife. That's part of why he's so hesitant to accept her advances after Gavilar was killed. He's feeling the guilt about what he asked for, especially after his brother was killed.

@Did Someone Say Kill Evil? You can use the masculine plural when there's a mix of male and female...grammatically speaking.

I like the first book better overall. Words of Radiance has a larger scope, but I think the main story in The Way of Kings with Kaladin and Bridge Four has the best payoff/ending. Love both books though, it's really splitting hairs to choose one over the other.

I didn't see that Dueling Peaks one until towards the end too. I started riding around on horseback with my Shrine sensor on and couldn't believe I had never seen that one lol. I looked up the last 4 I needed. Got tired of looking around for hours and not finding anything. Two of the ones I needed were hidden underground so they didn't show up even when the sensor was on. Another one was under one of those large rock plates you can only move by hitting it while in stasis. And the last one was on a hill by Hyrule Castle that I couldn't believe I never climbed lol.

I picked the second option. I spent about 3 weeks per book on the first two. I don't enjoy reading hundreds of pages in one sitting too much even if I like the book.

I still think the whole book is about Wayne losing his gold pocket watch, but I haven't gained much support on that theory.

Raoden holds the dual shard of Benevolence
Andy92 replied to Brightlord M. Alhstrom's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I assumed he experienced those moments of pain because he attempted to draw Aons more than anyone else, but I do like the theory overall. -
Can you make a Hemulurgic spike out of pancakes?

@Dunkum I felt the same way about it honestly. I mainly got the DLC when the first pack came out because I don't have any other games for the Switch at the moment. It's also kinda nice being able to use the master sword fully charged at level 60 at all times now. I'd probably wait until we know more about the second part of the DLC before buying it if you're on the fence about it. The Trial of the Sword is pretty fun (and decently challenging imo), but it's also short once you're able to beat it. The most useful thing this first pack added was the Korok mask that shakes when you're near one. I found 10 seeds in about 15 minutes using it tonight.

I just finished the Trial of the Sword and that last phase of challenges is a real pain in the tail lol.

I've been reading The Dark Tower recently and bought the first Wheel of Time book a couple weeks ago too. Those series will keep me busy until November. I might re-read the first two SA books before November, but I haven't decided on that yet. I just read them both for the first time this past November/December, so they're still fairly fresh in my mind.

Same here. I was sitting around 90-100 for a while and forgot you could turn on the ping sensor to let you know when you got close to one lol. I turned it off early in the game because it kept beeping all the time when I hardly had any shrines. Forgot all about using it until recently lol.

Is that...is that the font they use on the slides on SpongeBob?

The intent of the Vessel plays a key role in this theory. I don't think the Shards themselves are necessarily evil, but the Vessels that took them up can influence the nature of the Shards with evil tendencies. Brandon has said before that the big question surrounding the Cosmere is "how would normal people respond to being given the power of gods?" The evil nature within people would mostly cause us to screw up. You see some Vessels like Rayse exemplify this because he was an evil person (presumably) taking up the Shard of hate. Then you have Sazed taking up two Shards, but he's still not perfect even though he was generally a good person. It reminds me of Zelda if you've ever played those games. Ganondorf isn't evil because he took the Triforce of Power. He's evil because he took that piece with the intent to rule the world by force. He could have easily desired for the power to heal sicknesses or prevent famines or something equally as noble. I view the Shards similarly. It's not that the traits the Shards represent are inherently evil, it's that the Vessels' intents can be. I know I'm kind of rehashing some of what was said above, but I don't think your theory is too far off the mark. I just think the amoral nature you're talking about comes more from what the Vessels decided to do with their powers, not the powers themselves.

Is Hoid aware that he's a character in a book? (Probably)
Andy92 replied to Luck Spren's topic in Stormlight Archive
The character we know as Hoid didn't always have that name. That was the name of his former master, and the character we see in the books took that name for himself. I believe that's what the exchange with Kaladin is subtlety referring to. -
Dragonsteel and other unpublished works?
Andy92 replied to Brightlord M. Alhstrom's question in Cosmere Q&A
Just to add to what @Calderis said, we know the Shattered Plains was originally written as a part of Dragonsteel, and Brandon moved it over to Stormlight Archive. While it would be an interesting read, it probably wouldn't be the most accurate towards the current Cosmere canon because he's cherry picked certain aspects of the original book and moved it into other words. As far as other unreleased works, there is a draft of the White Sand novel version you can get by signing up for Brandon's newsletter. (The graphic novel is the canonical version, but it's being released in 3 parts. The unreleased novel tells the whole story.) There's another one called Aether of the Night that I haven't read personally. I think you can ask for that one through the contact link on Sanderson's website. -
I think I've read somewhere that the amount of Investiture someone consumes when they ascend is too much for a mortal body to handle, so the physical side kind of merges into the spiritual aspect of the Investiture. It may be possible for a Shardholder to manifest themselves in a physical body in some way, but I'm not sure if it's been done in the books.

Elhokar and Aesudan's son will grow up to become Odium's champion. Well that probably isn't very fun now that I think about it.
-
Have you ever read The Name of the Wind? The main character in that book is a musician, and it's a huge part of his character. I like reading books with characters who also play music.
-
I tend to think a lot of Kaladin's fighting shows him demonstrating great reflexes and just a natural ability with a spear. I don't think he actually catches glimpses of the near future unless if there is a passage that states something along those lines.

I am going to sum up your main question rather simply. RAFO!

It'll probably end like Dr. Strange did.

@The One Who Connects Yeah, I'll give you that it's probably a little too blunt/spoon-fed to do it that way. I was more or less thinking that you could introduce rioting/soothing early in the movie with a scene like that. That way, when it appears later on, the audience has that "oh I get what they're doing" mindset. Most of my favorite movies have musical scores that connect well with the story the movie is trying to tell, so it's something I tend to think about when I see these threads. I think music is the best way to really make Allomancy work on the big screen.
