Southern "medallions" seen in Bands of Mourning
Itchy Savant replied to robardin's topic in Mistborn
Yeah but if the incisors are hemalurgic spikes and that's how they are making the medallions you would think they would have access to allomantic spikes as well -

There is always another secret. I suspect exactly what is going on with the south is something we haven't seen yet -

I think the fact that allik recognizes Wax as metalborn due to him flying around the room using allomancy a d the fact that the ettmetal grenades are used alongside allomancy means that they do have allomancers and are familiar with coinshots. A lot of the crew died before Wax and Co rescued allik. Safe to assume the crew would have included relalvent metalborn on their jourey -
Human: "I am Human". For Vin you should totally take an excerpt from Harmony's "eulogy" for her. Don't have my book atm so I can't find it for you :/

@page runner there actually is a way to get your body to run with out the 8 hours of sleep a day, it takes about 3 to 4 months to get used to it. I believe it was a 30 minute nap every 3 hours or something like that, and after long enough your brain learns to go right to the REM stage almost instantly so you end up getting more sleep overall. It's the getting there part that wrecks your body. I'll see if I can find the source for it. Over all we haven't seen enough of F!Bronze to know exactly how it works and I an sure there are ways to abuse it. Compounding is the most effective IMO @Ferumancer that's a good call, never thought about that. I wonder if F!Zinc's mental speed boost helps keep you awake on a biological level, because then you could spend a couple days out of the week storing both, then have 4 or 5 days of almost full wakefulness and productivity

theory identity of Trell and Senna wonderings(secret history spoilers)
Itchy Savant replied to Kolfire's topic in Mistborn
@nervousnerd my personal fan theory is that Kell is holding on to it for him. He held the power of preservation and now is holding a little bit of ruin, making him a little harmony with out as much restrictions. Plus it is stated multiple times that he was more connected to ruin. -
Can you store attribtes while drawing on others? I know sazed stores a lot at once but he wasn't drawing on anything at the same time
-
For all the Evil TLR did he defintly could have been way worse. But that I'd a topic for another day and I agree, I feel hemalurgy is going to be a huge factor moving forward in the cosmere

I too and crossing my fingers for cyberpunk magic, and I think he is going to building up to something similar to TFE, but more dystopian. And on the souls in ships, I was thinking exactly what @kenod said.

But the spear head has limited use, is it not? Or can it just be freely charged? The end of BoM seems to lean towards limited use. And yeah I was figuring that we were looking towards era 3 and I was under the assumption that ettmetak would be more common. And @kenod that is exactly what I am envisioning. If ettmetal can use feruchemy as well as allomancy it should theoretically be usable with hemalurgy. Hemalurgy at its base is transferring prices of souls. I like to imagine it would require multiple spikes for something as large as a space going ship, which leads to even more interesting debates about what it is to be about live abound have a soul. Would the ship be a mash up? Completely separate parts stiched up or would they merge into one unique soul?

I started that post forgetting about the medallions and ended remembering them lmao Medallions are probably a lot harder to make, especially if they require hemalurgy to produce, which brings in the whole morality of hemalurgy. I feel the grenades are an easier more moral method.

Pewter "grenades" set up around construction sites and jobs requiring physical labour would possibly have huge implications for the workforce. Same goes with mental speed (F zinc? ) in areas whee scholars and engineers areally doing their thing. Could ettmetal somehow be used to project nicrosil ferechemy like the medallions but on a larger scale?

@Oversleep I have nothing to base this off of but I havehave aways felt hemalurgy is going to play apart in the tech as well as harmonium. On that note I feel a lot of the metalic arts (especially the more recent ones unknown of during the TLR's time) are very misunderstood and have a myriad of effects. Such as Nicrosil being used to overclock a PC. Why couldn't scadrians develop a computer that used pushing/pulling intervals instead of the 0's and 1s of binary code? I am not expert in computers but I am fairly positive we will see computers advance to be operated only with technology metalic arts. That being said I have no proof or knowledge so take it as you will I like the idea of a sentient machines compounding steel for space travel, and that is perhaps how I view hemalurgy playing a role, providing the base "spirit" for a machine to allow the sentience. Time grenade are a cool non lethal crowd control weapon, I really dig that. I can also see the emotional arts used in conjucture with the cubes as both riot control (or creation if that is your goal) as well as in a dystopian future set up (kind of like what TLR did with the stations, just minus the constant man power) Cadmium could also be used for speed traps? Set up on popular strips of roadway, and only set to trigger when a car races by past what ever limit was set, freeze them in time until an officer can come give you a ticket

A Nicrosil for faster computers. I believe Sanderson has said that era 3''s main is a nicroburst code monkey and that's all I can think about. Her essential over clocking (but also burning out) a computer for extra power when needed. Hospital wards with F Gold to aid people's healing. Might also help either spreading dosease/infection habing entire wards made of ettmetal chaged with the F Gold

A friend is reading Mistborn for the first time...
Itchy Savant replied to Megadraco's topic in General Brandon Discussion
He needs to be a part of Sandersons Alpha reader team -
Perhaps something to do with the Ishar forcing the rules and regulations on them? I know a lot of people say it was just the orders and the oaths that he implemented to guide the use of surge binding but perhaps something else was forced as well? Some spiritual change all Nahel bonds cause that makes them naturally group up? SO that no one has to learn "alone" Also Lift seems to be the outlying piece of datum here but her unique situation could be why

New character in Edgedancer [Edgedancer Spoilers]
Itchy Savant replied to WeeDunadan's topic in Stormlight Archive
@ccstat But would lift not see something funky about the cremlings/ Arclo? I really like the theory but I feel that our little Radiant would have noticed more about the Cremlings than just the area variance? Crazy Side theory, The Larkins are the brain of the sleepless, who fled to Great shells to survive the Scouring. Nale has one captive and is using it as a tool. Which means our favorite merchant girl is going to become an insect hive mind. -
Yeah that theory of mine started before we knew about ettmetal. My gut is still telling me that hemalurgy will still be key in their advanced tech. Also random thought here and I could be wrong, but isn't FTL travel actually time travel? I'm wondering if that's what Sanderson meant, comers exploration would only require travel at light speed, not faster than it.

My bad, I thought I recalled something about the third bondsmith not having anything to do with Odium and instead having something do in the larger cosmere. Must have made it up.

Brandon has said that the third bondsmith bonds another shard that isn't tied to roshar hasn't he? Endowment seems like a good fit due to all the cross over and the spren "endowing" people with crazy powers. Perhaps the unification has already begun. On second thought i think he has said that the third bondsmith is usually a worldhopper and his bond doesnt have to do with the Roshar shards or something like that. I can't look for the WoB right now but hopefully someone has it

horneaters Origin of an Origin Story
Itchy Savant replied to Krandacth's topic in Stormlight Archive
Since it happened so long ago, the horneater dna is probably very different so I doubt the transformations are possible (or easy anyways) but if Rock can what does that say about shallan? -
Preservation is left fundamentally weaker than ruin due to his creating human sentience, So someone asked if Harmony was totally balanced and he replied along the lines of harmony is doing something else with the extra ruin. I forgot about that quote with Soon. My bad
-
Is that what Sazed has been doing with the extra ruin? or is that a theory/simple comparison?
