This doesnt change the fact that 90% of plot in the alleyverse happens in the alleycity or within reasonable traveling distance of the alleycity. Inside of the city there is bound to be some form of public transportation that allows people to move around, and most people don’t use Tia Cards to move around within city centered plots. So long as most of the plot happens inside of the city, I don’t think that removing the Tia cards would have an enourmus impact on reducing the complexity. The issue that we are trying to solve is that the RP in the alleycity is enormously complex. It doesn’t matter how we make things simpler, whether by universe splitting or just breaking up the cities, but we need to eventually create different settings that are separated to some degree. My concern with keeping them on the same planet is that people want to keep modern technology. So things like airplanes and helicopters can heavily reduce travel times and can keep everything connected. If we find someway to ensure that that doesn’t happen, we could try to come up with different areas in the alleycontinent/alleyplanet.

The question is, what happens if the alleyverse gets into the space age? We have a lot of different advanced companies around and it’s not inconceivable that they get to rockets soon. Whatever obstruction that we invent shouldn’t be easily bypassed by technology or investiture.

We are also reworking the tagging system right now, so that it would be convenient and actually useful.

Again I will refer to the exploring the other side of the world plot. With that setting, characters don’t transition between the other side of the world plot and the rest of the alleyverse often. Whether it’s because they can’t or they don’t want to, this is the kind of self contained ness that we want to introduce. It’s still feasible for people to move from universe to universe, but it’s not easy. Every new location that starts up will allow people to move in, whether by allowing them to create new characters, or moving existing ones, but people won’t be able to switch a character from location to location over the course of a single meeting. This would hopefully limit the complexity of different plots.

What do you mean?

The issue is that people aren’t stuck over there. It’s the same issue with having things on different the planets. You can easily or quickly move between planets, or other parts of the world, via workshopping. If people can easily move from setting to setting, it all becomes part of one mega super complex plot, which defeats the purpose of having split things up in the first place.

The idea would be that each universe has a lower number of total characters, less concurrent plots, and that would be simpler for more people to join and get invested in a plot. There is a large issue in trying to hold a coherent RP with a ton of characters. It’s not easily accessible for new characters. If you look at the tent thread, the amount of stuff/background that people need to understand is a lot. To understand what’s going on in that plot, a person needs to understand hellbent, who’s character ark and history is humongous, and tens, who is also an old complicated character. Something like the exploring the other side of the world thread, on the other hand, is a whole lot more accessible. There is no background beyond reading the thread, no extensive character arks needed to understand stuff. The idea would be that having a series of unique settings would allow people to jump in, and keep things from being too complicated.

But even those phones wouldn’t work, there is no extensive system of cell towers providing service for phones.

Skill points can’t bleed into power, only power into skill.

Karn was right, it was in addition. That should be fine, depending on what they are obsessive about, is it like they will chase down everyone who pisses them off and beat them up? Or they can't stand to leave lights on in a room.
-
Im not, but I have no idea how to do it. I do have some questions, could you try to liken the powers to cosmere powers? Like what about the enhanced strength from draining blood. Is the enhanced strength pewter levels? The equivalent of 2x a normal persons stregnth? What about reactions? And is gold healing close to the blood healing? Also, thanks bean.

Total. Give me a sec to check the bio. Ok, I checked the Bio, I was wrong. Sorry about that, my notes were off. I thought you had put 10 points of skills in there when you didn't. You don't need as much weakness' as I thought. Without any weapons= 83 (including weaknesses) +25 lighting claws + 8 for lightning bolter = 116 points. You need 16 points of weakness'
-
Sorry, I thought I mentioned it in my review, but I didn't take into account the weapons she had. With the additional point values it would raise them up a little. she would need about 28 points worth of weakness' in order to level things out.

Voidus can answer the second one, but for the first one the math works out to exactly 100. This is a modified quote of voidus' post about the breakdown of the math. Darkhold is good! We will add him to the list. Have you thought about the modified point values for the Lightning bolt gun? What does it do differently? Also, have you thought about additional weakness' for sarah and silva?

Hey so it has come to my attention that we don't really have a set style for what the Alleycity looks like or what its culture and level of technology is. A while ago we voted as a community to make sure that this RP stayed a fantasy one, and not a science fiction one, but we never really figured out what that meant. Some people may like to have modern day technology in the RP, but others may like a more medieval fantasy setting. So I would like to pose a couple of questions to the RP: The first is, what do you think should be considered Science Fiction, and thus absolutely not allowed in the RP? Second, what is the level of technology you think the alleyverse/city should be at? Do you think that up to modern day is fine? Only allowing up to Era 2 Scadrial tech? Is everything in the RP fine so long as it is based off of magic in some way? What are your guys' thoughts? Third, should this be homogeneous for the alleycity and for the entire planet? Should the entire planet have flying cars and cellphones? Or just the tech developers in the cities? If you have any other questions about this that you wan't clarified, please ask them here.

Because they merged the accounts. My guess is that it merged his old account to the new one, causing the name and start date to belong to the new one. All the content posted by the old account was reassigned to this new account.
