Secret project
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Willshaping Crasher's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I think that because he can't talk about it because of contractual reasons solidifies the case for it being part of the Magic the Gathering story. Wheel of Time is less possible. -
Long Game 46: A Land War in Asia
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Steeldancer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I would like to congratulate the Guards, especially Mr. Doctor. He played amazingly, and was quite the convincing villager. The first thing I did when i got to the dead doc was determine who the remaining Elims were, and I could not stop myself from applauding. I did not suspect any of you (except perhaps Walin). If I had looked closer, I might have been able to see the chinks in your armor, but alas, I did not. This was a wonderful game, Steel! Very fun, great writeups, and perfect theme.- 862 replies

@Drake Marshall this is mostly targeted towards you, since Pariah is your character.
-
I can't exactly speak for Drake, but I assume that becoming a statue creates a stasis-like condition in which bodily processes are slowed to nearly a complete stop, meaning she is virtually immortal.

Pariah's abilities:

@Comatose @Edgedancer this is Pariah's backstory (she is one of Drake's characters):
-
@Comatose I was actually planning to RP Chrysalis, but he would only come into the story later, once things in Edmonton have shaken up enough to warrant his attention. I’m also totally fine with making him female, if we need to. It doesn’t really matter to me.
-
@Comatose, a few suggestions to fill in the blanks in your summary: Lead Epic of Calgary: Chrysalis Primary: Enhanced physical strength and endurance, allowing the proportional strength of a horned beetle (approx. 1000 times his own body weight) Secondary: can grow thick carapace from his body, impervious to nearly all weaponry, including gunfire, fire, hard light, and all but the most powerful energy weapons. The carapace appears red and black, with green accents. Tertiary: Can gift these abilities to minions, up to about 1000 (His "Swarm") Quandary: Directs a hive mind over these minions, and can direct their actions en mass. Note: cannot specifically control one minion. Chrysalis is usually covered in his carapace, and is remaking Calgary into his Hive. Employs several insect-themed Epics. @Drake Marshall Possible name for Epoch's faction: EON. Dead Epic, former Edmonton faction leader: Doubletake Basic bio: Precog PI, can make false doubles of herself, super reflexes. She preferred to take on her targets personally, and usually killed them easily. Incredibly difficult to take down, because she needs to be checkmated, but the secret leaked out that it was possible to dissipate her doubles using strobe lights. During an intense duel with another neighboring Epic, which she mortally wounded, she was checkmated and thrown from a building. Doubletake's faction: Most feared not because of Doubletake's strength, but because of their reach. Her agents had surveillance in nearly every corner of the city, maintained by a cadre of minor Epic's under her command. They became quite wealthy by demanding tribute from landowners and weaker Epics in return for "protection." Those that didn't keep up their payments, or openly opposed Doubletake, would disappear.

Could the map of Edmonton be posted in the Maple Pug Treats thread?

Guess That Cosmere Character! Forum Edition!

Gonna go out on a limb and say Sixth of Dusk? -
I don't see any problem with getting it going, because we want it to be ready by the time Edmonton midnight rolls around. Are we hoping to have it start this midnight?
-
“Beginning it”? Do you mean begin it? I’m very confused by your phrasing.
-
Just wondering how many of you guys are mormon
Hemalurgic Headshot replied to Adolin Kholin's topic in General Discussion
Yes, Brandon is Mormon. Though he is not a Mormon celebrity, per say, he is popular. -
If we are to time this appropriately, I think it should be Edmonton time midnight.
-
Well, whenever Comatose is ready, I guess we can start. I'm quite excited about this, honestly. But who isn't?
-
Winter devotion will also be out for a while, IIRC.
-
I think now that we have a good foundation of characters, all we have to do is establish a little bit more of the map and start the RP. Welcome to July.
-
The Moose will need to check out the Fence. You know, that might even be his assignment...
-
It's no problem. Really, I'm not planning for the Circle of the Shield or Margaret to become particularly involved in Edmonton or get any screen-time aside from a flashback or something of that sort, so the particulars of what Margaret can or cannot do wasn't paramount.
-
Ack. I did not realize that. That is quite a mistake on my part. Now knowing this, and realizing that Margaret would probably not be able to accomplish this with that sort of background, I'm going to scrap Margaret's whole backstory regarding her ability to create Motivators, including Liam's magic radio. I had a brilliant scene in my mind where Liam would crash into the scene in his van, blasting Elvis from the record player and disabling all of the Epics, but alas, it cannot be. However, I will still have Circle of the Shield agents' mission be to collect Epic samples for study, and for Margaret still to be fascinated by Epic powers.
-
I just realized that if someone is planning on doing an illusion Epic, could it please be the one that Liam the Moose accidentally saved with his van? I would love to see them reunite, and see their reactions when they recognize each other. Edit: I've added this to Liam's bio Dispersophone: This device is a piece of Epic tech created by Margaret using a sample from Sentinel. Outwardly, it looks like a record player hooked up to a large speaker. When played, Epic powers within 30ft (excluding passive abilities) of the device are disabled, and residual effects from Epic abilities (such as time barriers, force fields, mists, etc) are removed within this radius. Epics within earshot find that their abilities are weakened.

@Drake Marshall did you realize that Quietus is the name of a character from the webcomic Folklore? It’s a good comic, about fallen superheroes in a dystopia (sounds familiar...).
-
@MacThorstenson In regards to Creator's weakness, how are his powers affected when he is wrong. If he happened to assume someone's name after hearing it in passing mention, but incorrectly, and said person corrected him, how would this affect Creator's powers?
-
I this a lot more, because if someone could pull off an amazing bluff, it could technically work.
