  1. Okay, I can’t sleep right now because one of my suitemates has friends over and they’re being loud so I may as well respond to this. I hadn’t even thought of it this way. The Spy is important, but mistakes like this are the exact kinds that elims make. We shouldn’t be trying to ignore these mistakes in order to keep the Spy hidden. Little slip ups are one of the best ways to catch elims, and if we don’t act on them, we’re giving the elims a safety net if they mess up. And the elims get the added bonus of being able to notice which villagers are slipping up so they can find the Spy themselves. My suspicion of Tess has significantly increased now that El put my gut feelings into words. My vote’s staying on them.
  2. I am not usually very creative when I'm tired. Plus, I have a midterm tomorrow. If I wake up and I'm not dead tomorrow, I'll post more RP during my lunch break. I'm glad you're glad I did it! Not glad that it didn't make you less suspicious.
  3. Yeah, that's fair. I mean, "pretty weird" and "slightly suspicious" are basically the same thing. Tomato tomato, right? Also, why'd you have to ask about Roashina's past? I know basically nothing about his background. Also, we should definitely get more people's thoughts on the lynch. I kinda wanna go to sleep soon, and I won't be able to get on again until after rollover. I don't really wanna die, but I don't find Rath very suspicious, and the only other person I get even a weird feeling from is Tess. I'd very much appreciate if we could either decide to lynch Rath or someone that is not me.
  4. Yeah, sorry, I was trying to eat while I typed, and I figured I should respond to the analysis first. Or I just assumed there would be three elims because this is a pretty small game and four elims is too much to me, unless there's at least 16 players? And then I did the math to prove my point when I had time? Like, I didn't go through all that thought process when I wrote my first post, I just generally make the assumption of 3 elims if the amount of players is between 12-15. I definitely hadn't thought about the whole EO part of it until a later post too. I'm not really sure what you mean by this. Could you clarify? I kinda trust Elb for voting on me, ironically. I'll admit, the way I've been posting has been pretty weird. I think it'd be a fairly village move to call me out for being weird. I'd probably do the same if I noticed someone else doing it. Personally, I don't find that all that suspicious. Like I've mentioned before, I think an elim would be careful enough with their words to notice if they were implying that the elims were all roleless. ~ "Well, I'm sorry that you got dragged into all of this. Here, let's sit down for a bit so you can calm your nerves." He gently pulled her over to a nearby table and sat her down there. If she wants to act like the clueless secretary, Roashina thought, I guess I'll treat her like one for now. He sat down across from her, motioning to a nearby server to bring them drinks. The man hesitated, but a sharp look through Roashina's mask made him comply. Even though there were murders going on, Roashina still expect quality service from the Frozen Moon. "So," he asked her, "what kind of master do you work for that would send a secretary like yourself into what was almost certainly going to be a trap?"
  5. I think the only roles that are locked to an alignment are the Spy, the Handler, and the EO. Also, thanks for saying you think I’m a neutral candidate.
  6. It could definitely be because he’s an elim and therefore knows that the elim team is only roleless. But 1) I think that would be way unbalanced for the elims and 2) I think Rath is experienced enough player to not make a mistake like that. Granted, anyone can make mistakes, even the best of us, so I’ll wait for Rath’s response before I write him off as innocent.
  7. I was trying to say that I disagreed with Tess’s (used to be Rand, right?) idea to get everyone to give their thoughts on what the spy should/shouldn’t do. My original thought process was that it would give the elims an easy way to see how each person claims they would act if they were a spy and work from there. And I meant I was in a rush when I wrote the post where I first responded to Tess. I wasn’t in a rush when I wrote my last post, which is why my thoughts on the number of elims were pretty thought out. I had to go before I finished my last post, or else I would’ve clarified that, if there were 3 elims and the EO converted to elim, that would already put the elim percentage at 28%. If there were 4 original elims, the EO convert would bring it up to 36%, which seems excessive to me.
  8. (Totally didn’t forget that they don’t know each other’s names. ) Roashina so wanted to believe that the woman crying into his shoulders was truly afraid of being killed in this meeting. But he knew that you didn’t spend very long being deathly afraid of death and get invited to a meeting like this one. But they all had a part to play in this game, so he went along with her charades. “Look, the only way I could’ve killed him is if I’d killed him awhile ago and came back to the meeting room while an accomplice set the bag with his body where it was.” He chuckled, hoping to convey how ridiculous that scenario sounded. He gently pushed her shoulders away from him. “I promise that you will be safe, so long as we can figure out who among us has brought us here to kill us all. Simple.” ~ Is it too much of a cop-out to say I was in a rush earlier? Seriously though, I just forgot that other people are much better at finding tells in people’s posts when I made my post responding to Tess. Personally, unless someone was being super obvious about being a spy, I probably wouldn’t be able to tell. I mainly ride on the analysis of other players to spark ideas in my brain, so being able to find it before anyone else wouldn’t be likely. And obviously, the elims (probably ) aren’t stupid and could see the tells themselves. Just thought it might be best to just avoid giving them the chance to analyze for tells all together. I said 3 elims because I figured there’d only be three since there’s at least 1 reform spy, 1 handler, and 1 EO. The EO could be an elim, so that would bring the number of elims up to 4. Would be much higher than the 20/25% rule.
  9. That’s certainly true. Three people are much more likely to be able to figure out who the reform spy is since they have the doc to conspire in. In that case, I’d say that the spy should probably not vote on an elim for at least the first couple cycles or so. Tunneling is a common villager tactic, so someone who tunnels could be a villager. But if someone constantly tunnels on elims and is right...that screams spy to me.
  10. I'll do it. I've been having trouble coming up with a character of my own anyway. ~ Roashina had suspected that there would be a murder at this meeting. He'd even attempted to warn the others, without seeming like he knew too much. Of course, Urskevan hadn't been there to hear his warning. And now that Urskevan was actually dead, Roashina would have to be extra careful. Once Ellira was done with her screaming and questions, he calmly took her shoulders and tried to calm her down. "Look, one man dying means nothing so long as we remain vigilant from here on out. The murderer cannot be too far from here. I suspect that they're someone who was invited to this meeting. If we work carefully, we should be able to figure out who they are before anyone else...has an unfortunate accident." Hopefully that will calm her down, Roashina thought to himself. ~ Personally, I think this is a really bad idea. If we all say what we would do as the spy, then it gives the elims an idea of what to look out for to try and catch the spy. Obviously, whoever the spy is would say that they recommend the spy to do one thing and instead do the opposite themselves. Unless the spy was really ballsy and decided to do the exact thing they said the spy shouldn't. But even then, that's pretty risky. Also, kinda unrelated, but it's gonna get very confusing having to discuss about a role called Striker.
  11. Dang...that’s really unfortunate for me. I’ll be waking up to the results of each cycle I guess.
  12. I actually didn’t get an item from Shane. As for your claim as criminal, I think Fifth makes a pretty good point that, even if you are criminal, your actions have largely been at least not pro-village, even if they weren’t pro-elims. I’d rather lynch you then anyone else. If you’re lying, we catch an elim. If you aren’t, then we get rid of another possible neutral role for elims to hide behind.
  13. ....well, that’s not what I was expecting. For now, I’m gonna trust Aman and vote on Sart. I swear if this is another fake Kandra claim I’m gonna be mad but also really impressed that he pulled one off again. XD
  14. Technically speaking, one of the elims could've had a PM with a villager who told them they were gonna ViaC. But still, I see your point. That's definitely true, and I hadn't thought of that. I'm just so used to assuming neutral=anti-village and anti-elim, I was making that assumption for the neutrals this game. As long as the village doesn't immediately start killing tons of elims this early in the game, I'm pretty sure the remaining neutrals will probably help us more than the elims.
  15. Honestly, my thought process was that I didn't want CadCom to die, I didn't really want Shanerockes to die, it didn't look like anyone else was gonna end up getting lynched that late in the cycle, and we honestly needed to lynch someone. I'm not usually a fan of D1 no lynches (as long as there's been a decent level of participation from everyone on D1), and every lynch tells us something useful. Granted it wasn't much help knowing that Shane was just the journalist, though that is one potential elim-siding neutral out of the way. Granted, this probably gives more incentive to the other neutrals to work with the elims. They don't want the village getting too far ahead of the game, and helping the elims could stop that from happening. Also, I happened to be around near the end of the cycle because I had a couple minutes before class started, which was the exact time that the cycle was gonna end. It wasn't enough time to really change anything, unless I wanted to lynch CadCom.
  16. Okay, I’m not really sure why we’re lynching CadCom. Maybe I missed something, but nothing they’ve said has really stood out to me so far. I don’t know if I wanna lynch shanerockes though. I’ll have to leave for class soon though, so I guess I should make up my mind...okay. I wanna see how people react to this. shanerockes. I’m not always a fan of tied lynches, but it’s only the first day and no one else is gonna be lynched this late in the cycle anyway. Also, @Amanuensis thanks for the vote of confidence. Obviously, now I have to believe that you’re pocketing me. And @Fifth Scholar your suspicion of me is certainly warranted. If I had time to really sit and defend myself, I would, but I need to leave soon, so I can’t do much. I’ll just say that I’d have totally been down for doing something like you suggest me and Aman might be doing, if we’re both elims.
  17. I forgot that insanity doesn't let you PM when I wrote that. And then went and read more about insanity to write the rest of my post...and didn't change the beginning of the post. Go me. Anyway, the Necronomicon can only be used at night anyway. Which would mean that, if the user used it N1, they would be able to reveal it D2 in thread, even though they can't vote or PM or take an action. The only problem I see with that is what we would do if multiple people claimed that different people were the Deep One. Maybe lynch one of them that Day and have the Gravedigger kill the other that night? Granted, whoever claimed the wrong Deep One would probably have to be of the Order anyway, so it'd probably be in their best interests to just let the Deep One die. Anyway, now that I understand insanity rules and stuff better, it'd probably be best if the Gravedigger(s) keep their identity secret, and then act on any potential reveal of a Deep One later in the game. I was under the assumption that you could become Insane multiple times. I don't know why you wouldn't be able to.
  18. Mr. Freegift had been listening to the people in the room discussing their options. Many assumed he was just slow of thought, but he simply preferred to wait things out before he spoke. It was always better to make a plan, his old man used to say. While he listened to the voices of the people in the room, he lightly tapped his cane on the ground to a steady rhythm. He also tapped his left finger on the armrest of his chair, but at a different rhythm than his cane. The effort it took to keep the two rhythms separate in his head, while still paying attention to the discussions, were enough to keep the voices in his head away. For now. ~ Sorry for taking so long to post, I kept meaning to, but college takes up a lot of my time and so I haven't been able to find a time to just sit down and think about what I want to do with Mr. Freegift. I was thinking about putting my thoughts on what everyone has posted in RP, but that would be too much for me right now with how tired I am. I'll probably be able to get on again before the end of the cycle, but don't expect anything huge from me. Anyway, onto some analysis. Like Fifth said, I think that whoever has the necronomicon should use it as soon as possible. In addition to that, it might be beneficial for the Gravedigger to roleclaim publicly. I'm not usually one for public role claims this early in the game, but if the user of the necronomicon finds out who the Deep One is and PMs the Gravedigger the results (who the village could pass Elder Sign Pendants too), we could easily get rid of the Deep One. The only downside to that is that the Order could use Fenweed Poison or Mists of Releh to prevent the kill from going through. And there's no way the village would have enough Pendants to send to the Gravedigger (or that the village would even trust the person claiming Gravedigger enough to give them their Pendants). So...maybe the Gravedigger publicly roleclaiming isn't the best idea. In that case, I think it'd be in the Gravedigger's best interests to get their kills in as soon as possible. Even if they hit a fort folk, that still narrows our list of suspicions drastically. And gives us data on players who interacted with that dead player. As for my opinion on insanity, I don't think we should all be trying our hardest to go insane. When we're insane, that's a whole cycle where we can't PM, vote, or take an action. That just gives way too much power to the Order. Anyway, I had other thoughts, but it's getting kind of late and I have an early class tomorrow.
  19. @Kasimir I call dibs on the Former Flame.
  20. I really shouldn’t. But this looks too fun to pass up. It’s been long enough since I’ve played anyway. I’ll sign up as Mr. Freegift.
  21. It’s not just that. It’s knowing that the humans really are the transgressors in the whole conflict, coupled with Honor raving at them about the Radiants destroying everything again, and all of that on top of the actual evidence of the destruction they can cause when they see the lobotomization of the Singers during the False Desolation.
  22. This isn’t necessarily weird, but I have a (very small) fan base. I was in the TMEA All-state symphony orchestra this year, and I played 2nd bass clarinet in The Rite of Spring. There is a non-zero amount of people who are more obsessed with me than is really necessary. It’s weird because like these people talk about me as if I’m some sort of bass clarinet god or something.
  23. Brandon has touched on this one WoBs before, but yes, the ideals are not all exactly the same for every person in a particular order. Each person will have a slightly different version of the same ideal, though they’re all based around the same concept.
  24. It would leave him weaker than he is now, and would open him up to an attack from Cultivation.
