Mid-Range Game 39: For Science
StrikerEZ replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Nathan had seemed to have misplaced his lucky knife. Or, he thought to himself, scratching his chin, one of the rest of the team stole it from me. He spent some time searching and asking around for his knife, and soon found out that many people had tried to steal his knife, but when they'd gone to steal it, it was already gone. What a shame. That knife had been with him through thick and thin, and it sucked that he had lost it. After grieving for his lost knife for a bit longer, Nathan realized that people were trying to figure out who could've killed Absodel. He wasn't the sharpest knife...well, he wasn't even really a knife at all anymore since he'd lost his, huh. Nathan wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box, but he figured that anyone who had tried stealing his knife probably couldn't have been out shanking people with it. Because if they were looking for a knife, they probably couldn't be out killing anyone at the same time. Okay, so I think I've got a pretty decent idea of all the actions that people took last cycle. I'm sorry if anyone didn't want me revealing actions they'd told me about in PMs to the thread, but this might help us figure out who might've submitted the kill. StrikerEZ: Stole from Kynedath Kynedath: Stole from Elandera DeTess: Unknown Stick: Stole from Striker Sart: Unknown Butt Venture: Unknown Elandera: Unknown CadCom: Stole from Lemon Lemonelon: Stole from Striker Elkanah: Claims to have forgotten to submit an action Coda: Dead; confirmed village Devotary of Spontaneity: Unknown Kidpen: Unknown Twibanu: Claims to have both stolen and not stolen from me A Joe in the Bush: Stole from Striker So, our potential killer suspects are DeTess, Sart, Venture, Elandera, Elkanah (if they lied), Devotary, Kidpen, or Twibanu (depending on who they lied to). I'm putting my vote on Twibanu 1) because they either lied to me or Joe, 2) because Kynedath couldn't have put in the kill because I got the binoculars he stole from Elandera, 3) I'm too tired right now to try and figure out who else it could be out of our suspects, 4) I'm feeling rash and want to figure out why Fura lied and to which of us he lied, and 5) trying to get one elim out of 7 other candidates is a lot harder than voting on someone who has done something that screams elim to me.- 338 replies

Mid-Range Game 39: For Science
StrikerEZ replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I’m still not sure what exactly it is about my play style C1 that always gets me lynched. Even though it is kinda annoying, it does make for some fun jokes. ...I’m surprised you read my post that way. I thought I made it pretty obvious I was only gonna vote for him if later posts didn’t help set up an alibi for him. Both his posts and your posts make believe that, even if CadCom is an elim, he’s not lying about his action last cycle. It would take both you and Lemon also being elims for it to work. While that’s not impossible, I don’t think you guys would be the type to make a play like that. Anyway, all that’s just to say that I’m not gonna vote on CadCom. As for Kynedath, you do make a good point that he seems to have focused on a very small group of players. Which I also made the mistake of doing. So, while it is odd that he’s continuing to do so, I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily because he’s an elim. Plus, I think I trust him from our PMs.- 338 replies

@Elbereth I just read through the spec doc. I would say I’m mad that you didn’t want to go for the Kandra win, but I can’t blame you. Lying and backstabbing basically was the point of this game. Also, I’m sad that this game was run during my finals. If I’d had more time, I would’ve done a lot more RP. I’d really hyped myself up about Variel. Of course, I think I might go and write some RP now that the game is over and Variel basically won control of his house.

Yeah...that’s fair. I don’t think CadCom’s posts are as suspicious as yours, but I don’t think Elkanah’s or Kidpen’s are very suspicious either. So CadCom is as good of a choice as any of them. Plus, we have no solid alibi for him not submitting the kill. I don’t think I’ll put a vote on him yet. I wanna have time to think about it, reread the thread yesterday, and give CadCom and others time to respond to this first.- 338 replies

Well, it could help if we know who he claims to have stolen from. And that other player should be able to confirm his alibi. The only problem with that I can think of is if he just claims to have stolen from an elim teammate.- 338 replies

In his defense, he told me relatively early on in the cycle that he would be attempting to steal from someone. Obviously, that could’ve been just to provide himself an alibi while he submitted the kill, but I’m willing to trust him until he can get on and say whether or not he did steal from someone. @CadCom- 338 replies

StrikerEZ replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Okay, first, I’d like to say sorry Coda. I wasn’t completely sure you were an elim, but I felt like there was more to go on with you than with someone I felt would’ve been more cautious if they were an elim. Second, I think if I’m reading the results right, we know that whoever submitted the kill was not around for rollover. Which means that it can’t be one of Twibanu, Stick (I saw her recently viewing the thread at the end there), Sart, I think Joe was on at one point after the lynch had flipped to Coda, and myself. I can’t remember if I’m forgetting anyone. Anyway, just because none of us could’ve submitted the kill doesn’t mean that none of us are elims. I’d bet at least one of us is an elim. Third, I’m kind of annoyed that apparently two different people stole from me. So not only did I lose the item I already had, I lost the one I stole from someone else too!- 338 replies

If you don’t want to move your vote, it looks like @_Stick_ could decide the lynch. She’s at least been recently viewing for awhile now. Also, I meant to say this in the last post but didn’t want to edit it in or double post: the main reason I haven’t posted support of Sart in thread was because I had way less time than I thought I was gonna have yesterday. The Christmas party went a lot later than I thought it would, and it took me a lot longer to get ready for it than I thought. Also, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to voice my support because it wasn’t so much support as thinking that I don’t think elim!Sart would’ve been so blatant about bandwagoning. Also, I don’t like the idea of not having a lynch, so if no one breaks the tie, I’ll remove my vote.- 338 replies

Because it’s been almost a full 24 hours since I last sent a message and you never responded. And, if I remember correctly, Sart voted on Venture sometime after that. I definitely mentioned at least skepticism of Sart doing that as an elim in multiple other PMs though. I could go back through and see who I told that to.- 338 replies

So, I’m very conflicted. I don’t want Sart to get lynched because 1) I never felt like his vote on Venture was too suspicious, and 2) his explanation of his vote on Venture makes sense. At the same time, voting on Coda does nothing because it just ensures no one gets lynched. And I don’t like how Coda just seemed willing to not even try for points. Even as a villager, points are very useful. The least they can do is get you a strongbox so you can protect your item from the elims (or anyone really) trying to steal it and be able to use it at the same time. I’m gonna vote for Coda and hope someone can get on in time to break the tie.- 338 replies

Wonko's your Kandra right? So either I kandrafy myself (@Straw is that allowed?) and Wonko kills me, or I kandrafy you and Wonko kills you. Either way, Wonko is killing one of us.

I got passed an atium bead somehow. So I think I should Kandrafy Elkanah and you kill him? That way Nobledra survives. Or you guys could lynch me and win the game.

I mean, I feel like I tend to write posts that sound like I’m unsure most of the time, regardless of alignment. Mostly because I tend to overthink things and don’t like saying anything as if I’m absolutely sure of it in case I might be wrong.- 338 replies

I’m pretty sure the smoke bomb is a one use thing. Which would mean that, even if the elims started with one, they would have to wait until at least cycle 3 to buy another, and cycle 4 to even get to use it. Which means they would have to be smart about when they use that first smoke bomb. Knives are probably gonna be pretty useful, because they basically can block anything. If the elims already got one, it’s gonna be hard for the village to get anything done if the elims know who to target. And if the elims do have one, I bet the village has at least one, if not two, already. That could either be a blessing or a curse, depending on how good at guessing alignments the stabber is.- 338 replies

The one advantage elims would have with a smaller team is that it’d be much less likely for the village to be able to catch them early on with stuff like binoculars or the gun/knife. They’d be far more likely to just hit another villager. But there’s always the chance that a villager or two gets lucky, and that kinda feels like leaving the chances of the elims winning up to chance. So I dunno. I’d be curious to see BR's thoughts on why she chose whichever distribution she did after the game’s over, because I’m not even sure which team size I would’ve picked. Ruining people’s fun is my job. Also, I definitely noticed that thing about Fifth too. That’s why I said fifth instead of last- 338 replies

Nathan Lancaster had always hated the Epics. One of them had torn through his hometown during their Rending and had taken the life of his best friend Mei. He spent the next five years of his life building together a group of people who had all lost loved ones in that Epic's wake, and they set out to kill him. The attack ultimately failed though, and it was only through the help of a local Reckoners group that he'd even managed to survive the failed mission. He spent the next year or so wandering the country, searching for the purpose in his life (while avoiding people who would be all to willing to turn him in for the bounty on his head). then he heard about the doctor's organization and what they were doing. Taking Epics and experimenting on them to help people. Well, it was a no-brainer to join them. He'd get to take down Epics and do some good for the world at the same time. ~ Okay, all that aside, I guess I should probably do some analysis. First things I've noticed, @BrightnessRadiant is there a limit on how many items you can hold at a time? Can you pass items to another player? Second, I would just like to point out that I think Twib just made a mistake when they said the earliest you could use the gun would be turn 8. I'd rather not lynch them for something like that, because that's the exact type of mistake I tend to make that gets me lynched. I would be interested to see how @Twibanu responds to everyone about his mistake. Third, I'd be kinda surprised if there's 4 elims this game. Seems like a lot of elims when you consider the potential for them getting two kills if they get their hands on a gun, whether that's through stealing one from someone who started with one or getting the gun off the black market. At the same time, if the village started out with a gun, 3 elims is almost too little to me. It'd be all too likely for that villager to get a lucky shot on an elim in the early game and then the elims would spend the entire game just trying to recover from that, while also trying to not be suspicious. I don't know how BR would've decided to do the distribution (even though I know her well, I don't know if I've ever played any games she's run), and I'm not willing to make any hard bets yet. Fourth, I will totally be going for the gun on cycle 6. Fifth, please don't lynch me D1 again.- 338 replies

I kinda wanna wait around for the last atium bead to show up so all six of us can win. I’m sorry to those that have not survived to be apart of the Nobledra Alliance, but I’m trying to get as many people Kandrafied as possible to make up for it.
