  1. @Straw good job almost winning!! Not gonna lie, I was kind of rooting for you to pull off a win at the end there. I always like to root for the SK/elims.
  2. I would be available to play! I'm glad to have been nominated to represent SE in the games, and I'd be glad if anyone else nominated did too.
  3. I think I’m going to vote for Coda. I don’t really have any suspicions on anyone else and I don’t quite want to die myself before I can get the motivation to get back into this game and try and figure things out.
  4. I haven’t been adding much because I can’t think of anything to add. If one of my PM contacts would be okay with revealing our PM, they could confirm that I’d mentioned voting on TGK either yesterday morning or this morning. I didn’t do it when I said I would because I saw his posts and started feeling bad for him, but I decided to just stick with my guns. I don’t see any other good options for a lynch and I don’t have the mental energy to try and find one. Plus I don’t think there’s gonna be much use in trying to redirect this bandwagon.
  5. Yeah, this is what I meant by that. I think it’s great to find an elim super early because it helps us win, but it is a bittersweet because that means that that player didn’t even get to spend much time scheming. Also, I think I’m gonna just vote on TGK in order to secure a lynch. Voting on anyone else doesn’t make sense at this point.
  6. I'd like to nominate @Kynedath@Elkanah and @DeTess. You guys have all really impressed me in recent games we've played, and I think it'd be really fun to see how any of them do in the championship!
  7. I...you’re going about this very strangely. I want to believe you that you’re not elim, but you’re not really doing anything to help me believe that. My natural response to your posts since Joe’s big post laying out his reasoning for you being an elim has been to think that you’re an elim feeling frustrated that you got caught so early and easily. If that is the case, I can relate. It sucks to be caught, but that’s the nature of the game. Getting mad about it doesn’t help anyone. The other way I could read all this is that you’re a villager feeling very frustrated that everything you do is being read as if you’re an elim. Which is also very reasonable. I’ve been there quite a bit. Either way, this almost righteous anger you’ve got doesn’t help anyone’s opinion of you. In my experience, those who are elims tend to get angrier when they’re caught than villagers do about being tunneled on. The best thing that’s going to help you is if you take some time to just chill and come back with a good, reasonable explanation of why you’re not a Knight or the Smedry.
  8. I think codes are perfectly okay for players to do. I just know that, for me personally, it's sometimes distracting, especially when someone's posts are just codes. I wouldn't be opposed to players having to put their codes and stuff in spoilers though! I don't want people to have to stop doing them if they love doing them, it's just not my thing.
  9. I mean, I think the bigger clue to there being more than one of them is the fact that Elkanah was an Engineer. Maybe the GMs had assumed he'd survive long enough to make a glass to give to teammates he converted? I think it'll be easier to assume that he had a teammate.
  10. Well...this is certainly interesting. I’m not really a fan of this lynch. Hasn’t Elkanah previously expressed their desire to not have a lynch on D1? All of their votes have been put on people in such a way as to make sure there won’t actually be a lynch. And the vote on Elandera clearly looks like a joke vote to me. Yet, it seems 3-4 people voted on them after Elkanah’s explanation? I dunno, it just seems like a bunch of panic over nothing. I guess we’ll find out whether it was worth it or not in a bit.
  11. Well, I wasn’t expecting my vote to cause all of this. I’m certainly glad it caused a good amount of discussion though! I wasn’t voting on Sart because he voted on Coda for doing the code stuff. I think I remember part of his reasoning being that Coda seemed to not really be putting any effort into the game, which is the vibe they kinda put off sometimes. There’s nothing wrong with that, they just don’t have as much to say. And I feel like Sart would probably know Coda enough to know that, but I don’t know how much he’s played with them. Anyway, I’m leaving my vote on Sart.
  12. I mean, the doc is a big commitment of time, but I feel like the amount of time a player wants to put into the entire game is usually higher when they're an elim. And that amount of time isn't going to be spent solely on talking with their teammates in the doc. Plus, if an elim wants info from from a villager about their role, checking the secret codes they're sending to each other might be a good place to start without having to leave a trace of their search for info through PMs. I don't think there's anything wrong with doing the codes, just this is a possibility you have to be aware of when doing it. It does make it easier for the elims to get information that you want secret from them, but the elims are already trying to get information anyway, so the extra work isn't really gonna deter them I think. Personally, I think I'd rather just lynch someone. I've been on the fence about it most of the cycle, but I think I just want the info from having at least one person's role and alignment revealed. Plus, actually putting pressure on someone give us some info from other players with their thoughts about it. Speaking of which, I think I'm going to vote on Sart because I don't like the way he voted for Coda. It feels...odd to me? Mostly because I realized that I'd been kinda getting the same vibe from Coda he was until I remembered that this is basically how Coda always plays. Which Sart should know by now. @Straw Oof.
  13. @The_God_King@Coda@Elkanah I'm sorry that I made you guys feel like you couldn't do the codes. I think it's fine if you do them! I was just getting a little frustrated because I am bad at breaking codes and they hurt my brain when I try to do them. I don't have much else to say. I think Coda's right that this is basically their normal style of play, so I probably won't be voting on them for it.
  14. Oh...sorry for the confusion? Either I read your post as advocating more for it than you meant or I just completely misunderstood to begin with. As for your read on Fifth, I wasn't necessarily getting a super strong village vibe from. To be fair, if I were a Crystal Knight, I'd probably leave Fifth unconverted (assuming he's village right now) and wait for him to earn his reputation of honorary elim. (No offense @Fifth Scholar by the way. I hope you understand my point though ) I think if I had to vote on anyone right now, it'd probably be Coda? Or maybe someone who hasn't shown up yet? Has everyone shown up yet? Also, I just realized that Knights/the Smedry are probably gonna want to avoid just locking people up as much as possible because they can still vote in lynches even though they don't count towards win cons anymore. So there could be a bunch of villagers locked up in jail which no one's going to want to waste faction actions on who can still impact the lynches. At the same time, we do need to truly lynch some people to get some info about alignments.
  15. Personally, I think this is the best reason to keep PM contacts secret from the whole thread. Individual players can make the decision whether or not to reveal their contacts to the people they're PMing, but that information being public could lead to the elims knowing who's going to be protected and who not to kill. Okay. If the pillar things are out on N1 and the Knights convert N1, do the Knights have to wait until N3 or can they try again on N2? This is another reason I'm starting to think revealing PM contacts probably isn't the best idea. I don't fault Joe for coming up with the idea (it's a lot harder to notice flaws in your own ideas), and I actually really appreciate him posting it because it caused a lot of really good discussion! Speaking of which.... bets you to do it anyway I wasn't trying to say that we shouldn't keep discussing things. I'm normally a big fan of D1 lynches, just this one is a bit interesting because we have the option of just jailing someone or taking them out of the game. Plus I just would feel very bad if we managed to lynch and kill the Crystal Knight this cycle (if there's only one-this might not be a problem consider El's PAFO). And yeah, I begrudgingly agree that, even when we don't want a lynch, we kinda need one to get some info and discussion going. Just I'm not happy that we're probably gonna kill a Librarian this cycle.
  16. @Elbereth Are conversions publicly announced when they happen? Did we only start with one Knight? (I'm expecting a PAFO on that one, but doesn't hurt to ask :P) @A Joe in the Bush I'm conflicted on whether or not we should reveal who all we have PMs with. The faction actions, as far as I'm aware, aren't limited to who the faction members have PMs with, so knowing who has PMs with who won't really help us track down conversions and the kills. I can't really see advantages to disclosing our PM contacts, especially this early in the game. As for the lynch, I think it might be best to not have one today. Partially because I think it would be really sucky if we managed to jail/lynch the only Knight on D1, but also because we have a 87.5% chance of just hitting a Librarian anyway (assuming we started with 1 Knight and 1 Smedry). I'm not too set on not having a lynch if we decide someone is absolutely worthy of getting lynched today, however. Personally, I don't think anyone's said anything too wild yet. Also, I would like to say that all the codes and stuff are a little bit annoying, but I think it's fine as long as you're posting other content with them!
  17. Kyle Norman had spent his whole life waiting for this moment. Having never experienced anything exciting or out of the ordinary, he'd begun his search for something strange at the ripe young age of 21. 5 years later, with nothing to show for it and a lot less money than he had started with, he decided to make his way to the White House. If he was gonna do one last thing before he returned to a normal life of working in a late stage capitalist society, he may as well visit the White House. And now he was here. And there was something strange going on. He'd never been more excited in his life. ~ Okay, I've read all of the rules and I'm caught up on everyone's posts, I just don't have many thoughts to give right now. Like always, xino's analysis of the roles and stuff is pretty good and I don't have much to say about that that hasn't already been said. I'll probably read over everything again in a bit to see if there's anything that might be worth commenting on that I forgot about since I last read the thread at almost 2 am last night.
  18. There would still be more traders than elims. Normally, the game ends when elims outnumber or which parity with the village, so it doesn't make sense to start the game off with more elims than villagers. In a game this size and with a normal elim team I'd expect 3-4 elims. If the elims don't have a doc and they don't know the identities of their teammates, I'd bet that number's closer to 5-6. 7 would be a bit too much, and 8 would absolutely be way too much.
  19. Hmmmm. This is definitely interesting. I didn't even initially consider the possibility of the elims not having a doc or even not knowing their teammates. I'm not sure that's what's going on here (though why else would Elkanah PAFO the question?), but I do know that I don't really like the idea. For me, the fun part of being an elim is getting to talk with your teammates and plot out the demise of the village. Otherwise, you're kind of a lone serial killer, except you don't even get complete control over your kill. I don't have any thoughts on anyone yet really. Though, I'd love it if xino was an elim just trying to throw us off the trail by making us think that the elims don't know each other when they actually do.
  20. Okay, so I'm gonna create a faction that's goal is to kill all of the Crystal Knights. I'll decide on a character later.
  21. @Arraenae@Burnt Spaghetti If either of you are still looking for a non-Sanderson game...you could pick this one. I've already got a plan for one, but if neither of you can do this one...I might have to.
  22. HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY (OR MAYBE NOT IF YOU'RE STILL ON YOUR BIRTHDAY IN YOUR TIMEZONE)!!!!
  23. Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and sign up. I've been missing playing, and I seem to have a lot more time than I used to. Shien, the name of a man no one recognizes yet claims to have studied at all the great universities of Arelon.
  24. So, I’ve realized that I definitely don’t have time to play this game, so I need to go ahead and just drop out. I’ll still take a spec doc link!
