Emperor's Soul Theory Discussions
Aeshdan replied to Windrunner's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Yeah, but aluminum has exactly the same property (can't be Pushed or Pulled) and it's a perfectly ordinary metal. -
Actually, I just want Kuri to respond to my posts. If our two threads don't end up merging, that's fine.

I think that might have to wait a decade or so, considering that It'll be within a couple of years of Mistborn Trilogy 2. Of course, that time could be cut significantly if we could find a Slider to speed Him up...

1,2,3, 4. Scadrial's magnetic pole was decoupled from its geopgraphic pole when TLR moved the Well. It is now at Luthadel, which is probably around European lattitudes. 5. I have no idea. 6. I suspect it was that Elend could brace himself because he knew what to expect, while the Inquisitor got slammed with double or triple the expected force. 7-10. Someone else has given the same answer as I would here.

Kuri, could you please respond to this?

I was thinking that he could only do it because he was holding way more saidin than should be possible and he seemed to be channeling the Light/Creator directly. In other words, it's not something he could repeat except maybe with the Choedan Kal.

Do you suppose that the Bore is weakening some of the rules on the OP? Because there are a lot of tricks that modern Aes Sedai can do that were impossible in the AoL, including but not limited to: -Warder bonds -Weather manipulation without the ter'angreal -Healing severing -Possibly healing the taint -Forcing someone into a circle (both the a'dam and whatever trick the Black Ajah use).

Adolin has Shardplate too, and he's certainly a womanizing goofball, well not so much by the end, but still.

Am I reading too much into this specific comment?
Aeshdan replied to Asperity's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I figure pre-Shard and post-Shard Cosmere can be considered two different universes, since the fundamental rules are different in each. -
That's what I get too. +1.

1. Brandon has pointed out several times in his annotations that being Drab does significantly affect you. 2. There is no reason to suppose that life-sense doesn't exist on other planets. I've felt it myself sometimes, for that matter. 3. Brandon said in an interview somewhere that non-nalthians "cannot use what they have". that strongly implies that the Breath is a fragment of the natural soul.

Least favourite character in cosmere?
Aeshdan replied to Straff Venture's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Where'd you get the idea Steris was a kandra? I like it and it would fit her personality, but I think we need at least a scrap of evidence on that. -

I really want some advice on the world/magic system. Please

I like the way that you balanced the priest's increeased powers with decreased regular fuctionality. Very good! -
Least favourite character in cosmere?
Aeshdan replied to Straff Venture's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I kind of like Steris too. Unfortunately, I think Wayne is correct, Steris is completely and utterly insane. Luckily for Wax, her particular sort of madness doesn't interfere with a productive and happy life. I think she and Wax could be happy together, actually. -
Least favourite character in cosmere?

Brandon actually remarks in this annotation (http://www.brandonsanderson.com/annotation/20/Elantris-Chapter-13) how he's noticed that people always assume making a character good means tainting them in some way. Especially odd if you remember that The Protagonist (Jesus) was the only person in his story to be completely incorrupt. -
Lashings and the gravitational spiritual bond
Aeshdan replied to Cones For Eyes's topic in Stormlight Archive
I have a slightly different angle on that. I think the Basic Lashing works by redefining the directional component of the gravity vector. In other words, ordinary Earth gravity pulls all objects directly towards Earth with an acceleration of 32 ft/sec2. But with a Lashing, Earth's gravity now pulls you directly towards the wall (or whatever) with an acceleration of 32 ft/sec2. In other words, the planet is still generating the same gravitional force, it's just the Light alters what direction that force pulls. -

Wonderful! This deserved more than one upvote, so I upvoted all the posts you'd made. Thank you!

Or use his dog hair. More seriously, I asked Brandon "1. Is it at all possible for Kelsier to be reincarnated/posess someone/show up as a ghost/whatever and become a character in a future Mistborn book?" in the Q&A, and his response is "He's shown up before, so I'd say that's a pretty good indication for the future." Not exactly a yes, but I'd say a favorable indication.
