  1. *Does a couple of weaves* kdsfjafjka jksdfj al jkafjakl jfsdkal kldsj dfjalkfdk jkad j....OWWWW!!! *releases them* Ok, that's better.
  2. Very interesting take on the whole Altered idea. Usually, paranormal powers don't activate until the Evo is several years old at least, often not until the teens or even the twenties. (usually either the powers don't activate until puberty or the brain structures responsible take a while to devleop). I think this is to prevent exactly this effect.
  3. @Khorival, two points: 1. "Suddenly the ability not to get up and kill was gone, as impossible as falling up." Luckily for Khorival, I can think of two ways to fall up off the top of my head. 2. How does Khorival get his orders? If the big drum only specifies rank and number, why does he have to go and not someone else? How did he know he was supposed to go to that house and kill those people?
  4. 1. Use the bubble as a sheild, putting it between the enemy and what you want to protect. Ranged weapons will go crazily awry and charges will be frozen in place. 2. Use it to freeze an audience to allow for better scenry change in the theater. 3. Survive drowning, especially since cadmium stores breath.
  5. "Darker" is a term used on many of my planes to refer to servants of the Powers of Evil. Carries the implication that said searvant is sentient and aware of the nature of its master, though it can connote both an Always Chaotic Evil creature or a human or other such morally responsible entity that has chosen evil deliberately. Creatures under the influence of full mind control that are still morally good, such as Marsh, are not generally regarded as darkers, nor are creatures that serve the Evil One out of good intentions due to ignorance, folly, and/or deception.
  6. Remember, Elend had been fighting koloss for hours and was almost out of the basic metals. That may have had something to do with it. As for which art is the most powerful, I think it depends on the context. For example, Feruchemy can deleiver the most raw energy per unit time, but it has very limited power reserves. Allomancy, on the other hand, has virtually unlimited duration but there's a cap on how much raw power you can use at any given second. So Feruchemy would be better at tasks that demand a lot of power really fast, but Allomancy would be better at tasks that demand long stretches of effort.
  7. Of course, it's possible that the Parshendi only grew the carapace armor to allow for fighting, and they'll shed it when they return to civilian life.
  8. I'm pretty sure that Mat and Tuon are both madly in love with each other, they just have to be forced to spend time to gether in order to realize it. I wonder if she'll still call him "Toy"?
  9. Some things I thought of include the Shuhr (elite uber-death-ninja-assassins created from mistwraiths, with Potency, Presence, and awareness but no prohibition on killing humans.), Hellhounds (created by giving a wolfhound 2 iron spikes. Very low mental resistance, but hard to control due to brutish minds making them very prone to msiunderstand orders.).

    Legion

On a more theoretical note, does it seem to anybody else that Stephen's abilities are a lot like the Kkell of Skill? Brandon said that the big problem with that system was that it had too few limits. Well, Legion takes the same basic idea (learning skills a lot faster than should be possible) and gives it some limitations. Also, do you think that Razon's time-camera uses the same spiritual grounding as bendalloy-bubbles?
  11. @Lightflame: I like your story, think the "didn't want to die again" flavor is excellent. I have a bit of an issue with Kano's enemies being the "Knights", as that on its own implies him as a darker. Unless he actually is one, I suggest you think about that. Also, if Kano can return from the dead, what good does it do the knights to fight him and his? Is it supposed to be a "kill the monster and get rid of him for a couple of decades" scenarion like in Percy Jackson?
  12. Plus this website(http://www.theodoregray.com/PeriodicTable/Elements/024/index.s7.html) explains that metallic chromnium is one of the rarest substances in the world. Nearly all the chromnium in industry is stored as chromic acid or in use as a few-micron-thick sheen on something.
  13. It's been ahobby of mine for some time, even on this forum. Witness my theory that Navani is really *Ssssssh*.
  14. I was trying to just be silly and supportive of loony theories. Sorry about it coming off too weird.
  15. Of course this is utterly ridiculous! This is 17thShard!
  16. Not necessarily. Surgebinding works by forming bonds with spren, which are attracted based on your actions. Dna, of either mundane or magical sorts, does not have to be involved. I officially like the idea that House Davar are Scadrialians. Furthermore, I'm going to propose that the stress of killing her father Snapped Shallan, but that she doesn't realize this yet because she hasn't been eating metals recently.
  17. Even Compounded luck has two major limitations: 1. Burning even a fully charged chromniummind only gets you so much ridiculously good luck, due to the limitations of Allomancy (metals only burn so fast). 2. Metallic chromnium is incrdibly rare. Most of the time it's stored as chromic acid, which probably can't be burnt.
  18. It's one of the most basic laws of chemistry that doubling the concentration of reactant doubles the speed of a reaction. We know that Kabsal used enough that Jasnah might have inhaled a lethal dose, so that would be probably ten times the strength, say? Also note that there was enough time for Kabsal to give Shallan the antidote, it just smelled horrid.
  19. My guess is that Ruin could have added his power to Preservation's at any time, but when Preservation was still alive this would have allowed Leras to do whatever he liked with the lent power.
  20. Not this one. As you should know from WoT, super-luck can't let you do something impossible, just the immensly improbable.
  21. Except for atium (which is used as a currency), the Allomantic metals are all common enough to be useless as currency (rather like how iron and steel aren't currencies in the real world even though they have a host of uses). I think gold was used for currency on Scadrial because of its rareness and shininess, just in in the real world. TLR could probably have made something else the basic currency, but he saw no reason to when gold worked so perfectly.
  22. Nice, though I hope the next sentence explains why surviving for fourty seconds should be at all tricky.
  23. I agree with this theory. It's the only way to explain how something can leave a time bubble without encountering a Zeno's Paradox.
  24. God,/rejecting all evils./Behold,/evils all/rejecting God. Beyond death/the choice eternal/beware/eternally choosing/the death beyond.
