  1. People using frozen sheet pastry. Yes, I know that some types of pastry are very fiddly and take a long time to make, so frozen pastry has its place, but if you can make it using homemade pastry its a lot better and if you have the time there's really no excuse. Besides, shortcrust is actually really easy and you can make a lot of things from that.
  2. When people touch the lens of their glasses. With their fingers. And get their fingerprints all over them. I find it extremely disgusting. Please, use a glasses cloth or even your shirt if you need to. Using your fingers, contrary to what my grandad seems to think for some weird reason, makes things even worse.
  3. When you're trying to work out if a piece of yarn is number 4 colour (chalk) or number 18 (ice cube) and immeadiately think this would be a lot easier if you had a whole load of Breath. Seriously, they are so similar its not funny.
  4. ...so you've actually memorised it. Actually, it's not that long so it's not really surprising I suppose...
  5. I'm pretty sure you use that exact quote each time... have you memorised it, or do you just have it saved on a document/sticky note somewhere?
  6. Yeah, I'm really enjoying it so far.
  7. I haven't been doing much lately, so basically. Oh, and I've been reading a Name of the Wind online, so yeah...
  8. Oh, don't be ridiculous, negetive emails are when the Dark Lord of Dark Darkness and Dark Shadows sends you emails. Happens all the time. Well-known fact.
  9. To be honest, I already feel sorry for that character. Unless they don't have pies there, she probably has so many jokes made about her name.
  10. Anti-notification? I've never seen that happen before. Then again, it's probably just from the mobile version. Amusing, though.
  11. Hey, nice to meet you and welcome to the shard! Yeah, I think we all hope that somehow we can all make sense of the 'mess' that is understanding the cosmere. Oh, and some advise: if anyone offers you cookies, be careful. They'll Ruin your life. They are a good source of iron, though.
  12. That was good. I think it was better than the first one, but that might just be me. Oh, and an edit: “Lu” she called over her shoulder. He waited for her to give an address, but she was already gone. Comma after her name, perhaps?
  13. Figgins, I arrived late. Hello, and welcome to the shard. Apparently, the cookies are very useful: you can use them to kill people, or as a source of iron. Oh, and you can eat them too, if it comes to it. They might be a tad too hard, though, and a little bloodstained.
  14. Hm...really, I would recomend just going through the different topics, on the theory boards and book ones, and picking out the ones you want to know more about. If you have a direct question, I would think just asking is probably the best way, or doing a search to find some information. Or, you could go on the Coppminds, which has both given information from the books and a certain amount of theory.
  15. Hey, nice to meet you and welcome to the shard. I would advise you to be wary of any proffered cookies.
  16. It's probably one of the best books to adapt, in terms of ease etc. Most of the others have long plots with lots of twists, as well as multiple viewpoint characters as well as complex magic systems that can be hard to put full understanding of in a 2 hour movie. But Steelheart doesn't have these things as much. It's shorter than even Elantris, I would think, so they won't have to cut as much out. There's only one viewpoint character, and what would be called the 'magic system' doesn't require much explaining, but is different enough to stand out. Only problem is, it might face a certain amount of competition from other producers of 'superhero' movies i.e. Marvel and D.C.
  17. Hey, nice to meet you and welcome to the shard!
  18. I also have no idea who the budgie you are. Anyway, nice to meet you I suppose.
  19. That is a seriously weird test. Personally, I find it amusing to take the ones that try to tell you what age you are, because they are always incorrect, sometimes by about 50 years.
  20. Nice to meet you, and welcome to the shard! So what books have you read, then?
  21. Ha, the title is at least appropriate. Anyway, welcome to the shard!
  22. That's amazing! The third one is really adorable.
  23. When none of your friends have actually read the Stormlight Archive (or any of the cosmere books at all, in most cases bar one), but they all know about the stick. And whenever one of you wears boots, someone says 'I am offend. You will apology with boots.' I have trained them well.
  24. Hey, and welcome to the shard. Most people post theories individually, I think.
  25. Hey, nice to meet you and welcome to the shard! I would advise you to be careful of the cookies here, although as a lurker you may already have heard about them. And I see you've read Worm as well- it's strange, I only know two people who have read that in real life, but it certainly seems popular with people on here.
