  1. There is a typo on the Koloss Blades section: I think the first "koloss" is meant to be swords.
  2. I think the best way to get around this is to attract spren from orders that share similar ideals, though this would likely be limited to 2, maybe 3 bonds at most. I imagine that this is what Brandon meant by a hard limit, since it would be hard to adhere to many oaths with out them contradicting each other. I'm fairly sure that the spren would be alive in whatever scenario Brandon was thinking of though, since otherwise the hard limit would be 10, which seems unlikely.
  3. It has been stated that if a person bonds several shard blades they would have to summon each blade individually, with each blade requiring its own set of 10 heartbeats. However, I saw this quote: The above rule talks about the 10 heartbeats, which means that it applies to dead spren blades. But Brandon has said it is possible to have more than one spren, and shard blades that come from live spren can be summoned near instantaneously. Could this be used as a work around to summon several blades at once?
  4. My personal theory for Bendalloy/Atium and Cadmium/Atium is that it is the same ability but you project the bubbles around others, similar to how Atium + Gold makes you see other people's pasts instead of your own.
  5. Maybe if a Radiant was bonded to several spren at once? Then they might be able to summon them all as one huge blade.
  6. This was part of my question. I realize that Brandon doesn't want to make them common, it's just that if we as readers know there is a way for a future main character to return, even if they were to die, does this affect the feeling of suspense?
  7. In Bands of Morning, it is heavily implied that Kelsier manages to get a Physical anchor and effectively come back from the dead. So what does this mean for the future of the Cosmere? The way things are going now it seems likely that Kelsier will become more involved, which means that the method of his resurrection could potentially become more widely known. Additionally, in Secret History we see how people with large amounts of investiture tend to take longer to go to the Beyond. Since Brandon's characters often have large amounts of investiture, this means that in the future there could possibly be both means and opportunity for future main characters to return to life. Does this potentially affect the stories being told? How do you feel about the idea of widespread resurrection knowledge?
  8. My thoughts were that since 2/3 of the person would still exist, that the missing third would eventually rebuild itself. So if it did affect the person in the physical realm, I thought the most it might be would be a temporary catatonic state. To use the stick as an example, it is constantly saying "I am a stick", but if you were to break its bead (or put out a person's mind flame) it would temporarily stop. However, since it still physically exists, the stick/object would rediscover itself and regrow its Cognitive state.
  9. What would happen if you traveled to the Cognitive realm and threw a stick of dynamite into the sea of beads? Would this affect the Physical Realm? If so, would it be a visible affect? Are Physical objects even able to damage the cognitive beads? What if you tried to put out the flames that represent people's minds? I am of the opinion that if this did damage the beads, they would regenerate since the object still has a Physical and Spiritual presence. I'm not sure if there would be a visible affect in the Physical Realm or what it would be if there was. Has there been any mention of these situations?
  10. This supports what you were saying about how the power is tied to the spike but I don't completely understand. The use of words like "staple" and "hotwire" seem to give the impression that the donated attribute/power becomes part of the person's spirit web. From what I understand, the use of specific metals allows a Hemalurgy user to target certain powers for theft, and if the donee doesn't have said power in their spirit web, it can't be stolen. By similar logic if that person has the power, it is stolen when the correct metal is used. Its this part that also confuses me. To use your metaphor, if you had a right arm transplanted it now is part of your body (spirit web). If I then used "metal x" to spike you for right arms, shouldn't "metal x" allow me to target the transplanted arm? It's this part that makes me unsure about whether spiked powers can be taken with a spike, because while the attribute is tied to the original spike, it's still also part of the spiked person's spirit web and I don't know which of these would take precedence.
  11. Can you spike a person for an attribute that they are spiked with? I was thinking about this and couldn't think of a reason why not, since spikes steal attributes from other people's spirit webs and hemalurgic powers are attached to the person's spirit web. If so, what would happen? Would this steal the original spike's charge or would it simply diminish it? If spiked people can be spiked for attributes where does the madness end?
  12. If this is correct, would it be a one time use, or could you spike someone for some of their Breath (or other attribute), killing them, and then spike them again for additional Breaths or attributes?
  13. Vasher is hundreds of years old, yet he goes without the fifth heightening on several occasions. True, he has his Divine Breath but since it is suppressed it appears he gets none of the benefits that come with it. This would point to heightening immortality being more like a freeze-frame, (mistborn spoilers) It can keep you from aging, but any aging you do when not at the 5th heightening is irreversible. All in all, I agree with @Calderis.
  14. Elantris Emperor's Soul Edgedancer (Alternatively) Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell The Eleventh Metal
  15. Sorry about that. I didn't mean to make the topic hard find. I was mostly just trying to see if there were any strong theories for extending the effective range of Aons.
  16. Is there a Realmatic reason why Heralds lose their memories or is it something separate thatEndowment does to them? I was wondering because they seem to maintain muscle memory and some general knowledge (Lightsong and his boating terms), but are missing all specific information from their past life. If this is a choice Endowment's part, what purpose does it serve?
  17. They don't need unlimited metals if we are talking about a single battle. It would only take a moment of compounded power, after that more metal would be unnecessary.
  18. While I also agree that in a single fight a Fullborn would definitely win,I think the Herald in question could potentially be able to wear them down over the course of time through multiple resurrections.
  19. This would probably help lower the breath cost.
  20. I believe it would have a similar cost as awakening a cloth or carpet, which I think was around fifty Breaths. I was mostly thinking of this as something that could be used by small teams of snipers, since if it was implemented over a large army it would be very expensive and likely not worth the effort.
  21. That's the part that I was wondering about. Since an arrow is fairly rigid it wouldn't be moving, and even if the wood did bend it wouldn't have much affect on its accuracy. However, the fletchings of the arrows would potentially be able to move, so I was both wondering if this would have a useful affect on its trajectory.
  22. Can commands influence the behavior of a projectile? If you took an arrow or a spear, and gave it the command "Hit targets that I choose" or something similar would you get an arrow that will always hit its target? If this did work, would the Breath be influencing the arrow itself or the air around the arrow?
  23. That's what I thought as well, but since it has been a while since I read the book I just went with it.
  24. That's along the lines of what I was thinking. If Feruchemy is acquired via Harmonium similar to Lerasium, it could be an interesting explanation for the origin of Feruchemy since we don't have a solid explanation for where it originally came from. If the Lost Metal is Harmonium and it does work this way, it would also fit in the the Set's mission of making powers more available.
