Syl is sufficient. Kaladin isn't friendly, and isn't really down with relaxing and opening up.....the person he felt closest to in Bridge 4 was Moash of all people. I cannot imagine him having too many friends.

Another Kaladin 4th Oath Post....but a little different
Nymeros replied to Pathfinder's topic in Stormlight Archive
I would love it Pathfinder. He's powerful enough physically that he doesnt strictly require it to be relevant in combat and he can develop without it. It will also keep him on an even playing field with his counterpart Moash. Additionally, I prefer Kaladin visually with his blue longcoat...cannot image him in Plate. -
Why Skybreakers are called Skybreakers??
Nymeros replied to Brightness Jencee's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think its pretty simple. Their spren appear as literal breaks in the sky and their powers involve flying and breaking things down. -
Minor Characters you want to see promoted
Nymeros replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Stormlight Archive
Moash/Vyre Leshwi Sigzil Gawx Nale Rock .....In that order. I remember not giving a fig about Spook and then having him become my 2nd favorite character behind only Kelsier, so I'm sure tat even if these guys don't get shine I'll grow to love whoever does. -
I need Vyre to fit in there somewhere. He'll likely be a key view point to from the Singer perspective from the field while Venli will be our point of view from the off the field.

Yes ignore them. If needed, replace Nightblood with an ancient artificial blade created in Roshar by a Herald or something. Easy. Keep all the interesting knicknacks for Mraize....you don't have to know what'd each item is for them to be mysterious and paint him as a collector.

1. Cut Cenn....seriously, forget him. I wouldn't cut the Prelude. The opening can be narrated by Ishar and provide a brief history of Roshar regarding Desolations, Heralds, and the Knights Radiants, and the Parsh (Parshendi are the voidbringers was a not particularly cool twist anyway). Explaining from the jump that humans and Parsh lost their magic and no longer war against one another would bleed directly into the Prologue. Give the first episode an extended opening that includes the results of last Desolation. 2. Sadboi? I've never seen any complaint drawn against a slave for being to dour....have you seen 12 Years a Slave for example? Slaves are like the ultimate underdog and people love rooting for them to kind freedom and justice. 3. Move Jasnah to the Shattered Plain if it's so much trouble. Remove the fake death plot....easy. 4. Find a good artist. Do tests. Find what looks best.....easy. 5. Tone it down or remove it. 6. ?????? 7. Remove it for live action....I'll be sad but there is no other way. If animated, play it straight. If people can jive with elf ears they can jive with Thaylen eyebrows. 8. Yeah they need to be sharp. Yeah, the Cosmere has it easier though because like Game of Thrones, the stories are very well plotted with twists and turns at every point. Game of Thrones shows you don't need all the subtle book foreshadowing for a twist to land (looking at you Red Wedding). Ignore them..... I don't like this show......but look at it! Take that art and animation and add actually good and purposed plotting. It would be glorious

I found an overlap from way back in WoK
Nymeros replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it's more likely that Kaladin read the reports of Dalinar visions that were recorded by Navani.- 6 replies

-I don't recall any feats of impressive skill from Jasnah with regards to her physical martial ability. She just ran fast, jumped high, and blew stuff up with Soulcasting. That said: -Ivory seem a to be a swordsman. He can teach her to effectively use her Blade.

Something I noticed on my OB reread?
Nymeros replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, it was skipped over...most noticed it immediately. Sanderson probably felt the the page time was suited to other things than emotional reunions.......many disagree- 14 replies

I'm all for Gawx bonding the Nightwatcher. I've believed this would happen for quite some time and I cannot think of a better/more interesting choice from who we know.

Also explaining why I found Elokhars death super satisfying.

Favorite Type Of Spren (or maybe envisioning new types)
Nymeros replied to AngryMistspren's topic in Stormlight Archive
Aren't we all? I just wish I could properly articulate what concept they represent. Something to do with how writing pushed civilization forward. My favorite of the sapient spren are the cryptics though....personfications of the underlying mathmetics of the universe? Too cool. Glory spren and awe spren are my favorite non sapient. Love those viauals of miniature suns forming when you do something amazing and your mind blowing when you see something awesome. -
Well first, I do want to see a lot of Venli and i do not see her as a minor character at all. What I don't want to see? - The revelations of Oathbringer being swept under the rug. - Climax Radiant oaths (sprinkle those bad boys throughout) - New worldhoppers

Spiderman, Spiderman. Does whatever a spider can~ Which is my way of asking, shouldn't they be able to wall crawl Spiderman style using increased friction? CrazyRioter has the truth of it....we've pretty much seen a Dustbringer reducing friction for easier movement. Certain surges/powers are just more associated with specific Orders for........reasons. For example, Windrunners and Skybreakers can both fly through Gravitation. However, Windrunners are the much more closely associated with flight and the sky because the have Adhesion to better control their flight patterns and seem to attract windspren where they go. Elsecallers and Willshapers can both travel to Shadesmar using Transportation. However, Elsecallers are more closely associated to that realm and ability because Soulcasting leads to connection to the Shadesmar beads and whatnot. Edgedancers are the all loving hippie healer Order so they would naturally be more associated with grace and speed but I'm sure Dustbringers did the whole ice skating thing.....it's just more noteworthy that they were fairly wild and blew stuff up.

Sadly, I dont believe any book title in the Cosmere will top the Way of Kings....It's just too majestic and epic. This...this nice though. Not only does it reflect the magical Rhythms heard by the Parsh but also could reflect the central theme of the book. Would love a deep dive into the character roles and routines as they adjust to the prolonged conflict between the allied humans and Parsh.

I think that the Adolin and Shallan relationship is going to take a turn that no one is actually expecting.....I don't think it's going to stay as "simple" as it now seems to be. Heck, i dont even think that Shallan is actually in love with Adolin.

Why would Odium choose Vyre to be his champion? Why not one of his ancient voidbringers, or Nale, or anyone more experienced than Moash?

Are the Honorblades *technically* Spren?
Nymeros replied to Fanghur Rahl's topic in Stormlight Archive
^This. An Honorblade isn't "alive" and so would not be considered a spren. -
Much looser. Oathbringer is clear as it was written by a Bondsmith about his life and journey and Way of Kings was written by a king focused on leadership. Words of Radiance is a book that covers general info on the Knights Radiant and is named for them. If i recall correctly, the initial title for Words of Radiance was the Book of Endless Pages and Oathbringer couldve been The Highprince of War so i dont think Brandon Sanderson is trying to make such connections.
-
Oh, that's....loose.
-
What does Words of Radiance have to do with Lightweavers specifically?
