@Spoolofwhool It's not meant to match the setting. It's just a fun idea. Don't worry about the inconsistencies. Please.

Well done. The other answer is that each person sees everyone else painted, and assumes that everyone would be painted, so they all walk out on the first night.- 168 replies

So, I thought of this forum game thing where we think up a plan for defeating Kelsier at the time of the Final Empire. The background: We are a group of strategists working for Lord John Ovden (don't ask, the name is a personal joke). We know that Kelsier will attack the Keep. He will have all ten metals that he knows of. We have a little less Atium than him. However, we are also defenseless, with no Allomancers or Feruchemists. Suddenly, a figure approaches, and makes an offer. He will provide us with eight Twinborn. We can choose which kinds we want, but we are limited to ten metals. What Twinborn should we use, and how should we use them to defeat Kelsier? (HoA spoilers)

Okay, I got BoM and M:SH yesterday, and I read them. Yeah, both of them. I'm reading The Dark Talent today, and after this it'll just be White Sand and some short stories of his that I haven't read. After reading them, I get even more of an impression that Brandon subconsciously based Kelsier on Moist von Lipwig from Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

How exaggeratedly important are the leaders of the set?

(Minor WoK spoilers, as well as M:SH and minor Elantris spoilers.) -
If it's radioactive, It's likely to be Francium or Radium. Francium is the least electronegative of all the elements. It has the downside of being poisonously radioactive however. Same with Radium.

Request: Campaign to crackdown on/encourage use of spoiler tags
JUQ replied to Argel's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
I am one of the offenders with the Mistborn Era 1 spoiler you mentioned. In future, I will make sure not to refer to anything that can be a spoiler without using tags or hidden content. I believe that people should refer to what is being spoiled in the hidden content. Examples: (Mistborn Era 1 spoiler) (Bands of Mourning spoiler) -

You misunderstand. There is at least one guy who IS blue. All of these don't stand up under scrutiny. You're still thinking along the wrong lines with pink blue brown.- 168 replies

I was matching your reference with a different one of my own.

You've made your decision then?

I believe I may have met your match. The only thing I can do is ask you why you aren't running for president? Of course, it is entirely possible that you are Donald Trump, but your profile says you are a muslim, so it doesn't appear to be so. That raises an interesting possibility, however. You could, in fact, be insecure as a muslim and therefore make hate speech about them (as Donald Trump).

Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
JUQ replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
I dunno. I can't really offer much support, because I only know what you're missing out on. I personally have very supportive parents, and I live in the same town as them and usually see them weekly. In your situation I wouldn't go, because there's simply no reason for you to do so. Don't attempt to hide anything about it, and be honest with your parents, and say something like, "I don't believe that it would be the ideal situation for all of us if I came." IDK, but I've always believed that brutal honesty is always the best policy. However, as I said, I can't identify with your situation at all because my parents are wonderful people. All I can do is offer my (probably worthless) advice. -
Having a Bad Day?: Get 'yer Hugs here!!
JUQ replied to Curious Anamaximder's topic in General Discussion
Indeed, your situation could be a lot worse. However, it could also be much, much better. Saying, "Well, Twi's got a difficult life, but it could be a lot worse so we don't need to support her," is like saying, "The Terrismen are oppressed by TLR, but the skaa have it a lot worse so there's no need to worry about them." -
Hmmm, interesting, but I don't think you fully understand the greater implications of simple day-to-day decisions.

@Ardjet and @Darkness Ascendant, you're both missing the point. The point is that Demoux's principles don't really align with those of the 17th Shard.
-
We see that one of the members of the 17th Shard is Demoux. We also know that Frost is likely the leader of the 17th, and he is insistent on non-intervention. However, these facts don't work out for me, because Demoux was a staunch Survivorist last time we saw him, and Kelsier is well known for sticking his nose where he shouldn't. If Demoux follows Kelsier that much, what led him to join the 17th Shard? Also, please put anything for books I haven't mentioned in the tags in spoilers. I know this forum isn't as strict as the others, but I really don't want to have BoM or M:SH spoiled.
