  1. Have you seen him in the Going Postal movie? It was the worst three hours of my life watching Pratchett's marvelous creation get ripped apart, but Dance as Vetinari was the only shining light in the process. But yes, Straff is not nearly as clever as Vetinari or Tywin Lannister. Cett is a good idea too.
  2. @TwiLyghtSansSparkles As someone who has extremely supportive parents and relies on them daily, I feel very sorry for you! *hugs* EDIT: Wow, I can't believe I thought people would take me seriously. I'm not even sure what I was trying to prove.
  3. You mention cancer, but you fail to see the immense benefits of the Inkwizishon. I've begun to believe I've missed my calling. I should have been a politician.
  4. OP appears to be attempting to Compound posting I see...
  5. Girl, someone lashed us together. I can't wait to Awaken our relationship. My heart has just begun tapping iron.
  6. Anyway, no-one's answered either of my riddles. So, another one for you fellers: What starts it's life pink, becomes blue in the middle, and then goes brown at the end. (This one's very tricky; if it hasn't been guessed in a couple of days, I'll reveal the answer to y'all. You will probably be very angry with me.)
  7. Now I have to find a way to take that from you with Hemalurgy. @Darkness Ascendant it may not be possible due to the fact that Nightblood kills people's souls (I think).
  8. I believe you may have stumbled upon something that is every evil genius' dream.
  9. Nope, sorry. Whole temporal realities are hard to come by these days
  10. Wrong for the first, I'm afraid. For the second, you're on the right track, but you need to be more specific with your questions. Everyone knows that time flies. The other answers are Helicopters, Iron/Steel Mistings, Mistborn, Windrunners, and Bondsmiths.
  11. I have to think about it a bit more, but I think that's about right. What's your reasoning? Bonus points if you can find the half-trick answer. The beggar was female. Now, another one. There are ten people in a room. Nine are 'togglers' - they will switch between telling lies and telling the truth, and vise versa with every statement. The other person tells the truth all of the time. You may ask two questions to anyone in the room, or a question to two people, in order to determine who is the truth-teller. How do you set about your investigation?
  12. I already knew this one. You forgot 'Arnold Schwarzenegger has a long one.' The answer, of course, is a surname. Alright, try this one... 100 perfect logicians are in a room. They can all see each other, but not themselves. They are not aloud to talk to one another. There is no way to cheat. They are told that at least one of them has their forehead painted blue. The lights are left on for a time, then they are turned off. When the lights are turned off, anyone who has realized they have a blue forehead must walk out. The lights are then turned on again, and the process repeats. If they all have blue foreheads and infallible powers of logic, what will happen? (There's actually two answers for this one, but one of them is sort of a trick answer.)
  13. I heard there was a Mistborn PC game called Birthright that was shelved, which is a shame because the series has great potential as a game. The purpose of this thread is to theorize on possible control methods for each of the metals (assuming it's an action game). My view on the game is that a player will control an Allomancer (maybe a Feruchemist) and fight enemies. Because of the large amount of things an Allomancer can do, it seems that a player would need four hands just to control the physical metals! Therefore, here is my rough take on it: The game should be set in Era 1, with a player controlling either Kelsier/Vin in an overthrow game, or a nobleman in a house war game. This means that there is only nine metals to contend with (Gold is useless). I have no concept on Atium, so I shall ignore it for now. For the others, the player should have one key to press. The longer the key is pressed, the greater intensity of burn. When the key is pressed again, the metal stops burning. (Option 1). Because zinc and brass (as an aside, I've never liked having brass here, because it is an alloy of copper) are rarely used (except if Vin is fighting Koloss, but an overthrow game would remove this aspect), they can be removed from the game. Copper is generally left burning, as is tin, so they could be activated/deactivated by a single key. For iron and steel, I think using shift and control to activate them would be a good idea, and the mouse can be used to select which line to Push/Pull. The spacebar or similar could be used to throw a coin. Beyond this, I have no other ideas. (Option 2). So, what do y'all think?
  14. Because all the Talents derive from the breaking Talent, and Adonalsium was Shattered. I think Brandon was describing the Intent of the Talents. I don't believe there is a Shard called Betrayal (though it is possible). I've always believed that with the Alcatraz and the Reckoners series he was exploring the theme of corrupting power. theofficetroll seems to confirm my answer:
  15. I feel your pain. I've made puns that I felt worse afterwards than if I murdered my family.
