  1. I Just caught up on the thread and we'll... That happened. In the spirit of reveals I am not a thief. I cannot, however, say anything on the behalf of Lenny. I rolled a d20 just now to determine who to vote for and came up with MacThorstein. That wasn't effective. It looks like our neighborhood scary man isn't long for this game, but I'm going to vote for Jondesu on gut feelings. I realize it isn't fair to him, but I don't think it really puts you in danger of the lynch either. Edit: while writing this, you gained enough votes to be up for the lynch. Hmm. I think I'll leave my vote working toward having the elusive tie, but if you get higher than Alv, I'll do what I can for the gods of luck and chance Edit: painting the voters red
  2. Yeah, sorry. That was the plan the whole time. It was my best idea for stopping the gun... I'm definitely going for it today though Also, mr. Sneaky guy, please use the map. Lenny likes things.
  3. First and foremost Awwwwwww! Well, i was going to vote on steeldancer, but I have to say this is concerning. That lynch flipped very quickly. I believe Orlock is village, so I won't be voting on him either. I have more to say, but a lot of what I'm thinking will either be obsolete, false or irrelevant in a half hour. That being said, Steel's playstyle has definitely changed from the last two games when we were both elims. I'm more suspicious of MacThorstenson for his sporadic votes. I haven't found his reasons very reasonable and the only pattern I can see in his posts is to vote for the person most likely to die.
  4. Hmm. While you are right that the village and eliminators have more information in the moment, the possibility of lying removes that upside and downside. Given that it is announced in the writeup who took what, that seems like the only check we need on knowing what items were given to whom. The possible upside of coordinating beforehand only extends to making sure everyone gets something, but that nullifies the whole ability given to the quicks. The exception being with the gun(s) which have a much more costly effect attached than ending up empty handed. In fact, ending up empty handed on the gun seems like the ideal outcome. Hence I have announced my run for the gun. Outside that, I don't feel like it's super relevant who ends up with crabs or the map. We'll be told in the thread who has what, and they can be held accountable for misuse. **of course, Lenny should end up with all the items. That's the only way that's truly fair for everyone else.
  5. Lenny tried to listen as everyone talked, but there were so many good things just sitting there. He looked hungrily at the map to yet another stockpile of goods just like these. Lenny was going to need to dig a bigger hole. Someone in the corner of the room spoke up suddenly snapping Lenny's attention back to the conversation. "Give it to me of course." "Why do you deserve the gun?" Lenny asked incredulously. "Does anyone else think it's weird they'd leave 16 of us out here with only one gun? I deserve to live as much as any of you, so I'll take the gun!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I volunteer as tribute. I'm going to try for the gun. If I somehow get it, I'll save it for later in the game or give it to someone I trust. I suggest other villagers don't go for it. If any eliminators fight me for the gun whether I die or they die, the gun is gone and they don't get it.
  6. Lenny didn't like being called slow. Even if he couldn't read, he was just as sharp with a gun as anyone else. "Anyone seen Lenny?" a voice in the camp asked. It was Drake. Lenny didn't have any problems with Drake, but he did have one of Drake's knives. That would have to stay hidden until Lenny was transferred. Lenny took one last longing glance at his accumulated treasures, then replaced the tarp and pushed in the dirt he'd displaced to make his little cache. Once he was satisfied no one else would be able to tell the place, Lenny marked the grave by stacking three little rocks on top of each other and pushing the bottom on into the ground until it was nearly buried. Then, he hustled back into camp. It didn't take long to find Drake. He was hovering near the pile of new treasures. He seemed to be arguing over the gun with the other soldiers. "You wanted to see me, sir?" Lenny asked. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again I'm sorry for any flavor I get wrong. I'm just trying to be better about rp in these games. So, what say we have everyone jump at the gun and let the gods of Luck and Chance decide the game? I just had to get that off my chest. While that would be mad fun, we probably ought to work more delicately than that. I shared the same feeling as A Joe In The Bush, but since you're already headed for the map it's all yours. We can work from there.
  7. Hooray, more players! Here's a question for you, Sart. How many actions do we have per cycle? If it's one that means we can either take an item from the supply, or use an item, or give an item, or steal an item, or use the eliminator kill. Am I missing anything? Or does this mean using an item doesn't count as an action? Doe this mean a.) it won't protect from a double tap i.e. a gun wound and the eliminator kill on the same cycle. b.) you are unable to have 2 acid at the same time. or c.) you are unable to use 2 acid for the duration of the game. Also, does this passive extra life protect from the fight over the gun? Okay, so that was a few questions. I apologise to anyone who was hoping to use any of this information they had obtained secretly as an advantage, but I think these are important enough to the basic gameplay that we need them answered in the thread.
  8. Welcome to the games. May the odds be ever in your favor I'd like to join. I'm not familiar with the rithmatist books, so I apologize if my character doesn't end up fitting, but I'll do my best. Lenny couldn't read. That didn't bother him though. News spread fast enough in the camp that reading really wasn't necessary. What Lenny did like was collecting things. Sometimes he was sneakier than other times, but he usually ended up with what he wanted... even if it took a couple tries. As the others in his unit pushed to be able to read the orders for themselves, Lenny occupied himself by trying to figure out how to steal Thorstein's watch. Their anxious chatter settled to a mere hum in Lenny's ears as he pictured himself wearing that watch. Lenny looked so sleek and stylish. Plus it would go well with all the other watches Lenny had collected. Of course, he couldn't wear a few of them... yet. At least not until their owners were transferred. Or died. It was better when they died. He didn't have to worry about running into them and being caught with their hat... Or their shoes... Or, on a more embarrassing occasion, their false leg. It was settled then. He'd slip the watch off as the soldiers rushed out of the room when they were dismissed. The tumult should provide the cover he needed, and Thorstein wouldn't even realize it was Lenny who took it. It was perfect. "Staying?!" One of the soldiers exclaimed. Huh. Was that what all the fuss was about? That's not so bad. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As might be apparent, I am really excited about this item mechanic. Also, whether I am an eliminator or not, I'm going to try to be more active in personal messages and role plays than I have been in the past. This is an intentional shift in play style and I'm announcing it now so I don't hinder the village later if I'm good. ( Or to hinder the village later if I'm bad :P)
  9. Arinian has felt off for most of the game to me. He's been posting often enough, but it's mostly been one or two sentence posts voting for people without giving reasons. I'm a little suspicious of Walin, but if Arinian turns out to be an eliminator it clears him a little more for me based on Arinians earlier vote. I'm sorry for my lack of eloquence. I had RP and a full analysis of why Arinian is most likely an eliminator and my internet ate it.
  10. Gio entered the main room quietly hoping no one would notice he'd been absent for a day. He knew about Breeze's strict policy of not leaving in the middle of a job, but in Gio's opinion, all jobs ought to be put on hold until the ministry infiltrators were discovered and killed. On top of that, Gio didn't want to be around when heads started rolling in case his own was on the menu. Upon entering, he hoped to find the rowdy crew celebrating the expulsion of the ministry. The dour mood of the room was a clear indicator otherwise. He glanced around the room looking for Nils. She always seemed to know what was going on. After a few minutes without any sign of her, he asked another member where she was. All this earned Gio was a scowl. Clearly he needed to be more careful about what he talked about. -------------------------------------------- I love your enthusiasm Arinian, but I'm not sure that his holiness Chance is on our side this game. (I'm sure I'll eat those words when they both turn out to be ministry plants, though) Edit: ninja'd by Alvron. Does this mean the gods of light and dark have ended their feud?
  11. Gio walked openly through Luthadel. Not one for hiding, he simply acted as though he belonged and generally people let him be. Of course, allomancy may have had a little to do with that. As he travelled back to his humble shack, he pondered over the emergency meeting Breeze had called. "Ministry Plants" Breeze had said. Among a rioting/soothing crew? These plants must have been good. Gio kicked a rock as he walked along, leaving patterns in the ever growing ashpiles. He was crossing near the center of Luthadel where the streets were cleared slightly more often. He felt brave for doing so. Of course he didn't risk getting too close to the ministry. He'd heard rumors that obligators could smell allomancy on a man. He shuddered at the thought and pushed it to the back of his mind. Gio tried instead to think of the upcoming job Breeze had the crew working on, but his mind kept wandering back to the members of the crew. "Who is the plant?" --------------------------------------------- A couple thoughts: poke votes operate differently this game in that they present a real possibility of lynching the player. Since every vote can kill and there can be multiple lynched players per cycle we should consider removing poke votes toward the close of cycles to prevent killing several players at a time. Although, I suppose this will open up a way to sift through people who are inactive as well. I also recommend that anger rioters find someone they trust to pair up with so they can collaborate on likely ministry plants as opposed to killing randomly.
  12. That's fair enough. I'll sign on as Gio. That should be more distinct but close enough for the little troll inside me to be satisfied.
  13. Haha, guess this is my opportunity to be Joe (not in the bush) since you're committed to killing those two first. I'll sign up!
  14. I really enjoyed this game. May Luck and Chance reign forever. I'm sorry I wasn't more active. I was kind of hoping the when Steel voted for me, I would die because I felt that would have cemented him as village, but even so, without those two true shots, it was going to be a close game. I think if the eliminators had ended up with one of those two guns it would have been much closer, so the balance seemed fine. I kind of wanted the arms dealer gone as soon as possible to prevent guns altogether. I suppose we should have tried instead to obtain the guns because if we had acquired two of them, the game was solved for the eliminator team. Special thanks to Alvron for keeping the game so lighthearted. Beautiful shooting village and great game Jondesu!
  15. Well, as fun as this whole tie thing has been, and as appreciative as I am about the gods of chance sparing me; I don't think we can afford to keep it up. I'll put Ornstein up as a vote when the new day comes up.
  16. Wait, I'm alive? I knew praying to the gods of chance would pay off. All hail Chance!
  17. We found a traitor? Yes! Sorry, new years happened in a bigger way than I thought. I'm back now though. I'll be going through the thread to catch up.
  18. haha I guess I asked for that one. I totally forgot that that was the same player. XD Looks like the dream may stay alive though for a thirteen way tie. Plus, with Walin's vote I believe we are already up to five. Also @Walin thank you for the response, I look forward to playing more of these games with you.
  19. "Ornstein, Ornstein" Lamar the parrot cried. (wait, did the final empire have parrots? It doesn't seem like they would) In any case, it's a good point that it is important to keep people who are more active alive at this point and it doesn't look like my poke at Asterion is going anywhere.
  20. Wow, that pokevote was super effective! Walin. Let's try that again. Arinian, are you still around?
  21. I know I'm not really one to talk, but I'd like to give a shout out to @A Budgie @Walin @Ornstein @Arinian. I haven't really played enough with any of you to know your playstyles, but please chime in with any insights you might have. As for my analysis, I have a slight eliminator read on Alvron, but I can't find much to support that. Plus, I am really enjoying his playstyle. I might join in on that revelry. As for Drake, Kynedath and Randuir, I haven't found anything they have said to be particularly bad. On top of that, It would be a shame to lynch any of them as they are a large part of the thread. I'll throw a vote out to Walin. You were fairly active day one, but we haven't heard from you since. I'm not sure if you just don't know what to say or if you need a nudge back into the conversation. I guess there's your four-way tie for now as well, Alvron.
  22. Should we start with the traditional discussion of whether to lynch someone on day one? It fascinates me that although it seems this discussion comes up in most games, I think every game I have played we end up lynching someone anyway. I suppose that could be because fourteen of us could agree to lynch no one, but the remaining three only have to agree on any one player and there would still be a lynch. Asterion137, You were bad in LG40, so you couldn't possibly be bad in LG41 right?
  23. Sorry Jondesu, I'm back from holidays and I'm going to have to go with Kharaght for the excellent explanation for the name. Thanks Darkness! As far as day one lynches go, I feel where Kynedath is coming from. It's no fun to get kicked from an awesome game on day one. That said, it looks like we have no choice in the matter. I'm okay with the tie and I'll throw out A Joe In the Bush, who has yet to post. Who knows, we might get a fifteen way tie after all. ninja'd by Steeldancer and Alvron... guess we have three. Does anyone else want to nominate someone random. We're working with zero information right now anyway.
