  1. Hmm. that doesn't sound plausible for this game. Maybe they would have to vote for each living player? That would mean an 11 turn clock with the extra vote per turn with their aspect. Alternatively, they could have to create an aspect of themselves on each world. This I find even less likely as that means a seven turn clock, but is easily hosed by Ruin. Ah. I misread the rules post. bold mine I read this as: the aspect only survives one cycle. I think they will need to have a living aspect on every world, which gives us six turns if we just let the aspects live. Also, please Kriss, if you get that far, wait to invest anything into Nalthis. Autonomy being able to harvest investiture from Nalthis and immediately spend it on extra votes would be bad. One more theory about Autonomy and I'll get off this soapbox. They might also have the win condition to outnumber the other three factions by using their aspects. This would provide us with more time before Autonomy became a threat. I'm still guessing it's the aspect on each world, which we can keep in check via the lynch. @Seonid, Do the aspects on the player list count against the Adolnasium's Chosen and Standard of Harmony win conditions, because if that's the case it would be very helpful to leave a few of these alive.
  2. Did anyone besides Autonomy leave Silverlight? It may sound like a distraction, but I think there is information available that we aren't trying to find. I will volunteer that I did not leave. Also, What has Autonomy's win condition been in previous games? We've talked about the other three freed shards, do we have a reason for concern over Autonomy beyond them having three or four votes on cycle two? (depending on whether the aspect also gets its vote doubled).
  3. Ahah! I figured it out. Pyromancer and Steel are the same person. Wow. You weren't kidding. That is good stuff. Thank you for the recommendation. I may not fully understand the dangers of pm's, but I think there are other shards I'd be more afraid of Adolnasium''s Chosen or Standard of Harmony gaining control of. Also going back to my point from Night 0 before reset, if we want to coordinate, I'm in favor of trying to get as many people charges of investiture as possible. I understand this kind of coordination has issues and it let's the evil teams pick and choose which shards are released, but I think there is information to be gleaned from which shards they choose to release and we have a better idea of to whom the shards may have gone. Seeing as how this is an unpopular opinion, I will just recommend everyone go for different shards. Get your IKYK's on how many are going for Cultivation, and try to get some kind of investiture because I like the idea of having some ability almost guaranteed over having a small chance of getting a lot of power. I had a fourth thought, but I can't remember and need to go. If I remember I'll post it later.
  4. Well, MonsterMetroid and stick. If either of you are willing to switch, we can have a lynch.
  5. Well, I'm not sure where to go with this. I think it is necessary to have a day one lynch. I believe Fifth Scholar is 17th shard and TheYoungPyromancer is survival. And... Seonid posted an up to date vote count. Thank you, that saves me a lot of time. From Fifth Scholar's post earlier where he did deep analysis on Hemalurgic Headshot, I believed HH had been converted to one of the other teams. However, his response felt very village to me. He sounded very sincere and frustrated and I figured my reasons for voting were tunnel-y. Going back and rereading both posts now I realized something. Fifth Scholar brought up this post: That comment still feels odd for me. Until just recently none of the shard knew who the other shards were so the only people who have communication for "careful planning" are the two eliminator factions. When he responded to Scholar's post, HH called out two other comments from Scholar's post that I didn't find suspicious. However, the post seemed to side step this comment that felt like a lot bigger issue. So for now Hemalurgic Headshot. @Hemalurgic Headshot ------------------------------------------------------ Edited for formatting Also in response to Drake's post; I have had a very village gut read of Arinian this game... which is weird. I think I have never had a good gut read for Arinian in any game we have played together. He must be Hoid or Kriss . I may switch my vote over to Arinian if it looks like we have a chance of lynching someone, because at least that way we get some information.
  6. Fwew finally caught up. Unfortunately that took most of my time for this morning. I jotted down general impressions which I'll post as well as a vote tally. I'll be back later tonight to flesh these accusations out but for now: Elbereth - village read Mage - minor village read Fifth - very slight village read HH - minor elim read Stick - minor elim read Monster - minor hoid read Pyromancer - minor kriss read Also, here is a vote tally and a promise to be back on to vote with reasons (probably for one of those four). Devotary (1): Bard1, Elbereth, Monster Straw (0): Bard2 Shanerockes (0): Magestar Magestar (0): Orlock1, Pyromancer1 Pyromancer (1): Drake, Orlock2 Elbereth (0): Pyromancer2, Jondesu Scholar (1): Pyromancer3 Bard (1): Scholar Drought (1): Bard3 Or to be more clear: Devotary (1): Elbereth Pyromancer (1): Orlock Scholar (1): Pyromancer Bard (1): Scholar Drought (1): Bard
  7. Haha. I had to read this a couple times to understand what you were saying. As far as whether we reveal what investiture we are siphoning. I think I understand why the 17th shard (it feels weird calling us the village in this particular game) would want to keep that information hidden. If i understand correctly, the downside is when and if the shards are released, Hoid and Kriss have a better shot at converting someone who is holding a shard before they change win conditions and thus add a shard to their team. However, if we all were committed to our sudden death win condition, we could agree to return the shard immediately (before we could be targeted by Hoid or Krissala ipso facto our win condition is still 17th shard) and thus nullify that danger. There are currently enough shards in containment that the twenty of us that are not Hoid or Kriss can take one charge each and still not release a single shard from containment. This works in our favor in a few different ways. 1 Hoid and Kriss out themselves if they are the only two who do not take a charge. This requires Survival to take a charge to prove that Hoid and Kriss in fact did not take any. Also, we need the full team to take an action this turn. We have about ten hours left to make this coordination work. 2 Hoid and Kriss take a charge. This releases one or two shards. The downside here is they might not have been a part of the siphoners who released the shard. This is where the commitment to put the shard back becomes very important. The real benefit here, is Hoid and Kriss lose their opportunity to convert on the first night which could pose a serious handicap to their team. We could even take the second option further by attacking those who do not return their shard. This is only if we are married to our sudden death win condition, which is farther than I want to go. I'm a little torn on this point because I want to be honest and play to my immediate win condition. This is the best way I can figure to ensure my team (and the majority of the players) win the game. In the interest of fun, I (and I imagine a lot of you) am playing this game because I want to play with a shard. Playing strictly to my win condition seems less good here as any of us could be crippling ourselves later. I endorse using this claiming strategy for exactly this cycle so as put both Adolnasium's Chosen and Standard of Harmony one turn behind, then figuring it out from there. As my part of this plan I will announce I would like to siphon a charge of Ambition for obvious reasons, but since that is such a popular charge I will instead siphon a charge of Odium. Now to read the page and a half of ninja's...
  8. Hidden Information game, eh? I'll jump in. Alethi only in blood, Lej'elin's home was conquered when he only four years old by the Blackthorne himself. The city lord, having seen the attack as imminent and absolute, sent women and children away to return to their homes when the battle was over. Unfortunately, the city was leveled by the Kholin's armies. With no home to return to, the two score survivors of the battle led the nearly three hundred women and infants as they searched for a new home. As they traveled, those who survived the unforgiving storms and weren't picked off by Kholin scouting patrols struggled with hunger and thirst. Eventually, Lej'elin's mother succumbed to the conditions and died. A mighty man, Arkanor, took Lej'elin under his wing. Arkanor was one of the few survivors from the battle that destroyed his home and a war hero from previous skirmishes. Though he was strong, he was also kind and gentle. Lej'elin lost all hope when the high storm took Arkanor from him. Over time, the small party of vagabonds joined with others and by the time Lej'elin was six he was disgusted with the entire Alethi race. He finally found passage on a ship that took him to Kharbranth. Life was tough, but he apprenticed himself to a bookseller (and even began to learn to read). That was ten years ago. Now seventeen years of age, he's ready to make a difference. TL;DR: Lej'elin hates Alethi and doesn't trust you.
  9. I'm still most suspicious of Arinian, but I'm interested to see what happens to the rest of the votes without me putting him out of the range of the captain save. I'll vote for Bort again. No one has taken a very detailed look at Bort yet (probably because there has not been a whole lot to look at). I know I'm not one to talk, but this vote doesn't put him on the block for the lynch either. It just keeps me alive for this cycle. Votes (Please Copy and Paste this when you make a vote!): Shqueeves (2): Drought, Brightness Radiant Devotary (1): Lopen Mac (2): Len, Monster Drought (2): Arinian, Coop Elenion (1): Bort Joe (1): Devotary Arinian (3): Ripple, Shqueeves, Mac Bort: Legend
  10. All right, I'm back and caught up. I'm not sure why, but Arinian always feels elim to me. For that reason alone I don't want to vote for him. On top of that, I don't have any real evidence against him so I don't want to lynch him and have him turn out to be good. Straw(4) Monster, Joe, Mac, Elenion Mac(3) Ripple, Straw, Shqueeves Shqueeves(3) Devotary, Coop, Brightness Arinian(2) Drought, Mac Drought(1) Arinian Devotary(2) Lopen, Legend Elenion(1) Ecthelion Ripple(1) Bort Darn. I was hoping to do this vote tally to find the person to send for the gods of luck and chance, but the person I would put up from this list is Arinian as well. Drought also made a good point about elim vote cancelers (which I am neither confirming nor denying the existence of in this game) would taint the purity of our offering. In the interest of staying alive I'll vote for Devotary. I've got a slight elim read and I think it's just because I disagree with you on the use of awakeners. I understand your argument that eliminators might want the awakeners to claim so as to kill them quickly, but if we never end up asking the awakeners, we miss out on a lot of valuable information. As a word of advice. I would ask any awakeners to pick the two or three people they trust the most to claim to and wait until the very end of the cycle to tell each of them who the other was. That way the eliminator team wouldn't have enough time to switch the kill over to the other trusted person/people.
  11. Well, I was working on the same thing Lopen was and now I'm just going to throw it off again. That was really funny that Bort had already voted for me when I voted for him. I promise it was just a coincidence. I'll send Roid back to the Gods of Chance. That means we have a tie among Arinian, Lopen, Randuir, and Monster. Of those four I have the most village read of Lopen and the most elim read of Randuir. Unfortunately I don't have good reasons for either, so I am happy to let chance decide fate. Alas, I just got a new job and I won't have time to RP like I wanted to. I'll have to bring Lucky back for another game. Sorry, Joe. I started probably five or six posts during the pregame to join in, but something always came up. I will, however, still make time to post and will analyze as much as I can.
  12. I'm catching up on the thread right now. I'll vote on Bort for being the sixth player to sign up. That vote will change before the cycle ends.
  13. I'm not sure lynching a stick kills it. I'll vote Mafia. Orlock
  14. Well, congratulations Orlock you've won the game. Now let's remove the Tormanders for good.
  15. Welcome back @shanerockes. I definitely wasn't trying to get you lynched... Nope. Not me.
  16. Lucky turned to the man sitting on the log next to him. "The name's Lucky. What got you stuck out here?"
  17. Dang it, Drought. (4) No Lynch: Bugsy, Jondesu, Droughtbringer, Walin (3) DroughtBringer: Araris, Straw, Fifth Scholar, LivingLegend, Straw(2), Eternum, LivingLegend(2) (1) Mafia: Sart (2) Shanerockes: Stick, Megasif, (2) Walin: Devotary of Sponteneity, TheMightyLopen Also, Just for my interest: (4) No lynch: Tormander, Ffnord, Tormander, Heatherlocke (3) Tormander: Heatherlocke, Heatherlocke, Ffnord (1) Heron: Ffnord (2) Ffnord: Heron, Tormander (2) Heatherlocke: Heron, Tormander
  18. (2) No Lynch: Bugsy, Jondesu (3) DroughtBringer: Araris, Straw, Fifth Scholar, LivingLegend, Straw(2), Eternum (1) Mafia: Sart (2) Shanerockes: Stick, Megasif, (2) Walin: Devotary of Sponteneity, TheMightyLopen This is what we have so far. Admittedly, I am sad we have shunned the gods of Luck and Chance so that ties mean no one gets lynched. Having said that, Drought's idea doesn't looks like it'll happen, so I don't feel the need to lynch him. @shanerockes, however, still hasn't showed up. I propose we switch over to them as they really haven't added anything to the discussion. @Droughtbringer, I know you want the pacifist route, but now would be a good time to vote for Shanerockes.
  19. Who says kandra aren't part of the game? But more seriously, I'm not interested in the pacifist ending. Welcome Megasif. Glad to have you! Also Droughtbringer
  20. We'll, Olaf, as a Ffnord I would normally lean village. However, that's exactly what you would want me to think. No false sense of security for me. We should definitely lynch you for being part of the Illuminati
  21. Fifth scholar is starting a bandwagon. He must be an eliminator
  22. Hmm. This looks like a good opportunity to hash this issue out. Let's decide this the only way SE players know how. I'll put myself up for the lynch, but I'm voting for Droughtbringer. If I'm lynched then it must be the will of the council to become kandra. If not, we will go back to murdering each other like civilized people. Edit: triple ninja. Theory confirmed?
  23. So much yes. This looks amazing! I will bring back Jonas as he seems perfect for all the stabbings in the backs. Edit: I got so excited I forgot to say I prefer longer lynch discussions and will thus vote for longer day cycles
