I love reading them, and I've managed to devour the last two Stormlight books in one sitting/day when they've come out xD But I listen to audiobooks while I drive, so I tend to listen to them more simply because of that, and my hour-long drive to and from work every day.

I think Asmodean was liked by a lot of people as someone to finally teach Rand what the hell he was doing with Saidin, and being almost 100% (albeit unwillingly) on his side, while everyone else was trying to twist him one way or another, or bully him etc.

I actually just realised something... Even if Dalinar or Jasnah, or the other Highprinces, want to execute Szeth for Gavilar's assassination... He's too valuable, since he's trained with the other Honourblades and can become a teacher/advisor to almost every type of Radiant, especially those who will have no idea how to control their powers.

I know you said that you didn't want to use Vampires, and this is something I'm actually planning to use in one of my projects, but... Vampires as the ones who run the banks - Blood banks. Called "Fatbats" instead of fat-cats, and seen a leeching on the blood of others in more ways than one.

That actually brings up the question of out of body experiences in the Cosmere... could you become a Cognitive Shadow temporarily, without dying? And if I recall rightly, there's a WOB about the beads saying it's not just to do with currency, but RAFO... I imagine something like that will probably be in the back five of Stormlight, but I could be completely wrong there. .... I wonder what the Cognitive Realm of Patji looks like...

But I've eliminated Vin so she can numb his emotions with Duralamin Soothing, and then preferably impale him through the arse with a Koloss sword. I think that'd occur with Vin after about 20 seconds of being in his company, maybe a minute depending on how patient she can be. Who would you want to open a small business with, and what kind of business?

Are Orcs used for menial labour and construction jobs, the blue collar workers? And occassionally one of them rises up and discovers that their lack of intellect is partly due to lack of access to education? Are the Dwarves railroad barons? There's a lot of potential in this kind of setting ^^

I always imagine the mist as pure white, wisps and curls of it, overlapping one another, not like a bank of fog but more like individual swirls and distinct patterns....

Putting your own spin on things is always something that's up to personal tastes... In the project I'm currently working on, I'm planning to have Druids and Elves essentially be hippies and naturalists. ^^ I think it'll be a rather fun spin on it... For myself, in your setting, I'd suggest maybe having Elves be big on Homeopathy and Holistic cures, perhaps sometimes offering magical drugs or being the ones in charge of a magical/medicinal marijuana industry? Integrate them into the society more than just "Yeah, they exist, here they are" etc. Just a suggestion off the top of my head (Which I may use myself in the future...)
