  1. It's really just speculation at this point. As this theory requires, there is a possibility that Odium wins at the end of SA5 or in some other way is freed from the bindings and goes to Scadrial. However, as you say, then there would need to be a change of villains in SA6-10. The other main possibility is Autonomy, though despite the reasonings, there does seem little probability for that, so really, we don't have anything firm since we don't know much. Hopefully Lost Metal will give us some better leads.
  2. Because the metal Bleeder's spikes were made from was from a shard we are aware of and Autonomy is the only other shard we're aware of which we think could be there to influence events, other than Odium.
  3. We don't know when he received the soulcaster. In fact, I think you may have misunderstood the theory a bit since it postulates that the soulcaster only existed after Shallan killed her mother, as after that moment Pattern disappeared from our knowledge for 10 years. The theory is that Pattern was used in the construction of the soulcaster, therefore the soulcaster couldn't exist before that point. In any case, if you read my most post before this one, I provided a WoB which explained where Pattern was during this time.
  4. Yes, some of them were there before Honor and Cultivation, formed from ambient investiture remaining.
  5. My thoughts are that given time, an unheld shard would splinter similarly to how Odium splintered Honor, just given a longer time. The result would've been then something like Roshar, where a number of cognitive entities exist as a result of some measure of sentience taken by the fragments of power. The small fragment of each splinter which leaks into the Cognitive Realm develops into the cognitive aspect, with sentience. That last part is just a guess, but maybe in general, the extra innate investiture required for sentience and sapience is so that enough investiture leaks from the spiritual into the cognitive and develops the cognitive aspect.
  6. When you're new to the shard and find Theoryland with all its WoBs... well, reading makes afternoons seem shorter.
  7. Slight sidetrack, but I find it interesting that Brandon describes Frost as having been born a functional immortal, when the first letter describes the recipient in a manner which implies that they only recently became immortal, at least, a new state since the last time the two people corresponded. Perhaps the recipient is not Frost after all or Brandon changed his mind slightly.
  8. Brandon implies though that the there is only one main exception to the fact of a shard's power is located within the spiritual realm, the Dor. Considering the specific WoB was discussing Harmony, right before he said that, it seems unlikely then that Harmony's power would be in the cognitive realm. Also, there is the fact that Hoid is known to have used allomancy in SA, and if indeed Harmony's combined power of shards is in the cognitive realm, that would be impossible due to the location restrictions of it. Therefore, it seems more likely that the power is still in the spiritual realm. Yes, he doesn't confirm that Hoid
  9. I see. Actually though, disregard everything I've said in response to you. They were made under the mistaken belief that you were the OP for some reason I can't fathom. As such, nothing they say is pertinent.
  10. Actually, update. I checked Way of Kings for the specific passage where Honor named himself the creator of humans, and it turns out he didn't name himself that. He identified himself as the one [Dalinar] calls the Almighty, creator of Mankind. As such, it appears that the creator of humans is a Vorin title for Honor, not a title he has bestowed on himself. The passage: It is ambiguous I admit. It can be either "the creator of mankind" describing Almighty, that people call him, or himself. Personally, I think it is describing Almighty, particularly since I'm 90% certain I read somewhere that humans were brought to Roshar from another place, and I feel like it was an official source.
  11. The effect of Shades on Threnody was not as a result of a shard's power though. It has been described more as a natural effect owing to ambient investiture from its creation.
  12. He did claim it, yes. At a Cosmere level that is false; humans existed pre-Shattering. Whether he created the sect of humans on Roshar is unknown. That is likely what he is referencing, in any case.
  13. Based on the letter though, Frost was close to Rayse, Ati, Skai, Aona and the other shardholders like Hoid, indicating that he was in on the Shattering plot more directly as well. As such, we cannot look to him either as an example of what other inhabitants of Yolen know, as I doubt he is just an average inhabitant with regards to the Shattering.
  14. Likely correct. though the second part could either mean the shards brought them, or that the shards created them.
  15. I was under the impression that Rosharans were brought there from another world, not created on Roshar like Scadrians were on Scadrial. So they wouldn't qualify as being children of Honor as they weren't created by Honor, nor Cultivation.
  16. I think that what it is saying is that a shard's power is not diminished when it is invested because that power still remains in the spiritual realm, therefore still close enough for the shard to have possession of it, because distance stops mattering. On the other hand, with Scadrial, the same thing is occurring. Their power is invested into the spiritual aspect of the physical world. Yes the world appears in the physical realm, but it also has a spiritual aspect and that is where they place their power, allowing them to always access it. If their power was physically invested into Scadrial, they wouldn't be able to just access it, as we saw with Ruin trying to find his atium. Spren work the same way. They have a cognitive aspect which defines them located in the cognitive realm, but their spiritual aspect is in the spiritual realm, and that is where their innate investiture is located.
  17. Very interesting thought. I'm not sure though about the thought that the investiture of a spren is located in the cognitive realm. They are cognitive entities for sure, but that does not mean that their power has to be there as well, as it seems more likely that they are like other cognitive entities, with a spiritual component comprised in part of investiture and a cognitive aspect. For this, I think it is a matter of relativity. Shards are made up of investiture which is usually spiritual, and since there is such a large amount of it outweighing the possible cognitive and physical aspects it has they are referred as spiritual entities. That, or it is just referring to the raw power of a shard which is just spiritual, with little physical or cognitive. On the other hand, spren have a limited spiritual comprised of the investiture fragment they possesses, coupled with a cognitive aspect. Since the cognitive aspect is more defined and unique, we consider it over the spiritual when defining spren, since likely most of them have similar spiritual. Also, something I found on Theoryland. Now this is easily a piece of confirmation bias, since I don't really agree with this theory. However, based on context, to me, this is saying that the investiture of spren is located in the spiritual realm, like Honor's investiture, therefore still being able to be part of Honor before he was splintered. Now, it is possible that this could've changed as a result of the splintering as your theory states. However, if this did occur, then I feel like there would be a radical difference between the spren post-shattering and the spren pre-shattering due to the massive influx of investiture into the cognitive realm, and a general shift in how they exist. However, as it seems to be, not much as changed for the spren. The same spren exist throughout the event of the shattering.
  18. True. Hard to say either way. It's possible that manipulation of spiritual and cognitive powers are more complicated than physical, which is mainly what Rashek dealt with. Also, it could be a matter of experience. Just because Harmony has the power doesn't mean he understands the specific extents of it, of what he can do and can precisely achieve desired effects.
  19. Possibly, though Harmony is still a novice at this point so it's possible that a shardholder who has been holding a shard since the Shattering might have a better understanding of how to use the powers, and outmaneuver him.
  20. Okay. I have no idea on the matter, just what other people have been saying in this thread.
  21. Possibly. That's a pretty fair assumption. I don't have much opinion on the matter, I was just answering the question of why people thought that Trell was Autonomy.
  22. The posts I quote just above your post contain his name according to the posters.
  23. Autonomy is theorized (generally, not by me necessarily) to be the opposing force to Harmony for two main reasons. Firstly, the unknown metal Bleeder had was of a known shard, and Autonomy is the only other shard which we know where it could be possible. Secondly, the metal gave Bleeder autonomy, the ability to act without Harmony's interference. There are other points, which I think can be found if you check the forum.
  24. Interesting thought. So you're proposing that going to Braize and Damnation as part of the afterlife is something that occurred before Odium arrived? Interesting thought, though it does go a bit against Vorinism lore, assuming that is somewhat accurate contextually for rosharan history. According to Vorinism, pre-Expulsion, only those deserving of Damnation were cast there by Almighty and everyone else resided in the Tranquiline Halls. The Expulsion was then when Odium arrived.
