No. Burning metals don't release investiture, except in the case of God metals. However, investiture is obtained from Preservation when metals are burned, which is what I was referring to.

Doubtful. There's a clear difference between malnutrition and epilepsy and I doubt the Kholin doctors could've mistaken the two.

A New Theory on Hemalurgy Realmatics [SH spoilers]
Spoolofwhool replied to Djarskublar's topic in Mistborn
Why would Kel's spiritweb have decayed? He was a cognitive shadow with his mind still present? The answer seems to be saying that the breakdown only starts after the mind goes to the Beyond. -
@Ferumancer No, it's the moment you start compacting charges to gain a higher charge level. So if you store 50% for 1 hour, you can tap at 100%, but for less than 30 minutes.
-
Where did you hear that you cannot amplify to become a stronger allomancer than the charge stored?
-
Your first math point is incorrect. You forgot that during 8 of those 24 hours, you would be tapping bronze to stay awake, so you cannot be storing wakefulness at the same time. Also, with regards to everything, you're failing to take take ino account the slight charge cost required to compound the charge to a higher level of tap.

Please go back and read my first post.

@FiveLate She doesn't need a timer for the other four because in those ones, she's still aware of herself as a forger, to a degree. The one with the timer is the one where she completely forgets about being a forger, so requires a different reason for her to stamp herself. I'm fairly certain all of them fail after a day like usual.

Since you're asking for a cross-series information, this would be better in Cosmere Theories probably. I know a couple of quotes, I'll see if I can find them.

Some questions about Pewter Feruchemy and compounding.

She could've been tapping gold to counter the damage done to her body. -

If you could be so kind as to provide that WoB; there's so many WoBs that talk about healing the soul after being cut by a sprenblade that the implications seem fairly clear. I don't recall any that directly state physical and spiritual, but at the same I don't recall any that say physical cognitive either. Edit: Also, I need the WoB if I'm to find a more recent one.
-
It's been confirmed that items which are too invested cannot be burned allomantically. This is indicates that burning probsbly obeys the general principle of investiture interfering with other types of investiture effects.
-
No. Sprenblades cut physical and spiritual. Nightblood on the other hand obliterates in all three realms. Getting killing by a sprenblade would probably impact your time before going to the Beyond, depending on how much damage you take. You could probably damage someone in such a way with a sprenblade that you damage their ability to use manifestations of investiture, but it wouldn't be easy I don't think, and Nightblood would do so a lot more easily.
-
The shardblades are so invested they're probsbly allomantically inert. The investiture in metalminds doesn't stop you since it's far less.

What's up with Nale's Skybreakers? [Edgedancer spoilers]
Spoolofwhool replied to rjl's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ashyn is shown to be a planet on the star map, so I don't see how it could be a cognitive location. -
Obviously it was Taln, taking the sword back from the man calling himself Taln.

It does destroy its targets on the physical, cognitive, and spiritual level. Their souls are effectively destroyed.

I know. It was a joke.

Maybe the title is actually suppose to be "The Last Metal," since that's what ettmetal is.
-
Okay. I see what you were saying Yata. I guess they didn't have a leecher go on Miles or at least didn't for long enough to burn away his metalminds. Regarding hemalurgic spikes and identity, there was a WoB about the identity of the spike needing to match the allomancer so it could very burned.
-
Yes. IIRC, they're awakened skeletons encased in stone, meaning they should be Type 2s. Type IVs not made out of metal might not be as useful in battle. (though a spear with a wooden head magically enhanced could be fairly powerful.) However, I can see a lot of versatility from using Type 4s even if they aren't shardblade-class objects. (Generally defined as highly invested magical objects.) I'm too lazy to come up with many uses, but one off the top of my head is an archiver entity which would remember information told to it. In other worlds, basically a sentient coppermind that wouldn't require removing memories. Once again, I think it was about the potential. Creating an armory of Nightbloods would be a waste. Improving Nightblood's design and creating Type 4s with other game-breaking applications could be very powerful if the knowledge is wide-spread.

It's a definition thing. When I said "good twist," I meant more "interesting twist," as in how much I would enjoy reading it. I meant no judgement on the quality of the plot, nor did I mean that I wouldn't enjoy it. I have no doubt it's going to be a great story, I'll just not be impressed if it turns out they atium is the Lost Metal and he makes it sound like it's a giant surprise. I won't dislike it though. Does this make sense? Feels a bit like a ramble but my point is that I didn't mean I would judge the plot based on the identity of the lost metal.
-
Just a note I'd like to make, since it's something which is starting to get repeated. It appears more that Vasher killed Shashara to prevent the spread of Type 4 Awakened Entities than the knowledge of awakening metal. The two don't necessarily appear to be linked.
