  1. Well this topic took a turn. All i really wanted to show was all the things Gavilar accused her of not been, she kinda ended up achieving. 1. Her not been worthy. I mean, you could say that, but what made Dalinar worthy of been a bondsmith? Didnt he grow into the role? Before that,he was a raving drunk, before that he was a tyrant, look at our boy now, uniting instead of dividing. it was a journey for him,so why cant Navani have that chance as well. Cause if youre saying Navani wasnt worthy,Dalinar sure as hell wasnt. 2. Her been a scholar. Thats up for debate, but as some people have said, she is a decent scholar and even that is enough. She did observe a phenomena(i forget which anti-light reacted with light),deduced a theory that was outfield and resolved it,even if she had help in the form of Raboniel(who has lived thousands of years, who commended Navani on been a scholar, that should be enough),it's still something she achieved while not actively seeking the end result of anti light, just trying to figure out what happened.
  2. ooooo, was doing a reread of ROW when i noticed this gem by Gavilar,. I'll just space them out “You aren’t worthy, Navani." She becomes worthy, even when the Sibling also told her she wasn't worthy "You claim to be a scholar, but where are your discoveries? You study light, but you are its opposite. A thing that destroys light." She discovers Anti-Light,a thing that destroys light "You spend your time wallowing in the muck of the kitchens and obsessing about whether or not some insignificant lighteyes recognizes the right lines on a map." I feel like there was something for this but I forget “These are not the actions of greatness. You are no scholar. You merely like being near them. You are no artifabrian. You are merely a woman who likes trinkets. You have no fame, accomplishment, or capacity of your own. Everything distinctive about you came from someone else. You have no power—you merely like to marry men who have it.” She basically becomes a scholar, helps create the fabrials that enable the flying jig, becomes one of potentially 3(4?) Bondsmiths.
  3. Yea in a way, except i mean for this,it's whether it's actively burning atium vs you been able to burn Atium cancelling the Futuresight. When Atium is used, the cancelling is always in the immediate future, but for the long term Futuresight, where you are making predictions to act on,say,a year from now,the potential for Futuresight from someone else can throw a wrench in your plans, thats what im trying to say. TLDR : for long term Futuresight, someone else potentially using Futuresight as well as immediately using Futuresight will throw a wrench in your Futuresight
  4. I'm still of the mind that it's not Renarin actively using futuresight, but his ability to use futuresight that's the problem. I would use a Bleach reference....This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules it,i'll use it. In Bleach there is a character called Urahara Kisuke, who is called one of the Special War Powers of Soul Society by the Vanderreich not because of his power, but his "means",which is basically, any plan they might have,he could and will come up with a counter plan, although they dont know what that could be. Going Back to Renarin,it's his potential to use futuresight that blanks out Odium, because him using Futuresight at any point would diverge from Odium's Futuresight
  5. I can't comment on the rest but for the Glys part,I think youre reading too much into it. I specially remember the sorrow part, and interpreted it as just a manner of speech, even him in the future tense. I don't have the book with me right now but yea Also, the protection against future sight might just be him been able to see into the future,so,just having that possibility is the constant protection
  6. no no,im not disagreeing with your initial point,im just saying the one i quoted doesnt seem to stem because bondsmiths were considered leadership
  7. Tbh,I dont think this is because the Bondsmiths were leaders but that they knew something was inherently wrong because there was only 1 Bondsmith when there is normally 3.
  8. I think it's a general consensus that TOdium manipulated the Breaths so that Hoid wouldn't be aware that he was a different person. Before the modification, you can see that Hoid becomes wary because Odium is acting different,so Odium changed his memories to start again so he could act more in line with how Hoid expected him to act
  9. So for some reason I cant quote the original so copy and paste it is So the night will reign, for the choice of honor is life... This one has always seemed more Kaladin to me,mostly cause we know he's the one that's closest to Honor Three of sixteen ruled, but now the Broken One reigns. The way this is written,it never seemed to me that the "Broken One" was one of the three, but another one. And I always came upon Autonomy simply cause we know Autonomy creates a LOT of avatars and that may be why He can be referred to as the Broken one. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk
  10. Hmmmm, why does kelek want to free Mishram for her own good? Why would he care about her so much?
  11. could suckling child be....oroden?
  12. "And Unite all people within our nation" -- Bondsmith
  13. Do you remember where? And I think i read somewhere what the chain was used for?
  14. It doesnt mean he's able to get the magic system though,he wasnt able to become an Elantrian,so maybe he just wasnt able to get a hold of Valor's Magic System for some reason
  15. Wild theory, but I think Ba-Ado-Mishram was the first child of Honor and Cultivation, and then they were unmade,so Honor and Cultivation made another spren, and that spren just called itself the Sibling
  16. Was just wondering which new magic system you would love to see from the new Shards that were introduced. I,personally, would love to see Whimsy. Mercy seems frightening tbh
  17. I mean, the entire reason he sided with the Singers was cause he decided they were the original owners of the land. So he could use that reasoning, him been to original owner of his Honorblade,to reclaim it,regardless of if he had to commit murder no?
  18. Def RAFO I think it seems unlikely though, cause from the Moash Interlude,Odium says he's not connected enough to Kaladin,I know a lot happens between that and when Kal jumps of the tower but,i dunno, maybe Warlight? He has some connection to Odium for sure and well,Son of Tanavast(whatever that means)
  19. quick question, wouldn't jasnah have shared the potraits she got from Wit with the top radiants and if she did, wouldn't shallan have gone like "Hey,thats my mom!"
  20. Doesn't Moash use stormlight because that is what fuels his honorblade? He'll need a bond with maybe a voidspren to be able to access voidlight no?
  21. really? I mean it does make sense but you'd think the old radiants would have noted it somewhere, although,we have like 6 more books so anything is possible
  22. People, people, trust in Lord God Brandon,He'll pull through. That aside,I didnt think he was wasted. Odium used him sparingly and from his point of view,it was a good tactic. We have to remember this is playing out as a general commanding his armies(or whatever is close to that). I think he's been set up well, and him been blind now should be very interesting indeed. Maybe hemalurgically spiked eyes for steelsight mwahahaha(i'm kinda hoping for this, with Todium and all)
  23. wasn't it 10 years in SA world but 5 in the real world? (although, what is even real anymore)
